Regional and global integration allows for better cooperation in economic endeavors and for nations to work together on issues like security, energy policies, monetary policies, infrastructure etc..

The Iraq War was never about WMD's or oil. The war centered around bringing the Middle East forward in term of governance..ie democracy.
