In 166 AD, the Romans sent diplomatic missions to Han China, and there were records of 6 more missions sent from Rome to China over the subsequent 50 years. It was recognised in Rome that China was one of the very great powers, 2000 years ago.

In 36 BC, a Han trade expedition defeat Roman legionaries at the Battle of Sogdania. The cause of the overwhelming defeat was thought to be that the crossbows used by the Han Chinese easily penetrated through Romans' shield and armour. However, some historians considered that those Romans were POWs captured by Parthians, who later put them on the battle against the Han Chinese.

I just watched the second part of the movie, red cliff 2. It was really amazing, the actors and actress are all very professional. But Battle of red cliff is only one of the famous battle in Chinese Three kingdom era, I wish the director can make more movies about this time

For centuries, 2000 years from Ancient China to 1830s, China have always been the number 1 economy with rich culture and powerful armies and technologies. Europeans were also very advanced, if not more than China in some areas but both sides have something to learn from each other. Documentaries quote that a Chinese city's commerce is matchable to an entire European nation during the Medieval Ages. If the Roman Empire didn't collapse, China would match with Rome, economic and technology masters.

Those legions of Rome were already outdated by the 3rd century CE...when most of the battles that occurred during the era of the Three Kingdoms. As for Ceasar, he was fighting unorganized armies--Tsao Tsao, Lieu Bei etc had been fighting on and off for over a decade at this point of the story. Plus you are trying to compare armies that never met and fought with different tactics and ideologies. But hey, the Roman legions fared great against the Parthians!

One good side note for you to think about. The Chinese army during Han dynasty had repeatedly defeated the Huns in Asia with their military tactics similar in this film. The Huns were divided up, and part of them were forced to migrate to Europe, which the Roman Empire could not match.

這就是中國衰退的原因了 語言問題 因為粵語有重低音,所以起伏大聽起來也帥氣 用起來會聰明更多 可是普通話,全部都是高音 用起來就平淡無奇,思想混亂.... 用普通話配動畫覺得不好,就是因為都高音 但是廣東話就不同了 這就是為什麼香港小小一個地方 卻可以創造這麼多奇蹟 唉 全部改說廣東話,保證中國會變超強
