Thats what does it with Chantel - I saw lots of the great guitarists in the late sixties and seventies and she has that .. certain. something ........that sends sounds from the gods!!
I think it's daft to compare Chantel McGregor to any of the members of Blind Faith...just IMO. Not keen on this version, sounds like a cover of the Joe Bonamassa cover...?! But then again I'm not keen on that either.
A beautiful song by Stevie Winwood that you not only sing better than Joe does, but you kick his butt playing, too! What amp and pedals do you use to get your great tone?
Hi, thank you for enjoying my version of it! I love both Stevie's and Joe's versions of this song, I was comparing the two the other day and the differences were really interesting. For my amps I mostly use a Rivera R55, or R100 and for a more bluesy tone (used on the John Mayer cover video) I use a Bad Cat - Hot Cat. As for pedals, I just use a Jim Dunlop Wah Wah pedal, a Boss Chorus Ensemble (which I hardly ever use) and the distortion from the amp. Hope this helps!
Fantastic as always! Great song!

Yeah...I saw Blind Faith at Hyde Park London..in the 60s too.
Stevie Winwood was good
Ginger Baker was as he always is :)...
ie unique :)
Rick Grech added well to the rhythm section...
Clapton was Clapton...
But Chantel...has the LIFE...vibrancy....and downright class...that I saw in those 4 members of Blind Faith...when I first saw them mid sixties

Well. I actually saw Blind Faith back then (196x HIC Arena, Hawaii).
This performance (rather crappyy pub scene but...) tops that memory.
Stunned. Gosh this's good.

You caught and emphasised all the fine turns of the song, also added beautiful transitions of your own.
Such a pleasure to watch a true master after long long years. Thank you...

Nice one Chantel. See you're using a nice sparkle EB Silo.
Have you tried the EB Albert Lee or EB Axis?
The Albert Lee guitar is awesome.
Nice selection of amps you have - I can only dream of a Rivera or Bad Cat.
With your great playing you oughta post on the Ernie Ball Guitar forum.
