Maybe slightly faster if the same route is used. A whole lot of faster if the dogs in the 1F could do fatal enough damage to you.

the creature in the end is a closer, which is a mandarin from silent hill 2, only above ground.

yeah, like Nattakorps said, though I think Siam is supposed to be a sort of imprint that James left during Silent Hill 2, and since the most believable ending to SH2 was James driving into Toluca Lake and killing himself, it could be him coming back as a monster(s) and representing his time while his wife Mary was in the hospital, hence the female on Siam's back and the bondage gear, hinting that he felt that he was bound to her and couldn't escape

true, but then again, the Leave ending is only slightly possible, because we never truly find out if Laura is real, or just James' imagination, and the Maria ending doesn't work because Maria doesn't exist outside of Silent Hill, and all that's left are the extra endings, Rebirth, Dog and UFO, and the latter two aren't true because their joke endings, and we don't know what happens after James preforms the ritual in Rebirth, so, like I said, In Water and Leave are the most plausible ones

Maria ending has symbolic value, with James apparently repeating his past mistake.

I've read an interesting theory on SHH that exclaims that Rebirth is the most conclusive ending to the game. Do you want a link?

yup, in Silent Hill 3 a "memory of Alessa" (bloody and black haired Heather, which is her natural hair color) is a boss towards the end of the game, and she has all of Heather's weapons
