  • i have your secret formula in my hair as i type :) hopefully it works on me , i havt naturall a deep red hair & i dyed it a navy/blue black ( the bottom half only)

  • Hey about just under a year ago i got my hair dyed at a salon, and went slightly lighter. After that i died it brown a couple of times and red, but because at the salon i had a medium brown and light brown added, i think that is why my hair is going different colours. And now at the moment my hair at the bottom is a lighter brown, nearer to my natural hair colour. However on top my hair is really dark brown/black do you think this could help my hair get back to all near enough one colour-ish, Ta

  • Does it matter what kind of Vitiman C you use..?

  • you are an angel 3 hank you soo much

  • my hair is red will this still work?

  • I've tried this a couple times and nothing major had happened. Not even a shade different. Kinda saddening. v.v

  • I dyed my hair black a few months ago, and its all faded, and I want it GONE! So, will this still work?

  • so if i had dark blond/light brown hair naturally n i dyed it a light color like strawberry blondish with permanent dye, would this work?

  • Is this damaging?

  • I can't believe ur askin for money?! Haha we all are goin through the same as u honey:(

  • @MissKrystyMartens It's completely optional just in case anyone wanted to help out, I need money for materials and thread that I don't have. There's nothing wrong with asking for the occasional 50p in return for the help you've given when you're struggling.

  • You: "And your going to crush them up.."

    Me: "And snort it?" :D

You: "You get a normal kind of shampoo..."

    Me: "Oh.."

  • Is this mixture supposed to be applied on wet hair or dry hair?

I dyed my hair black a few days a ago and it looks awful. Trying to look for ways to get rid of it as soon as possible without bleaching.

Please help out. And respond asap. Thanks

  • If my hair's like a dark burgundy/red, and i do this to all of my hair, would my hair turn out orange??

  • Will this work if I dyed my hair 5 months ago from dark blonde to light blonde? Please respond

  • Question: Would it be really harsh on my hair if i dyed it the next day?

  • i tryed this with head and sholders and it worked well

  • How many tablets would I need to strip all my hair??

  • Iv just tried this im now waiting for the time to come to an end then wash it out......i have brown hair at the min like a chesnuty brown maybe lighter i dunno im rubbish with colors but i want my natural which is mousey brown so i can get my extensions on wednesday to help make me look like i have more hair as lost alot through treatment through an illness :( x

  • I'm going to try this. thank you, I died my blonde hair dark dark brown and my roots are coming in and it bothers me :( so i've been trying to strip it out!! THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • I have one question...

I really want to try this but would it make my hair dry and damage? I have dark brown! It looks more black then brown! I want to dye it a lighter brown! I'm not scare of trying if is not going to damage my hair! Please help me :) thx

  • omg o.o crazy!! im so trying this!!

  • THIS WORKED. I followed it exactly :} I used a whole bottle (100 tablets) For alllll my hair. And it lightened my dyed Jet black hair, to a light brown :D

  • This works amazing! Thank you! I just did this to take out drk blonde that turned my hair ashy grey on the highlights. For the part when you let the shampoo sit on your hair, I just used everyday shampoo mixed with vit c and lemon juice, let it sit for a half hr-then i rinsed it out- and washed again with a handful of Head and Shoulders mixed with 1 tsp. baking soda, worked that through rinsed out, deep conditioned and it turned out beautiful! No trace of dark color or ash left! Yay :)

  • how weird is this?! i watched this when i wanted to get the purple out of my hair AGES ago, then i joined twitter and followed @onmyperiod, looked at your personal account and got linked to your youtube... KNEW i recognised you from somewhere! :P

  • How long will it take to strip black dye? I bleached it a long time ago to put red over it, but I've dyed it black a couple times since then. Will this actually remove all color to that orange look? I want to dye it dark red, and I only want it light enough for a dark red to show up.

  • This past September I had my hair dyed with bleach. I went from a dark brown/black to a golden/auburn color. Would this still work on my hair to strip the color and go back to being dark brown? Thank you :)

  • @Dodgerchick55

It won't strip bleach out as bleach itself strips your natural colour. If you are a lighter colour and want to go dark again, you'll need to put a dark dye on it.

  • how many tablets did you crush? or is there any ratio between the shampoo and the crushed tablets?

  • I have put a few dirty blonde streaks in my hair because my hair is a very light brown just a few weeks ago, then I bought very dark brown hair color and it looked awful on me so I followed ur steps and it got a majority out, then my blonde highlights turned orange but it's not that noticeable, thanks for the tip!

  • I used the vitamin c powder with baby shampoo, selsun blue shampoo and lemon juice..it turned to fizz, not paste? does this matter??

  • @SkylarWantsACookie2

That would be the lemon juice that turned it to fizz as it's a citric acid & will of had a reaction to the other ingredients. Just follow her steps.

  • Why can't u use the vitamin c chewable ones?

  • Please answer mine!!Ok so I Highlighted my hair a sunkissed blonde/dark blonde this past summer so its been about a year(little less)At first i loved it but Im 12 and I honestly cannot obtain my highlights..My natural hair color is a very light brown and a medium brown more on the bottom and i miss it!!Will this work!?(:

  • oh god... I have a LOAD of hair, i'm going to have to use so much vitamin c powder

  • would this work if i had dark brown hair and i dyed it blonde

  • @gracemk13 no because going lighter isnt dye its lightening which you cant take out with any sory of color stripping method even chemicals

  • Just wanted to drop a note and say I tried the vitamin c, used head and shoulders and wow! It did lighten the hair considerably. Not as light as I want. I'm on my 3rd try. However my hair feels fantastic. soft, silky, no additional damage! Thanks so much. I think due to the color, an intense permanent red, that it's taking more try's to get there. Just really appreciate your information. thanks for sharing!!

  • Soooooo. My hair is dyed black but it's fading to like brown now. Can I use this method? Then bleach it. I want my natural blonde back.

  • well, i had blonde hair, semi-permanent died it dark brown, will this get it out?

  • I am definitely trying this! I dyed my hair soft black in hopes of it fading out over winter so I could color it something else for spring, but it's not fading fast enough and now my roots are coming in. This shampoo/vitamin C stuff sounds like a good idea. :) Thanks for the vid.

  • After washing the hair removal paste, do i need to wash it again with shampoo?

  • @erkoha @youdontevenknow7

This should strip out any dye you put on your hair. What she was trying to say is that it won't strip bleach because bleaching and dyeing your hair are two totally different things. When you dye your hair, you're adding pigment. When you bleach it, you're stripping away the natural color.

I have naturally ash brown hair that's really thin, and I dye it an auburn color regularly. When I want to switch it up, I strip the color out using this method and dye it two day

  • i tried this today. I've been dying my hair a dark auburn for about six months now (my hair is naturally a light brown) this took my hair from auburn to a coppery color. I will definitely be using this method again to further lighten the color.

  • I have used anti dandruff shampoo for the last 4 years because it's all my mum buys. It has little or no impact on the colour removal, or it would have removed my colour before I have also used this method with Treseme which is what my dad buys. works just as well. Stop claiming it's the head and shoulders. ta

  • Hey what kind of vitamin c? Because I have some vitamin c chewable tablets. Do they work?

  • @EveryGirlzMakeup07 It should do

  • @EveryGirlzMakeup07 you need the ones you can crush up to make a paste, not the chewy ones :)

  • @EveryGirlzMakeup07 the chewable tablets is what she means.. if you can crush em up into a powder then thats what shes saying to use

  • @EveryGirlzMakeup07 the chewable tablets is what she means.. if you can crush em up into a powder then thats what shes saying to use

  • r u sure it works for permanent colour?

  • if u said you did this on black hair, what color does the hair turn out like afterwards?

  • You know you don't have to add the other stuff to the head shoulders. A few months ago I was curious, I had purple hair dye in my hair and I wanted it out. I left in for a few mins and it faded. If I knew more about h&s the purple would be out by now :/. It's been 4 months w/ the color still.

  • trying this, wish me luck

  • Its the lemon. Not sure what the C does.

  • I know you said this worked with normal shampoo but head and shoulders has things in it to strip the layer of skin off your scalp to reveal a new layer of skin (this is why dandruff gets worse before it gets better)...It alone would obviously strip the colour out of your hair. We did a test in our salon, we put head and shoulders on a bit of the wall everyday for a week and by the end of the week the paint had stripped right off, it kinda shows what it does.

  • So i tried this on hott pink hair and it did nothing. The only thing i got from this was a burn on my neck :( i added a little lemon juice and it burned me so a tip for people leaving this in for a long time is DONT USE LEMON JUICE! It sucks! After my neck heals im going to just bleach the pink out.

  • Hey. so if you just dyed your hair a normal color, say a different shade of brown or blonde or red, and you put it through all your hair, would it remove the color?

  • Can you use Vitamin E tablets:/?

  • Hello .....I colored my hair with light brown ,but my originaly color is dark brown if I will use this metod can my color of my hair that i had will come back ?

  • Didn't completely take it out, but it took about a layer of the color off. The stuff we bought at the store did nothing at all, and this stuff took off like an entire layer.

    Highly recommend :)

  • How you do you bangs PLEASEE

  • So about 2 months ago i used a semi permanent dye called special effects atomic pink on the underneath layer of my hair and it refuses to come out! I really hope this works because i really dont wanna bleach my hair :(

  • would it still work if the shampoo is a light colour?:)

  • HI THERE I DYED MY HAIR RED A COUPLE DAYS AGO AND HATE IT WILL THIS WORK TO GET IT OR OUT AND THE RED TINT OUT PPPLLLZZZZZ REPLY

  • My natural hair was brown with an orange/ish highlights.. anywho i went to a saloon and wanted a dark brown with redish highlights.. it turned out to be all red and i absolutely hate it.. would this work ? I miss my natural hair color :'(

  • Would this work on black?

  • so this wouldn't really work on black hair

  • @wloks the colour in the video was very close to black, it worked.

  • @wloks i dyed my hair a couple days ago and the color was way to dark i wanted a dark brown and got black hair. When i used vitamine c with shampoo it realy worked and now my hair is the exact color that i wanted it to be!:) thank you so much Abiicanfly i don't know what i would of done without your video & your help :)

  • I've had my hair blonde for a few months now, and on Friday I had my hair done red & black at a salon and I hate it. It's black underneath & red on top, do you think this method will work at all on my hair? My problem is I work 6 days a week, so finding the time to do it several times would be difficult. If you don't think it'd work is there anything you can reccommend to get me back to my natural colour/blonde without bleaching it? I've killed my hair with bleach too >_<

    Thanks,

    Olivia x

  • do you think this might work on black dye? my hair is naturally medium brown. :P

  • ive been looking for this on google and yahoo and wiki and all those crap websites and i come on youtube and here it is

    FUCCK!!!

  • I just did this and it works! I had a dark red/burgundy permanent color in. The first time I did it I let it stay on for 40 minutes but it was still too red. The second time I let it sit for 2 hours and it stripped most of the color off and left me with a nice light/medium brown color. I then put a light blonde dye on and got a strawberry blonde color. I love it! Oh am a black girl with natural hair just in case that helps anyone thinking of trying it but not sure if it suits their hair type

  • @LeeLovesEminem It works !

  • Hate to bug you with more questions, but,

I've dyed my hair multiple colors.

Right now it's a dark red.

    Before it was a brown.

I'm naturally an ashey dirty blonde.

If I use this, will i go back to brown, or will i go back to my blonde?

Of course I'll keep using it until i see blonde, but I'm just curious

    (:

Thanks for such a lovely upload. I enjoyed it.

    <3

  • what if i had black naturally haircolor and i dyed my hair

    dark brown

  • Hey just wanted to say thanks I just tried this after watching this and then I had a look on the Internet and found quite a few forums with before and after pics, I just tried it and it's definitely 1 shade later I'm gonna do it every couple of washes, also I followed with a hot oil treatment cause that is suppose to fade colour as well. Anyway take care x

  • anyone thats tryed this, does it work?!

  • i dyed my hair black but its rly faided now into a darkish brown it should work the same right?

  • I have black hair an I want to go blonde an my natural hair is brown should I do this instead of bleach?

  • I have this on now.... ill let you know how i get on :3

  • @dondons1987 truly amazing stuff, haven't seen my natural colour in a loooong time!

  • @dondons1987 did it work? :D

  • @LeeLovesEminem It diiidd! :D

  • I've been dying my hair red for a few months now, and my natural hair colour is a medium brown. I tried this once, and it turned my darkish red hair into a bright, shocking, orangey-red colour. If I keep doing it, will it remove all the red? Or will I end up with orange hair only?

  • I added lemon juice to it as well as the vitamin c and head and shoulders

  • It honestly works just did it and it took the red dye right out of my hair no problem

  • It's so nice to know there are more natural alternatives out there, for removing hair color. I just did a mini "bleach wash" on my hair. Thank God my hair is okay, but I like to avoid bleach as much as possible. Thank you so much for this alternative! Very helpful.

  • I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH OR THIS THA YOUU SOO MUCH AHHHHH!!!!!!

  • This helped SOOO much! I dyed my hair from an orangey red to my natural color, caramel brown. It was little orANGEY BROWN, BUT ON ASCALE FROM 1-10, IT WAS A 3. Excuse my caps lock i just dont want to go back and fix it,

  • I used a caramel shade on my blonde hair resulting in an "orangatan " orange outcome. I followed your instructions and it has lightened my hair considerably to a more acceptable shade. It is still very "bright" but not as embarrassing. I will wait a few days and try it again. m Thank you so much for presenting an alternative to harsh chemicals. It definitely worked . It will lighten the hair quite a few shades. However, just remember it will be a lighter brighter version of the original dye.

  • currently trying this;D

  • its the dandruff shampoo thats working

  • @gpworx Oh, that must be why it's worked with plenty of other types of shampoo for both me and many other people then?

  • @gpworx sorry, if it were the dandruff shampoo removing it, then my hair color would have been long gone by now...

  • IT DOES KINDA WORK i dyed my hair cosmic blue ?(worst decission of my life ) and tryed to dye it red ,this hardlet was noticable and evert night for the last week i did this and left it in for arround an hour and my hair is slowly becoming red :)

  • can you please make a video how you cute your hair and style it ? pretty please

  • I currently have all of my hair purple, and want to lighten it so I can dye it red or completely get it out. I absolutely hate using hair strippers though, and dread bleaching it again. DEFINITELY trying this soon (:

  • with the vitiman c pills wt type do u use cause i bought some cheap ones and tryed it and it didnt work. HELP!!!!! i really wanna do this.

  • i have been coloring my hair dark ash brown for around i year now. but my hair looks black. will this work on color build up like mine?

  • okay so i bleached my hair blond ten dyed it light brown will this method still take it out and turn it blond again?:(

  • It worked perfectly for me! Stripped the bright red and dark purple out of my hair :) its all bleach blonde now

  • if my hair dye dosent come out soon, I'm trying this!

  • Comment removed

  • Will this work for kool-aided hair? Because Put red koolaid in my natural jet black hair and it turned out purpleish and I want to go back to black because I'm getting extensions and I don't wanna dye my hair to make it match. :(

  • I am extremely amazed by this ! But I have a question.. if I were to dye my hair chocolate red, would this solution work if I wanted to remove it after a couple of months??

  • I just did this. My hair is naturally blonde with medium brown dye in it + highlights. Left the solution in my hair for about an hour. Unfortunately, I see no difference in colour. It didn't seem to do anything at all to my hair :(

  • Will this work on black permenant hair? x

  • i have the normal vitamin c tablets, but they are way to hard to crush.. And I have those who desolve and fizzes in water.. Who should I use? Please Answer! :)

  • @Thilde90 What I did was I put the tablets in a paper bowl, and I took a metal spoon and used the back to press down and crush the tablets. Makes it easier.

  • I had black hair originally and i dyed it light brown this summer but the hair roots grew and so i dyed my hair black ,but the colour turned out to be reddish-brown and i didn't really like it. So i want to try this but i'm not sure if this works on my hair

  • I have just dyed my hair a dark blonde colour but it turned out slightly GINGER and i am naturally a medium brown. It was my first time dying my hair atall and i used permanent dye:/ i REALLY want to go back to how my hair was:'( do you think this would work well on my hair..?

  • Yay! I'm trying this tonight!

Should it be done on clean hair? Or does it matter?

  • do the vitamin c tablets have to be white? i have like pink ones?

  • i had blue black, it took away the blue... :|

still, it's an improvement, warm haircolours look better on me :P

  • it's in my hair now :o

  • what also works really well is VINEGAR AND LEMON mixed together, then you put it in a bottle and spray it in your hair. sitting out in the sun for a while with it in your hair also works really well

  • i'm gonna try this on black hair... was blonde before, big mistake lol ><

  • This is absolute bullshit it does not work at all , all it does is make your hair darker and possibly fall out. My hair is worse than before, thanks

  • @megmatt2010 I've never heard of it making anyone's hair darker before, that's really odd.. however this method is not at all damaging, and can in no way make your hair actually fall out, there may be a third factor making it do this.

Try a deep conditioning or hair mask.

  • @abiicanfly

how many pills do you need if i need to do my whole head

reply asap i need to do it tonite for tommorrow

  • @megmatt2010 First of all I dont believe that because if Abby did it she wouldnt insist it on other people. Second of all, dont blame her, you were stupid enough so take ideas from a youtube video. No offence to this video. But dont blame the other person if you were dumb enough to try it. Love you Abby, sorry if I spelled your name wrong.

  • heeeyy :) love your hairr :) i dyed my hair purple and then black so if i use this what sort of colour do you reckon it will go?:) taaa <3

  • i. LOVE. yooooooooooooou! :D

    <3 <3 <3

  • THIS IS AMAZING!

I'M IN LOVE with this little recipe, it actually works, like WOW

  • It does work well on hair you dyed ages ago! well for me anyway. I had a wierd dark blue fringe with stripy bits of hair at the sides. then I tried this and it actualy works!! (even if you put too much lemonjuice in)

  • I dyed my hair with a black box dye, and in a few days I have an appointment to get my hair dyed brown with blonde highlights.. I'd like to try this beforehand so she doesn't have to bleach it first, but does it work with Flintstones vitamins with mainly vitamin C in it? Because that's all I have at the moment, and I can't get to a store since I live a few hours away from one. Will it still work?

  • I made this mixure but i made too much, will it keep for a few days?

  • Will this work for hair that went from natural dark brown/black to medium dark brown?

  • THANK YOU!!

  • please thumbs up my FAQ answers so more people can see them. and hopefully more questions will be answered :)

If there's anything I haven't covered, feel free to inbox me/leave a comment or ask via twitter: @ohthatabii :)

  • @abiicanfly im dooing this now im scaredd i will post vid response for you xx

  • @missjessie3311 don't be :') and thankyou, I haven't got any yet! :(( xx

  • LAST LITTLE BIT OF FAQ:

    - This method is a LOT less damaging than bleaching or dying your hair. Try it first before resulting in this.

    - If you previously lightened or bleached your hair, this method can not make your hair go darker again. When you bleach/lighten your hair you are removing colour pigments from the hair follicles, this can only be replaced by re-dying it a darker colour, sorry :(

    - If you bleached your hair and it left a yellowy/orangy colour, this will help to lift it!

  • MORE FAQ:

    - Try to use only vitamin C or multi-vitamins that include a very high percentage of Vitamin C (may have to use more tablets to gain desired effect)

    - You CAN use this method more than once, but remember to condition your hair afterwards as this method may also strip a thin layer of moisture from your hair, leaving it slightly dry.

    - this method is in NO WAY damaging, other than leaving your hair slightly dry, which won't happen if you condition.

  • TO ANYONE CURIOUS WHETHER THIS REALLY WORKS:

-The like:dislike ratio is currently at 201:11.

-This will work for ALL hair types

-This MAY not work if you dyed your hair over 2 months ago but even then has a strong possibility of stripping at least a few layers or lightening darker hair.

    - this DOES work on black hair, the colour in my fringe in the video was very very dark, I have also used this to lift very dark browny/purple from a full head of hair back to my original light auburn colour.

  • It doesn't work.. Leave it to the professionals!

  • @TheMandy1970 have you tried it?

  • does this work for black hair?

  • after you use this treatment can you dye your hair right after?

  • @TheDancerToBe leave it a few days and remember to deep condition it before dying it :)!

  • Comment removed

  • This is wonderful. Thank you so much.

  • Can you use E 400 instead?

  • @sarahhout not that I'm aware of, vitamin C works for sure, and occasionally multi-vitamins that contain mainly vitamin C will work :)

  • @abiicanfly thank youu! (:

  • Thanks, but does it have to be head and shoulders, can I use my "Aussie?"

  • @ellie4646 you can use Aussie :)

  • Fuck using chemicals. I just used two different hair color removers, tried to bleach my hair, then it just turned black again. I'll try this. I was going to, but didnt know if vitamin C tablets will work. Thanks!

  • @NOM145 it works! definitely try it... i was going to spend money on those removers but the sally hansen guy told me that it will make my hair brassy and i would have to re-color again... man... no way i was doing that... i tried this and it worked...

  • I died my hair dark brown but it went black, so I bleached it and tried dying it dark brown again now its kinda orange and I just want it back to my natural hair color.Does this work too? :'/

  • @suciabum7 it should work fine!

  • I tried this..

I had brown hair with a red tint in it and i want to take out the red so its just brown.

So i tried it not only did it make my hair smell like dirt for like 5 days but it made it MORE RED! It took out the brown and not red..

    Oh well. lol :)

  • @3missmay haha, I have no idea how that happened, unless you dyed it red first and then brown over the top because it strips out the newest coating on dye. and it didn't make mine smell at all, I think you need a nicer shampoo ;)

  • @abiicanfly But i used head and shoulders just like you did.

I think i used too many vitamins.

  • i likee your hair..

  • I have tried this twice and it doesn't work for me!!! I have bleached hair with pink in it and I just want it back blonde without dying it... :(

  • @EmOmAdDiEvAmPiRe well because you bleached it first, which in turn would have stripped the natural color off of the hair strands... you wont be able to go back to blonde. you will be able to remove the pink but youll eventually need to dye it blonde again.

  • @EmOmAdDiEvAmPiRe get a wash in wash out toner, they come in little packages and only cost around a pound, they just work like ordinary shampoo but should at least tone down the pinky colour!

  • @rosyrosyj24 : I have the same problem. I had naturally really dark brown hair and had caramel highlights put in. I loved it and left it for a couple months. Yesterday I dyed my entire hair black and I hate it! Would this method work for me to take me back to my original hair color?? Please help! I really hate how dark and undimensional my hair has turned out

  • HELPPPP!

First off, thank you so much! I'm going to try this! One question though: when the hair color is removed, does it take you back to your natural hair color? (I had really dark brown hair (naturally) with caramel highlights added in by my stylist. I dyed it all black yesterday and I hate it! If I use your method, would it just remove the black dye? Or will it turn my hair like an orange color?) PLEASE PLEASE ANSWER!

  • @agentHY it wont take out your lighter highlights, but it will life the black, probably be left with dark brown and lighter highlights again :)

  • can i use Vitamin C with Rose Hips??

  • @jjccllnn170285 avoid using vitamin c with any additives. use 100% vitamin c.

  • @jjccllnn170285 yes :) the rose hips shouldn't make too much of a difference if the only other ingredient is vitamin c, although it will work better if it's just 100% vitamin c :))

  • @abiicanfly thanks love!!!

  • yay yer my hero!!! :D i love you beeech!

now i can be beavis and butt head for Halloween :D

  • @gaduie yaayy :DD

  • @abiicanfly do you think i should mixx in some "leave in conditioner" or you think it will mess it up?
