  • Just watched this mate, very good! I am surprised that you can play so well (at this point) after only a couple of months, brilliant!

  • good job ;)

  • tabs?

  • @maxitaxiTT

    Ears?

  • DUDE NICE AND THANK YOU

  • Aha .....I notice you're playing like James Jamerson with just the one finger. Nice videos pretty jazz bass, I like the sound of your Vintage modified squier as well.

  • @garethhjones More like I'm playing like a guy that's only had a bass for a very short time when I made this, but I'll take it lol.

  • @jkramer5 lol you had to have been playing previously to those "2 months".

  • @henry14000 nope, the bad part is it's almost 2 years later I'm I'm not much better.

  • @jkramer5 Lol, how much were you practicing a day? any suggestions on various books, dvds etc that you used?

    Help would much be appreciated!!

    Thanks!!!

  • @henry14000 I just play to songs I like, I don't formally practice, all by ear, good or bad. I watch lots of other bass players here on youtube, and I've listened to the music I play for over 40 years. I played the drums and trumpet as a kid/young adult so that helps a lot with picking stuff up I suppose but I don't read music or tabs. I just do it for fun. Thanks for taking the time to watch.

  • You should try practicing the alternating finger plucking technique!

  • You should practice the alternating finger technique with your plucking hand!!!

  • hi there, is that fender active? I've heard really cool things about that instrument.

By the way, nice groove... congrats...

  • @grisintenso Yes it is, it's the Made in Mexico Deluxe Active Jazz.

  • RU serious just 2 months of playing? I just bought a bass just like yours yesterday a FJD I hope to play that good in 2 months, wwooww.

  • what size gauge are your dr lowriders??

  • At the time I made this, probably 45-105, I use 45-100's a lot too, depending on the bass.

  • Thanks for the comment, I agree it is a great song.

  • Right playing, good grooving, and one of the best songs in the air..what you want more?...

  • balla song! good job!

  • No, for real, that is very good! :)

  • Cool!

  • excellent i love marvin gaye music. I've been waiting to here this deluxe jazz bass guitar. I just picked one up because of your video A++++++++++++

  • Wow, your a great Bassist, man! Nice Bass, Mine is midnight wine, but I'm gonna put a tortoise shell pickguard on it. Nice choice of song too!

  • If you think that's good, wait till you hear him play "Blame it On the Boogie" by the Jackson 5. That one rocks!!

  • good job dude!!!

    what amp do you use?

    ROCK ON!!

  • I don't use an amp for making these recordings. I go direct to the PC via a Presonus firebox. I record with cubase, and put a little compression on the bass.

  • Oh and thanks for the compliment :)

  • Good Job, on a great song,, RWB

  • Also, the 5 string looked brand new after polishing-zero scratches-odd for being used but it was pretty unplayable before so not much use i guess! Some of these mex-made Fenders are quite good quality-just have to find the good ones. I was lucky to find both of these with great fretwork! Great tone by the way! I love the on-board EQ esp. that mid! Dial in any tone ya want! Check out my pics on facebook @ MarkDavidWilliamson. My youtube account to be set up soon so i wont have to use my wife's!

  • Nicely done my friend! My favorite color of this series. So much in fact I have both the 4 and 5 in vintage white! After a little neck, bridge, and nut adjustments they both play great. Low enough action for all styles of playing (especially slap!). Had the 4 first & always thought it would be cool to have matching 5-then one day @ guitar center saw the 5 hangin' there waiting for me. Was used w/ bad buzz on open B & E and mid knob was loose. $237.00! New battery&other adj. and is perfect!

  • I love this song. Good job.

  • I love this Marvin tune. Love it.

You're not bad at all mate either.

  • nice friend

  • Hows the action on this bass? Im thinking about getting this one

  • It plays great but deffinately needed a setup done on it. I took it to a local lutiher and he worked magic on it.

  • nice playing style :> .. i`ve been playing guitar for about 2 years and about 4-5 months, and i`ve been playing bass guitar for about 4-5 months:D and i want to get a bass guitar just like yours:D .. only in black. Keep it up:>

  • Thanks for the comment and good luck with the Bass. I hope you like it as much as I do. I wanted it in black also but the one they had had some bad fret issues so I got the "vintage white".

  • You did a great job playing bass on this tune. One of my favorite Marvin rarities as well.

  • thanks for the nice comment. Glad you liked it.

  • I'm impressed that you can play the bass in the songs only by hearing it played and remembering it...great job!

  • Very nice for 2 months playing!

    Amazing song too.

  • Thanks alot for the comment. I really appreciate people viewing these.
