I wish the test was more widespread. Loud exhaust is the reason motorcycles are banned from so many places. It's getting old guys! Having a loud bike doesn't really mean you have a big member!

You can't stop bikers from being loud. Shit, I'd rather stop riding and start driving my truck, adding to the traffic congestion than to ride a quiet bike.

Quiet bikes get hit way more often than loud ones. When you're on a motorcycle, you're as vulnerable as if you were on a bicycle. No exaggeration. If you ride, you know what I mean.

We don't have it here yet but I'm not worried 'coz my R1 specs' say 97dB(A)@6250rpm and I have the stock pipes. It's louder than many aftermarket exhausts.

They're going to pull us over and be tested at roadside, hence the equipment. The EU already has anti-tampering laws on draft, and stronger policing as noise complaints are N01 from residents. The the likes of the BMF have warned us over the years not to take the piss. Bikers are about 0.1% of the population.

Can that machine really tell the RPM just by sound? Wouldn't different types of exhaust throw the RPM counter off?

Either way, cool machine; hope I don't get the opportunity to see it in action.
