  • thank you:)

  • @adamthewoo Checkout the video "Edward Scissorhands in Lakeland Florida" by @Burt8814. He shot his video of that shopping center 5 months before you. There was a Wine business where the beauty salon was. Thumbs Up on your video.

  • That's so cool. Imagine living there, you could rightfully say that Johnny Depp has been inside your home and hung out on your block.

  • What an awesome little documentary! thanks for uploading!

  • Good Video. I went to Saint Leo University which is only a few exits north of this subdivision. A lot of people don't know that the crew built a facade of Edward's castle in Dade City Florida. It was built northwest of town on a road called Platt rd.

  • perfect

  • You guys should do one about Good Burger if you're ever in the area.

  • wow pretty cool...thanks for this video :)

  • Tim Burton chose that neighborhood just as it was newly constructed and had no landscaping other than lawns. It personified the "suburban" image he wanted to parody. He just painted the houses weird colors and painted them back as normal when finished. You can barely recognize the neighborhood now that it is grown up with trees and matured. I live near there and drive through occasionally. The mall in Lakeland is about an hour's drive away. Editing made it all look like one community.

  • Very cool video, Thanks for making and uploading! I live in this city and go by Southgate all the time and we always say "Theres Edward" or "Theres Johnny" (sp?)! I have never been to the nighborhoos yet but thats on my list. Did the wine shop close down recently? It useto be open and could have gone inside?!!? The guy working there said he gets at lest 1 person a week come into the shop and ask questions about the movie ect. Thanks again! Awesome movie!

  • did anyone in the neighborhood like yell at you for filming their houses (while they were in it)? But thanks for filming anyways :)

  • @AlmostMichaelJackson I am sure they get it ALL the time. I would not mind. As long as they were not bothering me I would not care. I personally would want people to... Kinda like rubbing it in lol ;)

  • It's amazing how much difference a few trees make.

  • It's pronounced, "LOOTZ"

  • good stuff adam

  • the neighborhood actually looks like a regular ordinary neigborhood lol

  • now you need to go behind ET's house in california! i want to see it so bad from the back

  • 2 cool man thanks

  • Dude, I live in Lakeland not even 3 blocks from Southgate! Cool to see you come to my hometown!

  • Ace!

  • Very cool! Thank you so much.. I've been hitting all of the spots all over the country with different films.. Feel free to look at some of my vids.. Great job!

  • Love your videos and your sense of humor!! Keep posting and I'll keep watching!

  • @valerierandom don't buy a house filmed in a movie then.

  • You totally like video taped my house ........ I'm not sure if I should be angry or flattered.

  • Wow! That was really interesting! :) If I had seen these locations I would have shat bricks. xD

  • You're aware that you're completely mispronouncing "Lutz," right?

  • ...empty from the 70s until Tim Burton renovated the building to a restaurant just for the scene in 1990.

Great find and appreciated your dedication. I live near Tampa and had no idea until tonight.

  • enjoyed! Had just finished watching JDepp on DLetterman show (rerun) for Tourist... JDepp mentioned filming this movie...he said when he was doing the running scene down the street by take 8 or 9 he "overheated" and ducked between two houses and "let loose". Upchucked!

Also, the shop with the electrical box was recently a wine store (watched a similar video from May 2010 and the guy filming interviews the owner?). Anyways, the guy mentions how the building across the street had been...

  • its pronounced luuuuutz

  • Very good Adam, I've just taken notice of your videos and I'm watching a majority of them now. I too love old abandoned buildings and parts of history left to decay on their own accord. The fact that we leave buildings as they sit is disturbing and odd, I mean who leaves a hotel with loads of laundry still in the machine? When you move out you pack up everything you moved in with right? I don't get it. Keep postin more abandoned attractions! I love it! Thank you very much.

  • adam,

you guys did a fantastic job. as much as i enjoyed the photos, this video is just gold. thanks for your hard work and determination, you rock!

  • I go to Southgate all the time to go shopping at Publix. It's so cool to see actual filming was done in Lakeland.

  • Very cool. I always thought the street they lived on was a set.

  • I really enjoyed this! Really well done! Thank you! :)

  • I went to college there for a year and a half. the waterboy was filmed at fsc, nearby. in edge hall.

  • 55 seconds in made my day. So funny! I didn't know Edward Scissorhands was filmed in Florida! I ASSumed it was California. Very awesome.
