Before this calf was born the mother ate some hay with a weed that was probably poison. She ate it in a critical time in her pregnancy which caused the the calf to form wrong. It is so important to have clean hay. Some times when you buy it you do not know for sure if it has the poison weeds. She was a very sweet calf but could not eat. She was put to sleep by the vet. It broke my heart.

@inspector010 No, if you understand biology then you would know the difference between evolution and birth defects. Evolution is not seen (probably why religious people deny it) because it takes hundreds of thousands of years for a noticeable change. Some animals, chickens for example, show dinosaur-like traits (teeth) when they are still embryos.

The cow basically has a ridiculously insane split palate - that somehow remained symmetrical (likely early in gestation) so its sinuses are split down the middle and the mouth developed in between where the nose should have developed.

It's likely that, aside from the potential of weird infections (and maybe other problems unseen inside her body) that the cow is otherwise healthy. However, they're likely to put her down regardless.

This video spent far too long chronicling what had to have been a brief, uncomfortable life. Without a means to breathe, it couldn't have nursed without aspirating, which would have caused fatal pneumonia. If this had happened on MY farm, I'd have called my veterinarian immediately to arrange for euthanasia and shot maybe half as long a video as documentation, period, while awaiting his/her arrival. I don't get the posts that either demonize this animal or regard it as cute.
