What Buttercup was trying to say was it's completely natural for G.P.s, and other rodents, to eat their feces (coprophagy), because they can produce two kinds. The first is like everyone else's. The second is produced if their bodies lack some digestive enzymes. Eating poo in those cases puts some enzymes back in their systems. It's normal; many "coprophages" (i.e., most rodents) do it! 'Course, there's debate whether GPs are rodents. But that's another topic . . . We know they're "roadents!"
