  • Loved this commerc when i was a kid , Thanks so much !

  • I, too, have been looking for this for years! Thanks for restoring it!

  • Larry Kert originated the role of Tony in West Side Story. I remember how beautiful his voice was when I was a kid. Nice to know that 40 years later it still holds up.

  • I was walking through an airport today humming this commercial and I wondered if could be here. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

  • haha mr. bentley from the jeffersons.

  • Ahhh I am drinking Schafer Right Now!!

  • That was my favorite commercial as a kid.

  • The singer's name was the late Larry Kert.

  • This is awesome! I have been looking for this for years. It used to be on the Mets games all the time on Channel 9 in the 1970's. I hope every one noticed Paul Benedict in the commercial. He played Mr. Bentley on the Jeffersons

  • The best Schaefer Beer ad of all time. It's too bad there was no "America's Got Talent" 50 years ago. He would have been a superstar overnight. Does anyone know who the singer was?

  • This has been in my head for years. Nice to see it again.

  • Good restoration job. I remember this commercial like it was yesterday. Weird.

  • Fantastic Tim !!! This really brings back memories. Thanks for the post !

  • Yankee game memories for me too! Thanks!

  • Haven't seen that commercial in years.Brings back great memories of watching the Yankee game with my father, and the empty schaefer cans rolling around in his car .Thank you.

  • This is the first time I've ever seen this ad in color. I remember it fondly, but one of my elementary schoolmates probably doesn't. He and someone else (not me) came to blows over it. The teacher who split them up asked what happened and one fellow said, "I said, 'Do the Schaeffer jingle and he amped out on me!" The "Ampers" last name was, of course, "Schaeffer".

This ad may not have looked this good when it was originally broadcast!

  • One of the classics. Thanks.

  • I remember this commercial from when i first started watching the Yankees in 1972 thank you sooo MUCH!!!!!

  • Great! My only gripe is that you cut away in the last second so you don't get to see the guy gently tap the singer's leg as he says, "Not bad, kid."

  • My favorite commercial ever.

  • Terrific!!

  • Thank you. Brought tears to my eyes and great memories..

  • Aw man. My dad was a Schaefer truck driver for 40 years. I have his gold watch. He would bring the truck home on occasion and take me for rides. I miss him. Thanks for the memories.

  • Wow, that brings back memories. Thanks. I think I need a kleenex...........

  • I have ben wanting to see the truck driver commercial for a long time. Thanks for providing it. Nice remaster job. Kevin MacCarthy

Okay now find The Lymon Commercial with Terry-Thomas

    Thanks again

  • fabulous!

  • I believe the singing truck driver is Larry Kert, who played Tony in the original Broadway cast of West Side Story & Bobby in Company

  • Vitaphonedisc, you are a real master at these videos!

  • I love this commercial while watching N.Y. Rangers hockey.Just sing!!!

  • Yeah, I remember this one- especially the "Not bad, kid" tag at the end...this aired during the New York Mets games on WOR-TV around 1970.

  • Glad you like my work! Thank You

  • Nice set of pipes on the new guy.

At 1:00 on the left, you'll see Paul Benedict, who played Harry Bentley, the English neighbor on "The Jeffersons."

Benedict wasn't really English. He died about a year ago.

Great job remastering these classics. Excellent stuff. Thanks for posting.
