  • mmm...sounds like money

  • It sounds like my crappy broken door bell.

  • can you fill them with regular butane gas, without any more adapters? and one more question: the gas is released when you open the lid, or when you spark the flint?

    thanks!

  • @tudormarcu2006 it uses lighter fluid I believe (may be wrong but I doubt it) and for that reason there is no safe way to fill it with butane without a modification

  • @XysflightchampX I am sure that it uses butane, the zippo lighter is the one that uses lighter fluid. But I'm asking if Dupont lighter can be filled with regular butane cans, because I know there are for sale special butane capsules. Yes, capsules, because with those you can fill the ligter only once. My previous questions are still available.

    Thanks!

  • @tudormarcu2006 oh sorry.. I just checked online and yes I will correct myself it uses butane and no it will not be able to be filled from a fuel can purchased from a non specialty store. you must use their cans with the proper adapter type (as far as I have read although my ignorance on this topic means I still may be wrong)

  • I don't see why the FUCK you would buy a LIGHTER for $1,200. You might as well go out and buy a solid gold shoe lace.

  • And for $799, this ping could be yours too! Dupont are slightly overpriced....

  • @avielsick perhaps a tad...

  • replica, japanees..

  • Ever owned a Zippo? It doesn´t make that faggotrish "PING" but a more manly "TSHACK" like if you reload a shotgun.

  • @Lusth0g : I have 25+ zippo lighters and one st dupont lighter... and let me tell you something dupont sound might be faggotrish to you but many ppl still prefer the sound of st dupont than zippo including me. how much does a zippo cost? the most expensive one i have is aroung $120 which is a Japanese re-processed. My st dupont costs around $1150... Now can you imagine the huge gap between zippos and duponts? Why do ppl buy Mercedes? Think about that

  • @sungtagk3286 ya sad how some people don't feel right unless they spend their money on the most expensive

things they can. no offence but really who cares how much it costs.

  • @sungtagk3286 Actually, the most expensive Zippo is $12k, why you ask? 18 karat solid gold, including a solid gold inside (with brass around where the flame is).

  • @Lusth0g And let me tell you something... I would call myself an expert with these lighters

  • omg... the ping sound is perfect!!!

  • ive got a faked one from turkey for 20 bugs..... really it seems to be massive.... the flame goes from very small to big ass huge..... i dont have to refill often and it looks the same like the originals...... well i´m happy with it... i dont need a 500 $ lighter

  • A huge ass lighter for a small ass flame. Ode to the american way!

  • that ping would definately make me smoke more

  • Can you refill the butane yourself with butane from a local store?

  • @ToolshedEd3TF please do not try and fill a lighter that uses lighter fluid with butane.. there are some people on youtube who have done that to zippos with terribly unsafe results.

  • Question to anyone willing to help:

Found a lighter in my great grandpa's old stuff and it was left to me. It's gold with black on the body and cap that's chipping away due to age. Now on the bottom it's inscirbed "PANTHER THRONE" with two caps. A large cap where it looks fluid would go in and a small cap with a curved line and at each end is L and H. Now after some searching it was inconclusive but Dupont looked like the same stlye and a duller ping. (age) Can anyone help tell me what it is?

  • Those Dupont lighters from 70s?

  • Not a very good ping. Too high pitched

  • Can someone tell what's so great about a dupont lighter? I'm not here to diss, just wanted to know. ty

  • I saw this other dude's video and it sound like a zippo - he must've got a fake and didnt' know it.

  • I found my dads old dupont lighter. But it doesnt work. I'm googling on how I can refil it and how to place a new rock. I cant find anything. I need help please. I want to use it. I just need to know how to put a new rock on it. I dont know how and where to place the rock. I did manage to open it. Please help. :D

  • @sassynikki

    hi,

welcome to Dupont! If you can send me your e-mail i will send you a few pictures of where to place the flint.

  • @sassynikki :: you just hav to pull down the sth like switch that below the lighter's bar when you open up the lighter. then the bar will slide and you will see the charcoal's hole.. that's it! then you have to go to the lighter shop to buy that charcoal.. actually,, you can use charcoal that's come wif general lighter.. it's much cheaper!!

  • @Thesuperooh charcoal?

  • your dupont is beoutiful, is a valuable object that you have, i have one, I recommend you take great care, although there are many stupid people saying it makes no sense to buy something so expensive, I hope I can get more dupont lighters, bye

  • Beautifull lighter, thanks very much for posting as I have been thinking of buying one of these, I currently have a palladium and gloss black rollagas by dunhill and love it too, but I really fancy a st dupont, thanks again 5 stars will let you know hoe I get on, enjoy your lighter!

  • does it use flints or not

  • @metallicafan114

    Yes, it use flints

  • @metallicafan114 no it uses your moms pubic hair

  • cigars are disgusting

  • beoutiful dupont lighter!!

  • HAHA look at all these loser "lighter-enthusiasts" talking about their sad and pathetic habits of handling their lighters no one wants to hear. XD LOSERS!!

  • @jayoori1

so, get out of here and don't listen......just a bunch of jealous people here (including you: jayoori1)

The purpose of this video is NOT meant to show off Dupont lighter......It is to SHARE how a one lighter is different than others. characteristic, size, how it flame

if you got other interest....go for it....this isn't your page

  • 1st of all u suck at using a dupont lighter!.!.! 2nd of all either u need to change the spark of the lighter or the switch or spark is a fake!.!.! 3rd thats the cheepest dupont lighter ive ever seen in my life!.!.!.! Thats the stupidest fuckin dupont dont try to trick anyone!.!.! Dont try to argue with me because both my uncles are in the dupont and cigar industry!.!.! And they both have 1 million dollar shops!.!.!!!!

  • So what in your opinion is the best dupont there is.. In terms of quality.

  • so,can i see the way u use dupont? and can i see the lighter of both ur "uncle" stocks..can u explain why its cheap and why it can be your stupidest dupont? show us ur video and dont ever comment when u cant show something better that dat.let me noe if u have a video of dupont suckest loser

  • 1st. Learn how to spell. 2nd. Learn what punctuation is and where to use it. 3rd. Ligne II Dupont's do not have "switches". 4th. The uncles you speak of must deal in fake Dupont's as the lighter in this video is clearly real. Lets just break this down now: I own Dupont's. You brag about your uncles crappy cigar stores that sell fake Dupont lighters. In short you dont own them. Why do you lie about your age? You are not 34, dont try to argue about it with me either.

  • @XXvaroujXX

You sure are a fucking prick. Nobody asked you about your uncles, who cares if they are worth a million? He seems to be using the lighter just fine, and so what if its a basic st. dupont? A dupont is a dupont, maybe this is the only model he could afford. Weather or not it has gold or diamonds, it will still make a flame.

  • You such such IDIOT!!! with or without a ST Dupont lighter!!

  • @podertres

lol.....what i see is a mentally challenge dude sees this title and click into the page..watched the video that was posted by a idiot.......we are no difference.....

    one world, one love!

    get a doctor!

  • @XXvaroujXX

hahahahahaah ur pathetic....showing off with ur 1M shops.....

    i feel sorry for you

  • @XXvaroujXX

show me how you do it then....you're another

"JosephNowhere" talking poo here...that's all you can do cuz you got nothing else to show......

which shops do they own? tell us and let us know.....

probably a 1million pawn shop.....tell me to teach you something about dupont then

  • I handle lighters like these a little different - I hold them in my right hand with the spark wheel away from me, flip the cover with my thumb and strike the wheel with my index finger. Works better for me, and I can use my left hand to shield the flame from the wind.

  • That's the dumbest fucking shit ever! Annoying ass ping, doesn't open all the way, teeny ass flame, side-fucking-ways wheel. What the fuck happened to the world?

  • @JosephNowhere

why don't you fake yourself if you like to fuck all your life which is fucked up

    what....you mada faka

    get you low class zippo

  • I can tell you didn't go to school, should I be worried or are you doing good with your life?

  • The Ligne I series have the fill screw on the bottom and the flame adjustment under the lid. Having the two "screws" on the bottom is indicative of the Ligne II Duponts; as well as the Gatsby's. The lighter featured in this video looks like a brushed Pallidium model Ligne II. These models have two screws on the bottom. One for filling, one for flame adjustment. I have at least one lighter from each of the Dupont Ligne's, the Ligne II's are definitely my favorites.

  • @ssgharkness020147

Yes, its the Ligne II but Gun Metal style

It does have two screws at the bottom

    All the best!

  • @ssgharkness020147

Yes, its the Ligne II gun metal

It does have two screws at the bottom

    All the best!

  • very fake

  • nice........

  • thats realy weird how u light it....its auctly prety cool but i think ill stick with a zippo

  • looks pretty authentic to me. not an exaggerated ping sound. btw, is this a pallidium? does it have that square seal at the bottom? trying to buy one second hand, but i need to confirm it's authenticity

  • yea, its not

    Its a gun metal!

looks close to the plladium thou.

not sure what square seal you're talking about. There are serial numbers stamp underneath!

  • do you have a close-up of the font. i've seen t types of fonts. one version with lots of curls etc on the S and D, others with hardly any curls at all... recently bought a 2nd hand one, having looked at it more closely, i don't htink it's autehntic (mine that is). gonna take it to a dealer and check

  • My brushed Palladium does not have the square seal at the bottom.

  • @ssgharkness020147

hum, what square seal are you talking about?

mine is Ligne II Gun Metal

  • You go ahead and do that, I'm sure emillu will let you come into his home and check under the bottom as long as you call ahead first. BTW its quiet.

  • if i had one...i'd sit around and do that all day...

  • love that sound
