he said in an interveiw that hes in the best shape of his life and the only reason hes not playin is because nobody wants a 40 sometin year old centerfeilder
Hard to believe with all the playoff experience he had that he never won a ring. I bet he could still bring it if he decided to come back. The art of base stealing is lost - I'll put my money on a 50 year old Kenny Lofton to steal me second base over the juicers out there now.
Everything was in the correct order except for you got the cubs and Pirates mixed around. Lofton started the 2003 season with Pittsburgh, and was then traded to chicago. So Pittsburgh should have come before the cubs.
Its just sad that he lost in 1995 with clev. to my braves, 97 losing to the marlins with the braves, 98 losing to yankees in the alcs, 2002 losing the world series after being up 3-2 to the angels interference on reggie sanders 3 run home run by spezio of the angels, losing 4-3 after being up 3-1 agains the marlins, losing 4 straight to the red sox in 2004 alcs, 2007 alcs loss to the red sox. how many times does he need a charm? hes the best outfielder to not win a ws.
you got me there regarding teddy williams. but remember tell me what team has lofton not made a little better, its bullshit that u can get that many opportunities in life at a chance to win the big one, how many close but no cigars, it seems shit hits the fan for lofton everywhere he went, reggie sanders game 6 3-run home run fan interference, game 6 nlcs moises alou fan interference, too bad lofton was not with alou on the marlins instead of the braves in 1997. lofton can hit, run, and steal.
lol, he didn't make the Rangers or Dodgers any better when he was there. You feel bad for the guy, but how many people never even got a chance to play in a World Series and were better than Lofton? Griffey Jr, Andre Dawson, Ernie Banks, Lee Smith, Phil Niekro, Chuck Finley, etc. Lofton's speed made him a valuable asset to teams in the hunt for October. He was a spare part added to a bunch of different machines. It's not bullshit, it's baseball.
you are right about that, but let me ask you a question would you rather not go to the world series and come up short, david justice ruined it in game 6 in the 95 world series, spezio ruined it in game 6 in 2002, sometimes its better not to go to a championship, look at the buffalo bills my favorite team in football they lost 4 straight superbowls, andre beebe had to go to Green Bay to win a superbowl.
i remember kenny lofton on the wayans brothers. Ken griffey jr. almost went to the world series but lost to clev. in 6 with the mariners, do u remember that pivotal game 5 against the yankees buck showalters last year as manager, my friend went to the game in the kingdome, i heard every yankee signed autographs jorge posada was a complete asshole. i luv randy johnson the big unit, glad he won with the d-backs not those damn yankees. money doesnt always buy rings look at the 03 marlins.
Anybody remember those MTV softball games where it would be the MTV VJs/Celeberities vs. MLB players? It was a good 10-15 years ago but I used to love those shows and Lofton did it every year and was always great.
i luv jaimee moyer, man i think hes 47 and still pitching thats just fucking crazy and incredible. talk about great conditioning. clemens was pitching at 45 with the yankees.
Lofton's a funny dude.. he brings it every night, no question, but at the same time he has morale issues where he will bring everyone down if he isn't happy. I don't want to come out and call him selfish, but he does have a sense of entitlement about him.. you can't really blame him though, his resume backs it up. hall of famer?
its just sad hes been in 7 championship series and 2 ws appearances. 95,97,98,2002,2003,2004,2007. My God how can you not win, thats why life can be unfair. hes like the Dan Marino or Karl Malone of Baseball. You would think three times is the charm? I luvd Kenny, he had speed even in his latter part than most young bucks.
Dude, he was good in 1999 and broke his body. It's 2010 (2008 last reply), so he's done. He's out.
I still can't forget the slide that broke him though. That was a tough game all around. The beating from the Sox was enough, but to have Lofton hurt just ruined it.
Find some open source music for this stuff. I hate pictures, but it'd be tolerable with music.
Every team Kenny Lofton goes to, all of a sudden, they start chirning out wins every night:-D Well, except in Texas & Pittsburgh unfortunately. If there's 1 guy who deserves a ring that hasn't got one yet...he's the guy:-D
omg! where was I for some of his career?! LOL. I didn't realize how many teams he was on. Glad to see him back for a third time and hopefully he will end his career here.
kenny played for the pirates and THEN was traded to the Cubies in 2003 with Randall Simon and i think Ramirez went with them. But besides that, good representation of him
I really wished he would have played more than one season with Atlanta. I mean, they traded my favorite player (David Justice) for Lofton, so I would have liked to have seen him more. I liked having Lofton in Atlanta. I also wish they wouldn't have traded Jermaine Dye...but that's beside the point. Nice vid man.

Try Ted Williams as the best outfielder never to win a World Series.
