Love the GM commercials. I think they're totally true and that they offer a much better value than the imports. In addition, I strongly feel that if you live in Canada or the U.S., you should support your home countries by buying locally. All of this supporting of imports rattles my nerves; people always think they're so good, but you don't hear it on television when tons of Toyota's get recalled because the media is stupid and only tries to sh*t in its own backyard.
Are you serious? the only reason these gm guys are trying to come out strong now is because the immigrant cars have been kicking their asses for years,i doubt any young individual would want to drive a big useless north american car taking half the street in a 4 lane.i am canadian and i prefer all my cars to be immigrants.most of gm parts are made in MEXICO anyways.
Easy. My dad bought a GMC with a 4.8L in August of 2008 and only now is starting to get decent fuel economy that, I might add isn't even at the advertised Toyota Tundra EPA. GM's response? "That's normal". I've grown up around GM my whole life and always favoured them over Dodge and Ford. Bailout money aside, I find these ads obnoxious- the LAST attitude GM should be taking. Confidence is one thing, but I guess that humble pie went right through these guys.
But they have to pull this type of stuff to get there market share back in North America, which is being lost to imports. They need to show that the misconceptions most people have about fuel economy aren't true, this is the best business attitude they can take.
Of of course- I'm glad they're making an effort, but to all of a sudden jump up and announce that there's this "contest" all of a sudden and make all kinds of snotty (sometimes untrue) remarks is not the right way to do it. Like I say, confidence is everything. Modesty works well too- in compliment of that. If they do have something to say about their cars, great. Took em long enough, but this is hardly modest; it's irritating.
GM Junk! It will be at least 8 years before I even consider a GM. Not until the reliability curves improve. I will admit the big 3 have made great strides in product quality but an 8 year old honda or toyota is still generally better than a 2 year old american branded vehicle. Do your homework.

GM is DISHONEST and does not honor its warranties.
They ripped me off and paid Sitel Corporation Employees to pose as GM Employees to deceive the Lemon Law Hearing Officer.
Most crooks are more honest then the CEO and Board of Directors of GM.
I have asked them to go on TV to adress my evidence but they are all scared of being exposed for the crooks they are.
The new Chairman Ed Whitacre is a big time crook. Check out Fox News.

Not entirely true any more, because the 8 year old imports where great, but now a days, a 2 year old Toyota and a 2 year old GM are the same.
