Is it possible to get anything other than appaling, ear-hurting noise out of the thing? Can it play tunes, or actual chromatic notes? Cos currently it's at the level of those light-driven things you leave in people's desks to annoy them.
The idea has potential, maybe modulating something on a proper keyboard, but who wants to hear a bunch of random dischordant non-notes? As I learned as a kid with a toy keyboard, ANY noise sounds good to the person making it.
@Loto9000 The output is Control Voltage, where the voltage level controls the pitch of the noise the synth makes. Was the standard for old analogue synths before MIDI was invented. So no, won't work on a guitar.
I know you can get midi-driven effects boxes for guitars. And there's such a thing as CV -> MIDI converters. So with effort, you could get it to drive an effect.
