@wantayable from what I can remember she was big in the Philippines and performed internationally. She then moved to the States or something like that. Her career unfortunately did not flourish. Probably due to poor management, the stigma towards Asians, and of course no YT back then. Truth be told, there hasn't been a truly successful Asian that has cracked the US market. It seems like with Asians, talent is not enough. That doesn't apply as much to Caucasians and Blacks.

I was talking in general terms, and even with Charice and Ariel being quite popular, it's still not the same kind of popularity that a caucasian or even a black singer is able to achieve. Fact is that it is difficult being an Asian artist, and even Charice talks about the difficulties being a minority in Hollywood. There's a lot of BS Asian artists have to go through to get to the top in the US.

yeah but she must be laughing her way to any contract deals now that she has established being a talent of David Foster, appearing in Oprah, Ellen, Starking.. and Paul o Grady in London.. and even Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban being amazed by her voice. She stood in a stage with grammy awardees and famous A listers in the music industry. What have you?
