i love when people argue about cars when they know nothing about how they work or operate. variable valve time and lift electronic control(VTEC for noobs) is way better then any other variable timing out there. honda could make a car that is faster than anything out on the market but they want to hold true to their family oriented cars. the new turbo prelude should shut up a lot of people.
BMW's vvt has been out for near as long as VTEC, and unlike vtec it isn't just an on/off switch, Vtec is lowtech in comparison. No, VTEC is not the best. I hope they come out with a new turbo 'lude, maybe have some competition for my ms3!
I have an M50 VANOS in my E34 5series. i would not compare it to a ricer VTEC although it is amazing. The is no transmission slip, it just revs faster, higher.
the undisputable bottom line is speed3 are fast and easily made very fast honda's were never meant to be anything other than trendy & economical the ms3 wont be a trend its a trade off we all got what we want some of us are just in it for fashion

I'm looking for a more practical front driver, and the speed 3 is a much better car than the si (the si is still good, but it falls behind the speed 3). CEL don't come on from just a catback. They come on when you replace the downpipe with no cat. I have the CPE 3" Downpipe with the Hi Flow Cat and it doesn't trigger any check engine lights.

CEL don't come on from just a catback. They come on when you replace the downpipe with no cat. I have the CPE 3" Downpipe with the Hi Flow Cat and it doesn't trigger any check engine lights.
