in my culture we use these animal (sea cucumber) as a medicine mainly in ointment and some in dishes to eat. . But whatever it is I never did eat this hahaha. . But the sea cucumber oil is very good indeed, can cure wound, swollen and so much more

This is sorta late, but I have actually eaten them. I don't know what their English name is but in China (where I accidentally ate them) they call them "sea intestines". An unappetizing name for an unappetizing food. They were gross--basically tasteless mushrooms, but with a denser texture. TMI, huh?
