crap I just realised that the "century egg" I've eaten since I was young is actually fermented egg! I always thought it was the egg of some sort of bird ..it's not to uncommon in south east Asia to eat insects and my relatives do eat it when they visit the neighboring countries (like honeyed grasshopper and apparently it's delicious) but I'll never really dare to try one...although fermented egg does taste decent although I don't really like the rich texture..

Those "spoiled" eggs are called century eggs, and they're quite nice. It's quite common in Asia, mostly China. They don't really stink, at least not to me. I eat them with some soy sauce and rice :) You can look it up. But everything else is just disgusting. I guess it's culture really.
