  • badass riff

  • Prometheus is, an awesome name for a fish

  • Not a polyrhythm -__-

  • u mean polymetric

  • The second I saw ur strings i new exactly what it would sound like.

  • its like a meshuggah riff face fucked a cloudkicker riff. nice

  • No way it's polyrythm , it was all in 4/4 xD

  • @juussttee polyrythm has nothing to do with time signature

  • @nycbassist76 Polyrythms is when you have two or three time signatures at the same time , or when you have something binary and ternary at the time , go back studdy your musical theory man !!!

  • @juussttee it has to do with rhythm which could be as simple as playing triplets against an 8th note feel, a shuffle feel against 16ths...it has to do with more than one rhythm at one time...hence..Poly rhythm...not poly time signature...you can play poly rhythms in different time signatures.and yes you can play poly-rhythms in 4/4...you can go back to studying now

  • @nycbassist76 If you play sixtuplets on a binary bar it will be polyrythm just because you have binary and ternary at the same time, but if you do a simple 4/4 beats with 4 notes and an other part do exactly the same but doing 8 notes, yes you have two differents rythm but it's still not 'polyrythm', but if you do triplets against a 8th note feel or a shuffle against a 16ths like you said you have binary and ternary, and binary and ternary is not written in the same time signature.

  • @juussttee Lawl lrn2polyrhythm

    That's polymetric you speak of

  • @TheModCon as a music teacher for a while I can say I'm not speaking of ;)

  • @juussttee Obviously not.

  • You have an interesting way of picking sir!

  • i like the fish in the background

  • Sounds like Meshuggah except your guitar isn't tuned to drop Fart#, so I like it.

  • Sounds kinda cloudkickerish, But right me if I'm wrong, it's an Odd Metre not a Polyrythm, a polyrythm is when two rythms are played in a kind of advanced fashion ... Some riffs with Animals As Leaders are polyrythms, But that's tappign you know, playing " two things " at once.

    Meshuggah - Bleed has a polyrythm et.c. et.c.

  • Reminds me of Meshuggah.

  • Shit's rad as fuck, I watched like 5 times.

What tuning is this in? And how did you get that tone on a six string?

  • That is one large and bad ass fish.

  • Thank god someone else plays metal with a strat besides me.

  • Nice work man!

Simple is good.. I could really feel a awesome groove coming through..

(Which is something I think simple polyrhythms do well)

    Also. Your fish is bad-ass.

  • fuck! this is awesome! amazing riff and tone!

  • *Plays guitar*

    0:10 - Hang on a minute

*reaches forward and flips the awesome switch*

0:14 - May the awesome commence!

  • Good groove you got there!

  • you need a studio bro, that was awesome!

  • all i here is the dound of strings being scrapped

  • @TacoProduction5 fap fap fap

  • sweet riff man!! thats a seriously awesome one!!

  • Your guitar intonation is way off...

  • @krizzi666 It really is. Its not even hard to diagnose and fix.

  • Nice Dahlia shirt too!!! : D

  • hey dude !

    very nice tone man !!

  • send me the tabs please, epic riff and tone

  • Note the Polyrhythmic Fish

  • damn thats good

  • Awesomeness, I'm sure you'll come up with lots of "better" riffs before you are an old man farting dust.

  • thats a dirty riff man

  • Yeh this is cool!

  • Well done!

  • Weird concept.

  • I love you.

  • rofl this was pretty cheap,, but yeah it was alright i guess. im way better tho.

  • @Greasyxx so then upload your better riff punk

  • sick riff maaann

  • What meshuggah song is this?!?

  • Comment removed

  • 12th fret is Djents favorite fret

  • Love the riff and the time signature...and your fish's name and your tone.

  • how long have you been playing guitar?

  • sounds similiar to

Bring Me The Horizon "Death Breath"

  • @darkspaceable Don't mention that band. Just don't.

  • @JustCallMeJoel yeah. Meshuggah is the beast

  • @darkspaceable except this acctually involves talent

  • Hi Prometheus :D Nice riff you got there, nicely played too :)

  • quest for fire! yeah prometheus! steal that fire!

  • Nice job, nicer shirt though lol

  • i like of marduk so much more than any other of your musical shinanigans, i dont mean to offend but i just feel like your vocals take more away from your music than they do compliment it

  • very good song man!

  • After reading your description playing down the riff while it loading i wasnt expecting much, but that was pretty damn decent, liked it bro! well done :)

  • nice fish.......oh and cool riff

  • Excellent riff! I find it amusing that you named your fish Prometheus, that's what I named one of my guitars lol

    p.s. TBDM RULES!!

  • This isn't even a polyrhythm. What the dick man.

  • BDM!

  • your fish bring the brootals

  • is that a hellcaT?

  • awsome riff!!!! oh and PROMETHEUS IS WICKED!!!

  • pretty sweet dude!

  • can you teach me polyrhythms man ??

or atleast can u tell me a few resources from where i can learn polyrhythms and similar shit !!

cool and catchy riff btw !!!

  • @irockmyheadoff Thanks man, there isn't really much you can learn about polyrhythms.. they're just tow or more bits of music played in different time signatures. Check out my other video 'Demonstrating a 3/8 over Looping 5/8 Polyrhythm' for a bit more info, or just try Wikipediaing polyrhythms or polymetrics.

  • @ReturningWeHearLarks ok cool..thnx man

  • @ReturningWeHearLarks That's a polymeter, a poly rhythm is 2 seperate pulses going at the same time

  • @ReturningWeHearLarks that's a polymeter

  • @irockmyheadoff Look for "Re-Casting metal: Rythm and Meter in the music of Meshuggah" from Jonathan Pieslak, it´s a great "method" to learn all the techiques that those guys use.

  • @irockmyheadoff Eh...the guy's half right. When you're playing something like 3/8 over 5/8 that's a polymetre, having two meters being played at the same time. A polyrhythm is, for example, where you have a constant beat and then you divide each pulse into 3, then you ACCENT every 4th triplet. This is the most common polyrhythm which is a 3 to 4 (3:4) polyrhythm. Youtube it, wikipedia is usually full of jargon (not very helpful for new people).

  • @iHateBeingViet Thanks a lot! I'll def. look it up.

  • @irockmyheadoff /watch?v=yhHaQqT9fqc&feature=related

  • @irockmyheadoff You probably already play polyrhythms, peope just label a music style, did you know most of these 'djent' bands do like one polyrhythm and they all sound like the riff this guy uploaded, and in most cases they're not true polyrhythms! LOL! It's easy to missinterpret because a true polyrhythm can live inside a 4/4 sig and outside so it's tricky work, my advice is to play how YOU play, don't try and sound like anyone else, there's plenty of posers already, this guy's one;)

  • killer riff!!!

  • very nice work buddy!
