In terms of PURE SKILLS, not Championship rings because that can be highly overrated at times, I think Olajuwon was the greatest center or Power Forward ever. If you look at his offensive skills a lone, NO ONE COMES CLOSE. And he was one hell of a rebounder and shot blocker too.

Ewing, actually, put up the best fight against the Dream out of every legendary center he faced. In '95, Robinson was just destroyed, and Shaq did his share of posters on Olajuwon but couldn't guard him no matter what. Ewing fought it out to seven games, where the Knicks collapsed only thanks to an incredibly poor, infamous Starks' 2-for-17 shooting night. Honestly, the fairest thing would be Knicks taking it in '94 and Rockets a year later, but it doesn't always end up the way it should.

I think the biggest mistake what the Knicks did in 93 to 96 was getting soft Charles Smith instead to let Xavier McDaniel. 90's Knicks just had an average PG. Ward, Childs aren't even close to guys like A. Johnson, Payton or Stockton. Letting Mark Jackson it would be just O.K. Most important and underrated. The free throws in mid 90's was horrible. That doomed the Knicks in game 7 against the Pacers in the 95 and game 3 on this series. No discipline with the free throws. We got what we deserved

Top 4 plays...All Olajuwon! Dunk, dunk, game winning assist, game winning block! Poor Ewing, never stood a chance. Shouldn't feel too bad, he did that to everyone. Hell, Kobe just learned from "the master shogun" himself this summer! Schooling Kobe!! Need I say more?

1994 season was the best season in history. A simple regular season game from 93-94 is more exciting than any playoff or final game from the 00's!

Thh 1994 NBA playoffs were the more dramatic and epic of all time. The Knicks run of that year cannot be repeated.

Remember that in 1993 the Bulls WITH Jordan went 57-25 and in 1994 WITHOUT Jordan they went 55-27. That's the first reason it took the Knicks 7 games to throw them out.

Yeah, and the '93 knicks wouldn't have beat the Suns, etc., etc. The only reason the Bulls may have lost to the Rockets is cause they were a tired team, and rightfully so. Winning 3 in a row back in those days was quite an exhausting feat and the rockets just may have caught them at the right time had it been the case of a Jordan-led Bulls going for a 4th. Those Rocket Championships are practically forgotten anyways.

In 1996 the Knicks were not so good (47-35) and still they gave a so hard time to the Bulls in the playoffs (72-10). The Bulls won clearly, I mean without the refs, only game 5 of that series. So picture what would have happened in the 1997 playoffs. The Knicks were abusing the Heat (61-21), beating them whenever they wanted, and easily.

We should really have watched that series...

Semantics, whatever. The fact that that Bulls team did go 55-27 and pushed the Knicks to 7 shows the heart of that team and why it's one of my favorite teams. Fact is ewing 0-1 in Finals.

Jordan 6-6. and Patrick never beat Michael. That's all I need to know. The rivalry sure made the 1st 3-peat a lot more fun that the 2nd, that's for sure. Too bad the knicks couldn't stay competitive through '98 to keep the rivalry going till the end.

Don't say crap, the Knicks were better. In 1998 they were not good at all though, but in 1997 they were the best team in the world. If they hadn't been robbed (you know where) they would've disqualified the Heat 4-2 and it would be Knicks-Bulls 1997 ECF. THAT I think would have been the best series of all time, and I vote that the Knicks would pass in 6 or 7 games. In that reg. season the Knicks had the edge over the Bulls.
