I agree with most here. I'm white, 6'4" and I used to have ~35" vert. I could do the "elbow dunk" Vince Carter made famous. I've seen quite a few that could out jump me too, some white, some black. It all depends on what you work on, your hops, your shot, handles, etc. Many times white players have well rounded games, or are more "heady" and don't NEED the athleticism. Sometimes it's the other way around. There's no set rule. Just depends what you work on.

But... for one Tom chambers who was a phenomonal leaper there are couple of dozens black players who were in his league. I am caucasian, I was a pro baller (6.2 and I could dunk) but I have seen a level of athletic ability amongst black athletes that is on average superior to white players. Athletic ablity needs to be completement with a range of skills before it turns out a good player though.
I'm white and I could honestly say its because a lot of white men couldn't jump, they tended to focus more on fundamentals instead of jumping ability. I'm 5'10 and could grab rim at age 17 from the circle, if I had not sprang my ankle it wouldn't have taken the wind out of my sail and I would have probably been able to dunk.
Who's 34, for a second there I thought that was Len Bias, then I had to remind myself he never played for the Celtics. Anyhow kind of kool to see what Len would sorta look like in the Celtics uniform.
