Dalton Trumbo was an amazing writer . I loved his Roman Holiday ,but so many other great movies, Spartacus, Papillon, and one of my favorite childhood Christmas time movies, Our Vines Have Tender Grapes with Margaret O'Brien

He was a Communist before stalin sir. He was the idealist variety. 30's communism was like 60s hippiedom or 00's Ron Paulism, a dream unattained. It is completely American to dream of utopias as we go through life. I am a humble musician, but I dream of all kinds of them every day... then i wake up to idiots and mediocrity.

Stalinism was in full flower when Trumbo embraced Communism and Stalinists were idealists in their own warped way.

Also, Trumbo in 1941 contacted the FBI and gave names of people who simply wanted copies of his great anti-war book "Johnny Got His Gun" which he pulled because Trumbo was no longer against the war because his beloved Stalin went from being an ally of Hitler to being attcked by Hitler. His politics were linked to every Stalin whim because Trumbo was a Stalinist.

Another option would be to have your personal physician or an LPN come in and hook you up to blood pressure, EKG and EEG monitors... then speak to them in a ~kindly~ fashion... by phone.

Mild sedatives should be kept handy for this.
