  • I remember I called one of these psychic lines once out of curiosity. The first 2 minutes were free but They put me on hold for 20 minutes, the "psychic" basically tells you a bunch of fake stuff like I was going to live near the ocean and that I was going to be involved in medicine as a career (both wrong) . The phone bill came and I was charged $95.97!! I called and threatened to report them to the BBB and they refunded my money.

  • $4.59 a fucking minute!!? Someone struck a goldmine.

  • what goddamn fat whore negro

  • Lmao

  • She should have saved "Penny" (Janet Jackson's character) before getting burned with the iron, if she was really psychic.

  • Scary

  • This is pitiful.

  • "james!!!"..lol

  • ..............damn! damn! damn! lol

  • DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She was great on "Good Times" so I hated seeing her lowering herself with this junk.

  • @guarddog22 me too. this saddens me. she was such a talented woman

  • its sad Esther Rolle had to lower herself to do this kinda crap!

  • @entertainmentguy1984 I was thinking the same thing. :-(

  • Yeah, but, ya know......THIS ain't good! Florida promotin' the Occult? What's up wit THAT?? She was best at home, takin' care of the family. Go back home, Flo! Go back to your fam and your JESUS!

  • @gdg1963 You are so right. She's telling you to ask Satan into your life.

  • That other lady looks so familiar.

  • Oh hell no...... Save your money kids, getting old must be expensive

  • ...even the commercial was a lie. the girl in this is an actress. She played in "The Brothers" as the french girl who dated Morris Chestnut's father. The one that didn't speak english.

  • Is no neck filming this from inside her nursing home.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow I had no idea she was a psychic. This is sad. The way her Good Times character was talking about Jesus I foolishly thought she was the same way. Hollywood is something else. If you research all these african-american stars, most of them are not Christian and/or have forgotten God along the way with their success. Jesus did say it was hard for rich people to enter Heaven. Most of the black community is so religious, I assumed it was the same way for black Hollywood. And it's rly not.

  • @osimeon00 I dont think she did it for psychic/religion reasons, I say that because this commercial was right before she died, being on dialysis or some kind of medicine for diabetes, Im quite sure she had to make money in order to keep herself well with all the medical needs

  • @spirit69warrior Wow u know what? I didn't think about that. U cud be right!!

  • @spirit69warrior , Yeah, I think it's sad, too. I liked her character on "GOOD TIMES". Nevertheless, it's kind of like what king Saul did with the witch of Endor. Nothing like compromising with your soul on your death-bed. That's the time to call on JESUS/YAHUSHUA, not Miss Cleo.

  • @osimeon00 Uh, what? White people are the same way. No one is "Christian" in Hollywood. And, the true def. of Christian, very few in the world are.

  • @GayTexasBoy No what I meant was that black Americans in general have historically been traditionally religious. Christianity of course. I'm black myself. So when you think about how many Christians there are in the black community, you naturally think black Americans in Hollywood would be the same way. But I have been finding out, there's very FEW in Hollywood and the music industry AT ALL. God said in the Bible it is hard for rich people to enter Heaven. He was right.

  • Do you have the other ones that Esther did for these people?

  • @muitobonito113 No, this is the only one I have.

  • That's a really chaeesy commercial. Sad that she didn't get more acting work that she didn't. She was very under appreciated. I think she was an incredible actress. She was excellent as Florida on "Good Time". When Florida found her husband had been killed in a car crash, one of the most famous lines in television history was uttered. " DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!". Tragic. She was amazing. R.I.P. Esther.

  • Damn, that's a shame. She was reduced to this?

  • thats sad thats what she was left with gimmick Commercial

  • @coolwafferman LMAO, you know you hit hard times when you get desperate to start a phony psychic hotline.

  • LOL I keep thinking James going to pop out of no where and yell... "Florida what the hell you doing!?? Get the hell back home and cook me so dinner!! LMAO

  • Esther couldn't see James getting fired from Good Times but she can give you advice

  • @bigboss400 He didn't get fired, he quit. John Amos quit because he didn't like the buffoonery of J.J.'s character.

  • @Kabman89 You didn't see the Story of Good Times I think it came on TV one. James and Esther were had beef over JJ Walker going so much money (JJ was the marketing bullet for the show) James and Esther were gonna hold out but somehow or another James got thrown out the loop and Esther stayed. The same thing happened on Girlfriends that got Toni Childs off the cast.

If you look at the show there wasn't much buffoonery and there was alot of life lessons.

  • " tell them Miss Cleo ain't got nothing on our shit"

damn Damn DAMN my name is Florida

  • @JAYEGMGB Lol, you're right!

  • From Good Times to Hard Times

  • @Reese702 OH MY

  • @Reese702 even goodtimes was hardtimes

  • @Reese702 More like "Hard-Ass Times."

  • she sho is uglay!

  • Very sad to watch. RIP Esther.

  • ya'll goin 2 hell with first class tickets mayne.....I see by how the majority of ya'll is posting must really not knw that she actually died

  • WTF??? DID SHE SEE THAT JAMES WAS GONNA GET KILLED OFF OF GOOD TIMES???

  • Tell them Florida sent you.

  • man everybody commenting on this got me literally crying laffin

  • call this number now baby

  • @cb19882000 LMAO!!

  • Wow... I'm surprised she would participate in this.. She must of been in dire need of some money! RIP..

  • @jazzscherzo aww man! this comment had me cryin laughin!!!

  • Damn, damn, damn, she hit hard times!!!

  • @38106chick so true

  • Listen to that bass in her voice when she says "Honeeeeyyyy" at 00:08

"I want you to pick up the phooooone and give us a try. This call is FREE!!!!" shitttt, I'm convinced- LOL!

  • @LuKasAV6 STOP IT !!! MY STOMACH IS HURTING LOL she went deeper than toni braxton when she said honnneeeyyyyy LOL and how she said this call is free LMAO damn she was serious

  • @spirit69warrior I had to buy some new speakers after that 00:08 mark! I know this commercial VERBATIM! Rest the soul of Esther Rolle.

  • @LuKasAV6 LMAO damn the speakers blew out. Imagine if she said at the 0:26 mark I want you to go to your local welfare office and give us a try THESE FOOD STAMPS ARE.....FREE !!!

  • Esther Rolle SOUNDS NICE

  • knowing that she was on good times and was an actress why the hell would anybody call

  • LMAO. I remember Psychic Hotlines growing up. man, those were the days.

  • I laughed out loud, this is BAD acting lol

  • Damn, damn, damn!

  • @jazzscherzo LMAO, you took the words right outta my mouth.

Guess I don't have to stick my neck out for that one.

  • i tried calling LOL. it says its disconnected and to hang up before i get charged!!

  • @jazzscherzo Phuckin Hilairous

  • The comments on here are funny.

  • DAMN I DIDNT KNOW SHE WAS INTO THIS STUFF...I DONT REMEMBER THIS...I CANT BELIEVE SHE WOULD FALL FOR THIS BULL WELL I GUESS MONEY TALKS...THEY WAS PROBABLY PAYIN HER A GRIP

  • Esther we are doing away with good times. DAMN DAMN DAMN

  • @ryadams91 YOU ARE RIGHT

  • I wonder is she knew she would be dead in the following year when she did this.

  • "Tell them Esther sent you."

Umm, why? They're psychics, shouldn't they already know who sent you?

  • @horns2112 I'm crying right now. LOL!

  • man "i love you"

    woman " i know".

    LMMFAO!

  • Esther Rolle was first-rate in her profession as an actress ... not to mention an iconic "Ma" in pop culture. Still love watching her on "GT". Go Flo! RIP Esther.

  • Couldnt she drive a bus instead like in Good Times? This shit just aint right.

  • She could've changed her name to MEO. Cousin to the bitch That don'y know what she talking about.

  • i remember this commercial i was like 10 years old

  • The local station here would show this commercial late at night, and oddly enough I only saw it during "Good Times" reruns. Even though I used to have a slight crush on the young lady, I was too young to appreciate just how bad this commercial really was.

  • ESTHER REMINDS ME OF MY BOSS,

  • @ANIAGIRLZ OH MY

  • poor thing. & i adored her acting work. this was the year before she died. diabetes. smh. bless her.

  • Yes. She died incredibly soon after this commercial was filmed.

  • @CodyC6969 SMH that diabetes is something else. i believe she won an emmy award which was donated to her alma mater

  • @DkPcBgOtTaLuvEm Not with that psychic shit going on lol!

  • wow the good times mom as a psychic

  • Sad to see a legendary talent such as Ms. Rolle reduced to informercials. :( RIP.

  • OMG SHE WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD IN THE MOVIE ROSEWOOD DAMN THAT IS A GOOD MOVIE. But i dont think she really did this b/c she did other movies and stuff. but only God her and the ppl who made this really know.

  • @jermainehaywood : She was BRILLIANT in "Rosewood." Unfortunately, it opened the same weekend as "Booty Call" and we didn't support it the way it should have been. "Rosewood" was a historically important movie and John Singleton's best - to date.

  • @miznatacha wow i didnt know that they both came out at the same time. I forgot how i came to see the movie Rosewood but it was good and sad at the same time. but ppl who havent seen that moive should look at it .

  • @miznatacha -I agree it was an important/good film, as was all of Singleton's movies. However, nothing he's done is better than Boyz in the Hood. Not that his other films declined, "BITH" was just one of those high water marks that comes once in a lifetime. In fact, it spawned a decade of hood want to be movies, i.e, Menace II Society, Juice, South Central etc.

  • @jazzscherzo That comment wasn't right .. But it was sure funny as hell..

  • The end of this video always killed me! I remember seeing this back in 1997 late at night/early hours of the morning. My boyfriend and I used to sit in bed watching TV and when the ad came on we would be laughing, but at the end when she does that ridiculous pose, smiles and looks right into the camera, we would be hysterical!! Thanks for uploading this!!! Brings back good memories!

  • itbrandonsilver.....there is no GOD?.......ok...........your a fool!...enjoy this lil time u have left on earth...cuz i wanna see how bad u r when u check out ,want to repent but burn forever cuz its too late...........JESUS is GOD......no man sees the father except by coming thru HIM..John 14:6......(smile)

  • What in bloody hell is this????? Good Lord.

  • Sad, I thought she was a christian :(

  • @Ironwind1972 she is, either she was doing it for god, for christen purposes. or she was a fake who cared only for money. now which one u think it is, cause it sure aint then 2nd one

  • poor sweet lady...why she would be doing stupid fake stuff like this is beyond me. people actually believed these frauds (excluding her) were psychics.

  • @2handsforchrist dude not to mean or anything, but psychics are real. even says it in the bible. everyone is capable of things like that. just like everyone is capable of sin. if they can do that, its not their fault. but some of them dedicate them selves to do it in the lords name. geez be alittle bit nice next time. cause im pretty sure that if you dont something bad will happen. if it already has i aint feeling sorry.

  • OMG I miss this commercial!

  • LOL, Why couln't Esthers psychics tell her she was gonna die a year later lol. RIP Esther Rolle, I hope your having a good time in heaven.

  • can we rise...please?

  • I don't recall ever seeing this ad on TV. Is this some kind of a joke?? Whoaaa what a HUGE gap!!!

  • @88soulsurvivor

No it's not a joke, they use to run this commerical with the late Ester Roll (sad to see a TV legend like her get pimped for this BS) at night back in the late 90's. Then came phoney ass Cleo (commedian) with her fake accent and she pretty much dominated the psychic infommercial scene from 1999-2002, until they started to investigate her ass & others for fraud!! lol!!!

  • Its MOO MOO

  • I remember this commercial. I had all but forgotten it. IT's so weird watching all these years later, I hate that she did this.

  • I always hated the way she looked with gray hair!

  • WTF???.....HAAAHAAA!!!!!

  • She must have been hard up for money. Sheez.

  • that woman seeking counseling played in the movie "the brothers".....so fake!

  • she must of really needed the money to do this. i LOVED when ru paul had her on the same show as Bea Auther as a surprise. FANTASTIC!

  • disconnected >>>>BUMMER

  • sad to see her play with witchcraft...acting or not...GOD dont play with that..hope she got it right w JESUS b4 she left

  • Oh please, there is no God and Jesus. These are all just fairytales your parents told you so you would shut up as a child. It's time to grow up.

  • @ItBrandonSilver are you so fucking sure? im pretty sure dying is a fairy tail as well. no you shit for brains dick. youre acting like a kid, if people wanna bealive in that then let them. you know i pretty sure you dont know whats on the other side of death and if you think theres nothing. then i hope you die scared and alone. idk whats on the other side either, but im pretty sure you had faith one time in your life then lost it cause you went through a bad time or something. if might be real

  • @ItBrandonSilver and if you think just cause he doesnt awnser or you cant see him. have you ever seen the wind. is that shit visible? no but its real. hell ive gone through so much pain ive cussed at him i cried hoping he would come and when he didnt i thought he wasnt real. but you know that maybe he doesnt awnser cause fuckers like you act like children. you know if everyone bealived and didnt give the shit you do. the world might actually be nice.and i might actually smile but yea fuck you

  • @ItBrandonSilver .,.....To tell complete strangers to grow up and stop believing in GOD shows you have no respect for others beliefs. What you believe is between you and yours and I would appreciate it if you kept it that way.

  • i love u....i know...that woman was so conceited

  • DAMN DAAAMN DAAAAAAAAAAMN

  • People leave horrible messages in this comments section. Back when i first saw this commercial i was just glad to see that Esther Rolle was still alive eventhough she died a little after this aired. This can be looked at as just another acting job or acting roll Esther took to keep herself in the public eye.

When these sitcoms get cancled the industry basically just push these celebs to the side and move on to the next actress.

  • I can't believe she associated herself with this. She was religious on Good Times, lol.

  • oh yeah i remember this commercial. funny how she did these commercials but she was so pro-better roles for African Americans, quality roles...

  • Hey she had bills to pay to you know.

  • Yea if you called that number do you think you would of been talking to her? :/

  • Does Thelma love me?

  • R.I.P este rolle!! You were a sweet loving spirit!

  • EASY CREDIT RIP-OFFS!!

  • Shame on you Esther Rolle!

  • They were just a popularity bubble, sorta like the PSA's from the late 80s/early 90s.

  • "Tell dem Florida sent you" LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • a mess

  • RIP Florida Evans!

  • this commericail is from either 1995 or 1996 classic this was before she got really sick and i love her shes beautiful inside out!!!!!!!!!!

  • No, don't tell them Esther sent you, tell them Florida sent you.

  • R.I.P Florida

  • Esther Rolle died in 1998 from complications of diabetes.

  • Aint that the girl from Diary of a Mad Black Woman?

  • lmao. no i know whobyou think she is but that is not her

  • No but she played on "The Brothers" as the dad's new girlfriend that he brought to the party

  • what in the world!

  • @kholyheck

    "Ensther Rogue" ???

    lmao

  • Comment removed

  • Oh, Esther ... why, why, why?

  • LOLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • I liked her as Florida Evans. She was really lowering herself with this stuff.

  • This commercial makes me sad for some reason... Maybe because I don't like the idea of a nice lady and talented actress like Esther having to do this kind of work. Oh well. RIP Esther. Thank you for the memories.

  • @cometrally

i like totally agree, she is so down the earth and i thought they was playin but when i saw her i started to cry because well, i think they forced her with money.

  • @cometrally I AGREE OUT OF HER CHARACTER

  • wow!!!

  • This isn't something Florida would ever be for.

  • damn, Damn, DAMN!

  • LMAO, I forgot all about that from the show. What a perfect quote for this commercial.

  • @lusciousadria WHAT THE?

  • probably takes 25 minutes of waiting to talk to the "psychic". I forgot all about this commercial...

  • Wow.... she must have been pretty hard up for the cash. : /
