Monty, I dunno if you've ever spent time in Africa, but I've been twice and it's a complete head-f*ck - once in western africa, once in northern. So much poverty yet the people there are the happiest I've ever met, so thankful for what they have. In one trip, I was there for two weeks, and only met one person begging. At home, I see several every single day - happy and proud yet poor and suffering- they seem to have a mindset that we should all be trying to emulate in some way

"I'm happy because you are my friend" and that laugh, oh my... Knew a girl here at work in HR, that was from Africa and her laugh was kind of like that.

Couldn't help but laugh back. Then a girl from Ethiopia that was a clerk at a store nearby, which closed unfortunately. She would talk about how much better we have it here and how poor many were, there. Hope she found more work.

I like Happy people. He's right in what he said about Americans don't know their neighbors opposed to it being opposite in Africa where they know one another, smile and say hi.
