I read the book 16 years ago and just re-reading it now, at this age, seeing it with other eyes..Love can be sensed in different angles, just like the bridges over any county...Of course, its better than the movie. Of course, it captures the endless simplicity of love between the last cowboy and the last woman standing...This waltz makes so much more sense than any motion picture. But without it I would not have read the book. Maybe we, here, are some of the women and cowboys left after all...
This song is from a terrific CD. I think of it as a companion to the book. But a movie? No friggin way. Waller's written words allowed you to use your own imagination to visualize the characters. Just the thought of a movie version reminds me of what happened to Christopher Reeve, as Richard Collier, when he picked up the penny.
I love Robert James Waller and I loved the Bridges of Madison County. I was disappointed to see Clint Eastwood and Merel Streep playing those parts. (even tho they're both great actors). It's just not what I pictured. After reading the book the picture in my mind was exactly what is in thsi video. I could watch them dance all day.

I thought Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood were the perfect couple and cast well how alike Robert Waller is to Clint
The follow up book is A Thousand Country Roads where they almost meet up again
Just a wonderful wonderful film

Everytime I hear this song, watch this video, it makes me sad. Romance, real romance doesn't exist anymore. God knows I want this kind of romance.
This is beautiful.

Thanks for sharing, reminds me of a romance I had many years ago with Dian, one that was domed from the onset, but still many great memories.
