@sonictime8 You must have chosen cyndaquil as a starter. For the record, that is a great choice for later in the game, but hard at first. I believe the best starter is Totodile, just because of the variety of moves it can learn, especially in the original silver/gold versions.

Technically speaking, however, choosing and using Cyndaquil in G/S/C results in having the easiest time throughout a great majority of the gym challenge. As a Fire type, its moves are strong against three of the leaders while four receive normal damage and only one is actually resistant.

@brenda0006 Oshawott looks like a mutant Frankenstein of a Pokemon. Tepig looks like... well about as good as Bulbasaur... Chikorita... Mudkip... and Turtwig. Since they're all basically creative remakes of each other. And I like them all somewhat. Snivy has plenty of character. He's got a natural confident stare with his nose in the air. I knew how one would act when I saw it in the anime, just by its appearance.

@brenda0006 Bulbasaur was amazing, but he's still in the quadrupedal-starter group. Otters aren't blue and white. Oshawott looks like it's wearing clown makeup. Like they were pressed for time and drew a few water themed random shapes. I happen to love Tepigs middle evolution, and Snivy's final form looks like a king. Oshawott's evolutions look kind of meh. Especially the last one. Aesthetically speaking, I'd never want a quadruped final form.
