BUT I see very high potential for this technology. Laptops, mouse pads, maybe even transportation! Think about it, electricly charged roads that are safe to walk on that power your electric car! Awsome!

What if $100+ isn't much to you? What else is there to buy? People drop $100 on alcohol on a night out, or at the casino, or buy one car for $1000's more than another just to have extra horsepower they'll rarely use, or some other features that are hard to justify for the price.

This could add convenience for years, especially for multiple devices as a family might have. I'd like one on my coffee table. Throw my keys on the table, phone on the mat. Get a call, just pick it up.

Though, it looks like it might make the device bulky with that cover that is required. It looks like it might interfere with the iPhone's speakers that are on the bottom of the phone. And it looks like it may prevent you from using a normal charger. If these issues weren't there, it would be well worth it for a lot more people.
