    I'm speechless........

  • It was in 1969. I was on the atlantic sea on a ship bound for United States. One of the guys have this great song with himon a LP. We played it all the time during the journey and today it is the the song I have in my ears when I think back. It is actually 43 years ago but the song last all the way - amazing

  • Music from The Golden Ages, fabulous.

  • What a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song, thank God we don't have to rely on today's music for quality entertainment!

  • Have always loved this song! Would love to have them play it here in Ohio!

  • Isn't the first line supposed to be "Skip the life and dangle." ?

  • @pathon2 We skipped the light fandango turned cartwheels across the floor

  • One of the best songs to ever exist, performed impeccably even at such an age!

  • he is like wine... older, better...

  • It is an amazing performance, I love this song since i heard it the first time about 30 years ago or so.

  • I LIVED IN TAIWAN, BUT I LOVED THIS SONG VERY VERY MUCH.

  • Magnificent...As it was live in 1969 at a California Concert Hall...It's still a thrill to hear and see MR. Brooker and the power of this Classic song and his distinct Vocals !! Beautiful !!.

  • I love this song, so much so much.... until I die

  • spectacular!

  • Mesmerized is the word...

  • Mesmerized is the word...

  • To many people stuck on the Beatles. They were good, but?

Long live Proco Harum. Moody Blues and ELP.

  • This song came out 7 years before I was born yet I believe it is one the most beautiful songs ever written and this rendition is just nothing short of amazing. I am usually not a big fan of symphonies in songs that aren't already a symphonic song however for this piece, it just adds so much more depth to an already deep, beautiful song. Thank you for sharing it.

  • This came out when I was in high school. Without a doubt... this is the finest version I've ever heard. Pure magic.

  • I get joy seeing that so many other people get the same intense type of listening pleasure to this.I found this song to be one of the most moving pieces that I have ever heard.

  • That was the most beautiful version I have heard of this song. What a masterpiece!!

  • What a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song, thank God we don't have to rely on today's music for quality entertainment!

  • By far the best version other than the original. Love the strings

  • Amazing re-imagining of the song, what a vocal.

  • released the year I was born. What a masterpiece!!!!!

  • I believe that this is God himself singing this...Pure perfection Gary Brooker you are a Legend in every sense of the word..Thank you so much for this masterpiece...

  • Really beautiful song, fabuleux !!

  • Это LoM

  • this song should have a "love" botton... like is not counting in here :/

  • Tá cantando muito ainda !!!

  • yes, this is it !!

  • Beautiful just beautiful

  • I can not believe after all this time, how Gary Brooker sings this with even more conviction, heart and soul than when it was first written..........just sar in awe with a few tears in my eyes!!..........beautiful, just beautiful..!!!

  • Tears in my eyes, every time i listen this...

  • @NenadRake I get them too don't quite understand why, but the song moves me in a spiritual way and I don't understand that either. I listen to lots of music but it is so rare that i get this feeling from a song.

  • I cant tell what this is because it is too big to explain - maybe this is one of the most importent moments in our life when we are listening to something bigger than life it self. Hard to understand how any can make a song like this and at the same time be human ? This is the song I expect from the creatures from another planet when they meet us for the very first time. Thank you !

  • @bechize i'm agree with you. it is not possiblr to descrive these sempsantion. it is a deep message, the music can only.do.. sorry for my english.

    by.

  • What an honor..for them and more so for us...thank you for sharing!!

  • You just don't hear music like this anymore unless you go back in time. This is the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. His voice still has that beautiful clarity. Age only made it better.

  • Interpretazione meravigliosa, orchestra, e procol harum ad altissimo livello. come posso scaricare questo video live qualcuno mi aiuti. grazie.

  • Just simply amazing...

  • Spectacular.

  • Danke fùr dieses Video. Es ist ein Geschenk fùr mich. Dieser Song begleitet und tröstet mich schon fast mein ganzes Leben. Danke Procol Harum.

  • what a fantastic version of a classic unforgettable musical masterpeice ///////////////////

  • Oh my gosh.. How awesome is this?? Wow... Wow..

  • it is a blessing to prove that a classical piece it is still so actual and peaceful, I love it. And of course the adaptation of it to a beautiful contemporary song. Awesome!!!

  • 40 years later it is just as beautiful

  • Gave me chills..haha

  • I absolutely love this song, and the setting for this performance is stunning. Brooker & Reid raised the bar when writing the No.1 lyrics, breaking the must have repeatition and must mention the word love at least twenty times rule, what masters of their art, superb. I have seen this video so many times and I am still absorbed by Gary's voice, the keyboards and the strings. Like all classics, this song has proven itself to be timeless. Well done chaps. Respect.

  • Just stunning....love this band since ah was a youth...he still holds his voice so well....listen to Salty Dog from the same show.awesoms.......

  • I heard this song on House MD series, and this is definitely a great song! Just perfect, just beautiful way more than most of the song composed this day.

  • I was scared to hear Procol Harum play this after so many decades but it blew me away. It reinforces my belief that musicians from the 60's were quantum levels better than the style over substance musicians that get all the attention today.

  • I can't find a superlative to describe this. I'll just have to settle for beautiful.

  • absolutely stunning!

  • This may even be better than the original, and that was a tough act to follow.

  • Very haunting but beautiful at the same time.I've heard many versions over the years but this is the best by far.

  • GREAT!!!!

  • evidence that music "keeps you young!"

  • youtube has a bug... the dislike button

  • IMPRESIONANTE! Me encanto esta version!

  • Beautiful

  • man, after all this years his voice has not change a bit.

  • the strings are giving me shivers....

  • Awesome...so many of the great artist of this era sadly don't sound close to their younger selves, but this performance is off the charts in my opinion!! I have always loved this song and this has only renewed my enjoyment listening to them sing! <3

  • This days it is a darker shade of dark...watch out

  • Brooker sounds just as he did in 1968. Amazing!

  • quando vedo queste operazioni di "mercato" non mi rassegno al ricordo di grandi musicisti innovativi....i'm sorry that is beasy......

  • great melody but I dont like the lyrics

  • The original recording achieved 6 Weeks at number one on the charts from 8 June 1967, having only been released less than a month earlier on 12 May 1967 - and being their debut album ... it speaks volumes ....

  • I bet the orchestra have played this Bach tune several times before.

  • We are Aliens and we want this song to be ours....

  • I was so crushed by seeing this the first time, I played it like 50 times in a row. The song was so good out of the studio, and this arrangement is spectacular. Gary Brooker sounds revitalized on this incredible performance.

  • Muito Lindo.....Som Matador......

  • absolutely classic, think of it those school days, such a memories, thx for posting it.

  • All good memories with this wonderful song ! I was young! I listen it on the radio and I loves it!

  • Absolutely spectacular! I'm completely blown away by this performance, especially Gary Brooker's singing. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • they should get him on the xfactor and say this is what real music is!...

todays 'pop' music just doesnt compare to this in any way what-so-ever.

  • @darrensymes I so agree

  • WOW.... I just found my new favorite Youtube video. I like it better than the original version....

  • The best video in YouTube, simple as that.

  • speechless

  • I was sixteen when this song came out. I loved it then and I love it now. Many say this is the greatest rock song ever written. I agree!

  • MY FATHER ALWAYS SING THIS SONG...

  • Gary Brooker nails it again.Im glad his voice is still strong, what a great performance.

  • One of the best songs ever

  • i have heared this song by a dozen artist but the best one i liked was with the big hammon organ byprocol harum

  • I have have heard this song many times and liked it, but this performance in particular was quite moving. I am not quite sure of the meaning but it is a very contemplative song. When you hear it it brings you back to places forgotten, both good and sad. Very moving moving rentition!

  • bravo mr gary brooker! a grandma fan.

  • i love listening to this song each day every morning. great performer gary brooker.

  • my uncle slash father died in 1989. this was the song on repeat thu his funeral. i cry eveyrtime i hear it. i miss you uncle rick

  • I am speechless.

  • This makes me feel sad and so old. It reminds me of my youth and all those beautiful moments that are now memories..... Love this song!

  • Incredibly perfect. Thank you.

  • great performance, great music, great Gary as usual; just different rings, not so big as 40 years ago;

  • I agree with most of the comments on this posting. If you want to see the greats, they are mostly on youtues,.....thank God for the folks that post them. You can spend your day watching the great ons.

Also there are great one that we will never hear about posting on youtube. All of you know someone that you have found and just can't believe has not made a living singing or writing songs. I have found a few that have more talent that what you see on TV and hear today.

    Now just think about it.

  • This performance is Epic.Great arrangement.

  • His voice is still gold......

  • Bloody brilliant !!! Gary looks as happy as a pig in ....!

  • This is really really really awesome.

  • Every time I hear a new version of this song I found a new meaning.

This song turns my soul into air.

    The arrangement is wonderful.

It's so sad to see how the mankind lost its way.

  • Amazing! Absolutely just takes your breath away. Incredible Performance.

  • diffently evolved from its original raw content to a masterful production, so we can only hope that for more artist! The crowd calls out for more....

  • typing justin beiber and lady gaga is crime on this page

  • @Nuyenvan,this magnificent song is based on the glorious "Air in G String",from the immortal J.S. Bach.

  • Gary Brooker sounds exactly like he did in 1968...incredible!

  • Simply, excellent! Better than the original one of the Sixties.

  • Nice minor key intro

  • This is simply Magic!

  • Reading the entire lyrics to this piece, I am suddenly reminded of the movie Night Tide with Dennis Hopper and Marjorie Cameron. I am reminded, too, of Jimi Hendrix's 1983 A Merman I Should Turn To Be. I always liked this tune ever since it first came out inn 1967. I am impressed with the singer. He did not lose his vigor with age, but actually his musicianship has improved! Amazing!!

  • fenomenallll

  • WHERE IS THE BAND?

  • WOW excellent!

  • that's an excellent questions, billsurf101.. I do appreciate how lucky I was to hear so much great stuff in the 60s, and (mostly) 70s, just as it was being created and performed.. ; /

  • Music is evidence of God. I need no other.

  • i doubt any musician today can write a symphony and add lyrics and make a classic. nights in white satin, all you need is love, whiter shade of pale, etc. we need to bring music back

  • Wow! Enough said!

  • Thank god this was my era. If i could turn the clock back 40 yrs. Oh such sweet music and memories.

  • We played this one year in marching band..All I've got to say about it is--AMAZING! Just the song/music in general.

  • Whew, this took my breath away. Absolutely beautiful.

  • What a wonderful song

  • MAMA MIA !!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDD!!

  • Wow, what more is there to say?

  • Wonderful song its amazing i love it

  • my dad was listening to this the other day, and all i can say is amazing, why cant we have musicians like this nowdays instead of justin beiber or lady gaga?

  • @billsurf101 The wonderful thing about music is that it is forever. Yesterday's songs, tomorrow's tunes, today's melodies. We are blessed to live during a time where all music of the past is ours to celebrate. There's always good music. We just have to be willing to find it.

  • @billsurf101 You do. You just haven't heard their music yet.

  • @billsurf101 Because the bean counters have taken over the music industry. They create performers like Justin Bieber that do not write their own music and target them towards specific audiences. It's all about the dollars. I've never seen such a lack of talent in the music industry as we have today. It's pretty sad!

  • @billsurf101 we do have musicians like this nowadays, your just making no attempt to find these musicians, and your shutting your mind off to the possibilities of their existance. If you are so concerned why don't you make your own music.

  • @billsurf101 : We got them (at least in Denmark) but they're lacking the appreciation from the public in general. My guess is that we haven't got time for other things than easy-listening...

  • If music was heaven, this is it.

  • joe cocker?...

  • having a goose bumps hearing this song .jo cocker is the man..

  • Awesome... Can't stop listening to it.

  • NO CABE DUDA,EL QUE ES PERICO DONDE SEA ES VERDE.IMPRESIONANTE INTERPRETACION DE UNAS DE LAS CANCIONES CLASICAS.
