In terms of PURE SKILLS, not Championship rings because that can be highly overrated at times, I think Olajuwon was the greatest center or Power Forward ever. If you look at his offensive skills a lone, NO ONE COMES CLOSE. And he was one hell of a rebounder and shot blocker too.
diegoris23 amazing, what else is there to say?. Everyone who plays basketball need to all know the way to dunk, I simply just a short while ago finished the training course over at "50-inch-vertical[dot]com" - it's the best course available (Guess what, I'm only 5 7!)
If you noticed Robert Horry has a bandage on his wrist...The Knick tried to bully him like they used to do Pippen and after they Hurt him Horry just turned to a beast and started dunking on everyone!! Loved he got in Oakley's face after the dunk!!!!
i don't know much about him but i still really like Ewing, but has he ever won anything ?? Poor thing lost 2 NBA finals and even before his NBA career he lost to MJ's North Carolina's team. Plus he got shit on by the bulls (MJ and Pippen dunking on him)...
Ewing, actually, put up the best fight against the Dream out of every legendary center he faced. In '95, Robinson was just destroyed, and Shaq did his share of posters on Olajuwon but couldn't guard him no matter what. Ewing fought it out to seven games, where the Knicks collapsed only thanks to an incredibly poor, infamous Starks' 2-for-17 shooting night. Honestly, the fairest thing would be Knicks taking it in '94 and Rockets a year later, but it doesn't always end up the way it should.
I think the biggest mistake what the Knicks did in 93 to 96 was getting soft Charles Smith instead to let Xavier McDaniel. 90's Knicks just had an average PG. Ward, Childs aren't even close to guys like A. Johnson, Payton or Stockton. Letting Mark Jackson it would be just O.K. Most important and underrated. The free throws in mid 90's was horrible. That doomed the Knicks in game 7 against the Pacers in the 95 and game 3 on this series. No discipline with the free throws. We got what we deserved
Maybe not but they had the best player in the world! I like on how Ewing's dunks, Olajuwon's on the bench! lol. Then O.T. dunks on his face, literally! Check the replay! #7 was weak. #5 was 5 steps! Top 4 plays...All Olajuwon! Dunk, dunk, game winning assist, game winning block! Poor Ewing, never stood a chance. Shouldn't feel too bad, he did that to everyone. Hell, Kobe just learned from "the master shogun" himself this summer! Schooling Kobe!! Need I say more?
Teams like the Knicks or Jazz couldve won multiple championships in the 90s if it werent for Jordan and the Bulls. The Rockets couldve won more championships too. I dont think ANY of these teams are worse than the 4 time winning Lakers of this decade.
#3 was awesome. haha, and now it is 15 years and counting since the knicks have made it to the finals. it will probably be another 20 unless they coax LBJ or wade
i never knew that part.I have read that JORDAN was very upset with the trade, he and Oak were great friends. He did not like cartwright for a long time but finally realized it was a successful trade.
cuz he hated jerry krause who made the trade. he and oakman still play golf together. but bill cartwright helped the bulls neutrailize ewing in the playoffs. so i said the bulls got a better end of the deal. did you know starks later play for the bulls and was booed heavily by the chicago fans?
EVERYBODY on the bulls Hated Krause, he had NO PEOPLE SKILLS! You're right mr bill played great d on ewing and that helped the bulls get into 3 finals.
Starks was the kind of player that could shoot you back into the game OR shoot you OUT of a game.Watching the playoffs i remember hubie brown saying that the knicks will let teams back in the game ! no killer instinct?
that's why you need Allan "HOUSTON"! Latrell THREEwell could have helped too. and Larry Johnson would have made a 4 point play on Olajuwon on that last shot.
well, they couldn't beat the Spurs... And don't come with "but Patrick was injured and couldn't play... Otherwise NY would have won it in 4!" If he hab been healthy Spree wouldn't have played so well! That's just simple truth because they wouldn't have focused on Spree to score...
The 1993-94 NBA season was an epic one to say the least..it was only fitting that the world championship series came down to a #7 that year..it was underrated at that..
oakley could have won championships with the bulls. but they traded him to the knicks for bill cartwright. it must have hurt him so much getting ousted by his former team all the time.
Actually it gets repeated every year by the losing team in the Finals, no? Need 7 games and a gift call to get past a Jordan-less Bulls only to lose in the Finals, Something Jordan never did. Also getting preempted by the OJ chase. Yeah, pure epic drama!!
The Bulls even with Jordan would loose to the '94 and '95 Rockets.
Remember that in 1993 the Bulls WITH Jordan went 57-25 and in 1994 WITHOUT Jordan they went 55-27. That's the first reason it took the Knicks 7 games to throw them out.
Yeah, and the '93 knicks wouldn't have beat the Suns, etc., etc. The only reason the Bulls may have lost to the Rockets is cause they were a tired team, and rightfully so. Winning 3 in a row back in those days was quite an exhausting feat and the rockets just may have caught them at the right time had it been the case of a Jordan-led Bulls going for a 4th. Those Rocket Championships are practically forgotten anyways.
In 1996 the Knicks were not so good (47-35) and still they gave a so hard time to the Bulls in the playoffs (72-10). The Bulls won clearly, I mean without the refs, only game 5 of that series. So picture what would have happened in the 1997 playoffs. The Knicks were abusing the Heat (61-21), beating them whenever they wanted, and easily.
Everybody knows that in 1997 the Knicks would have beaten the Bulls. Everybody knows this was the biggest crime of NBA history, robbing the Knicks in the 2nd round...
No they blew it because they were ROBBED: Ewing just stood up from the bench to see what happened and they disqualified him from game 6. The Knicks just stood up and they got ejected.
From Miami, only PJ Brown was ejected from games 6&7, even though Miami started it. From the Knicks, Houston, Ward and Ewing from game 6, LJ, Starks and Ward from game 7, while none of them threw a single punch or push...
of course they would beat the suns. the suns sucked at home in the playoffs that year. the sonics and the suns were inferior to the bulls and the knicks that year.
94 and 95 rockets might not beat the bulls, but the 97 lineup of olajuwon, barkley, and drexler would beat the bulls. or maybe not. oh well there is no scientific proof anyway, they never played each other in the finals.
in 97 the rockets with those three MIGHT have taken the bulls. It would have been a great matchup. Could the HR have beaten the bulls in the FIFTH game the one where Jordan was sick as a dog and STILL dropped 38 on utah? we'll never know.
barkley would be like malone missing the 2 free throws in game 1. the rockets had a more a atheletic defensive player in clyde drexler instead jeff hornacek. elie was a better defender than russell i think. and they would never doubled pippen and left jordan open for the threes. i say the rockets would take the middle 3 games.
The second reason was the fact that Phil Jackson ordered JoJo English (his worst playa) to get ejected along with 1 of the Knicks' starting guards, he DID it, and Harper lost games 3,4,5. Remember that the Bulls won game 3 at the buzzer so with Harper in, it would be Knicks in 4 or in 5 games.
Semantics, whatever. The fact that that Bulls team did go 55-27 and pushed the Knicks to 7 shows the heart of that team and why it's one of my favorite teams. Fact is ewing 0-1 in Finals.
Jordan 6-6. and Patrick never beat Michael. That's all I need to know. The rivalry sure made the 1st 3-peat a lot more fun that the 2nd, that's for sure. Too bad the knicks couldn't stay competitive through '98 to keep the rivalry going till the end.
Don't say crap, the Knicks were better. In 1998 they were not good at all though, but in 1997 they were the best team in the world. If they hadn't been robbed (you know where) they would've disqualified the Heat 4-2 and it would be Knicks-Bulls 1997 ECF. THAT I think would have been the best series of all time, and I vote that the Knicks would pass in 6 or 7 games. In that reg. season the Knicks had the edge over the Bulls.
Man, Knicks fans are just never gonna swallow anything; when pride becomes stupidity...I think the Knicks had enough goddam chances to prove their worth throughout the 90's, but never went all the way. Bottom line. I mean, I'm a Blazers fan, and I'm not gonna say they were better than MJ's bulls in 92; I'm not gonna say they should've won G.7 of the Conference Finals against L.A in 2000...it just happened, and for a reason. So them NYK fans are just showing weakness if they keep arguing.
and where the fuck are the blazers now? what kinda a stupid team selected sam bowie instead of michael jordan. and who had all the good players in the nba, 15 point lead, and lost to the lakers. and who lost to a houston team without t-mac? think before you open your ignorant mouth!
