  • These are pretty solid. Much better than the MMA guy doing 100 I just watched. If I was being picky I'd say keep your head up. But I can't do 80 so I'm better off just saying good job.

  • Thanks, The MMA came on here and took the mick out of mine a while ago, but he uses his toes against the wall, If you watch the video, especially towards the end, You can see his back arch as he pushes down against the wall, the wall makes them much easier to do.

  • Hi, no, I'm not a keep fit fanatic, I normally do my age each day, i'm 35 now, so once a day if I remember I will do 35 pressups, I've been doing it since I was in my teen's, One set a day will hardly make much difference to anything but like I mentioned, I do not do it to get bigger or stronger, just to keep the flab of.   • 80 press ups very impressive, chinups dips and press ups probably the three hardest things you can do in the gym, I know very few people who can do 80 and they all seemed fine enough, doesnt matter about anything else pressups is for triceps and his triceps were going horizontal and then straight like they should do.

  • theres nothing wrong with this at all. 80 press ups is pretty hard going. and ive seen people doing it twise as fast and its all wrong. good speed, good form. well done buddy, love your one handed press up vid too, puts a hell of a strain on your back though ye.

  • Hi, Thanks for your comment, The advice is easy and should hopefully work, STOP TELLING YOURSELF YOU CAN ONLY DO 20. As funny as this may sound, if I think to myself i'll get down and do 20 pressups, i'll get to 17 and then slow down a lot, but if I get down and tell myself i'm gonna do 35, i'll get to 32 and slow down, Most of the choices our bodies make are told to us by the mind, If you can overcome this you will be able to do more.

  • It would be good if u did press-ups all the way down to ur chest, and breath in on the way down, breath out on the way up after every single press-up, this is not a good example for the beginners!

  • ive been doing press ups for a few months now i do 80 in the morning then 40 in the afternoon and i do 80 of those ones where you have your hands on a chair or something and your back to the chair and lower and raise your body (sorry i forgot what they are called)and i do this every day but my arms dont seem to be getting much bigger they just seem more toned and im able to do loads more than when i first started is this because of my age (im 15)

  • it's not realy your age i don't reckon mate. just that doing laods of press-ups increases your muscular endurance and not strength. that means your arms usually will tone up more rather then get realy big.

  • unless you do some form of weight lifting whether it is through free weights or through doing stuff that appens in daily life (eg lifting boxes) then i can't how you can increase the size of your arms. you could try different types of body-weight excersises that should increase the size of different muscles to a certain point.

  • nice, only criticism would be that they are not military press ups (your elbows tucked into your sides and hands at shoulder width) which makes them easier so you should try a few of them, helps improve shoulder strenght a lot more

  • the world record holder is japanes ice prince is right. brendan ive looked at about 10 other clips of ppl doing pushups and u have the best form and the best camera angle to show that u r not cheating. as far as the pace goes i believe its fine. 2-3 seconds per rep sounds ridiculous. navy seal candidates have to do 100 push ups in 120 seconds to have a decent chance at making it throught the first phase of bud/s. i think im gonna try to do what they do rather than take your advise.

  • i can do like 40. i do that, then stop for a min, then do another 40, then stop for a min then just do as many as i can do! normally around 20-30 ..

  • LOL, Sore for a Week, I know that feeling, I went to a gym as a stand in for a friend, He concentrated on his upper body and I did reps with him, I felt fine while I was at the gym and thought that this was easy, nothing to it, then the next day I couldn't stretch my arm out, couldn't itch my back etc, It took 8 days before I could scrath and itch on my back.

  • In my opinion, 110 is very good, I do not search pressups so I have no idea about the records or anything, I would say 10,000 press ups is impossible, Are you talking about having breaks inbetween and counting them over a certain time period?. Thats more realistic, Like the world record for pull ups, he did 3 at a time then stopped then anothr 3, then stopped then another 3 etc etc but still broke the record as he did so many thousand in 24 hours.

  • Part two, The funny thing about pressups I find is that if I tell myself I am doing my usual 34, I get to 32 and struggle, BUT if I tell myself I am doing say 60, I'll get to 58 and then struggle, I think the mind controls more of your body than you think, unless i'm just made in a weird way lol. so this may be a great tip for people, Set a bigger figure in your head than you normally do and see if it works for you too.   • 80 is the most i've ever done but i was only about 10.5 stone, and it was my point of failure... you look like you could of squeezed some more in. I've put on another 3 stone now and i can only do between 30 and 40! lol.
