On a side note, it's pretty easy to tell when a cat is gonna cough-up. They miaow and look at you differently, then they do the motion in slight shortly beforehand. Also slow walking is another good sign.

I'm not sure. Most cats will throw up on average once to twice a month. It's very normal. It being sick though, it all depends on what it's eating, when and whether it lost any weight. Could be food poisoning, they've had cases where they had to recall the food do to poisoning. I doubt that though. I recommend you seek a veternarian.
