  • I'm learning this for Super Junior o.o

  • @BlackRoseDragon14 those are the same type its just ㅓ ㅏ ㅗ ㄹ ㄴ are some symbols by themself, 아 나 다 가 are one vowel and one constant ,and 극 훌 넛 츞 망 are a constanant a vowel and another consonant :)

  • Oh my!!! This is 경은's voice.... ^^

  • So how many type of korean language are there? there's this ------> ㅗ디ㅣㅐ . And there's this. ------>안녕하세요 . Whats the difference? i wanna learn the one that south korean's use.

  • this helps allot ty!!! i really love kdrama and i wanna learn it so i wont have to read subtitles!!fightin!!! ^.^

  • what's the difference between ga and ka, does it sound the same?

  • @nanycolmcr A. If it is not easy to find differences between g (of GA) and K of (KA) sound, don’t worry about it. Many listeners have had the same problem. Other languages such as English don’t have significant difference between those two consonants. If you know some Spanish words, consider double consonants as Spanish consonants. It has more stress than English. For example, single consonant ㄱ sounds like G of Green, and double consonants ㄲ sounds like C of Commo (in spanish).

  • @koreanclass101 For more, you can check the Second episode of Pronunciation series of Koreanclass101,com

  • @nanycolmcr All the Korean syllables are different. From what I learned in Yonsei University in Korea, when you put a hand in front of your mouth and say 가 (ga) you can feel a breath come out. If you say 까 (gga) you don't feel a breath come out and it is shortened. 카 is ka and any other korean syllable with double consonants works the same way (breath for singles and no breath for double consonants).

  • thank u

  • Im from Malaysia and i have ZERO thing i know about korean im passionate to learn korean . I hope this video helps :D Hwaiting !

  • would it be better if i learned to speak it before i learned to write it?

  • @iplaydeadxdhx reading is the easiest part about learning Korean. I am not joking. you can learn to speak it but reading helps you speak better.

  • hangul is my problem... i can speak it but i cant write it or read it :P

  • @GuamGirlKC

were opposite... i can write and read korean letters but don't know how to translate it to english

hey its ok...i'm hmong and i need to learn my own language to...not good with it...its just so sad..

    :( [tear drop]

  • wow i can read it (≧∇≦)b figthing

  • IM DOING THIS FOR KPOP!

  • I Know More Japanese Than Korean, So I Feel Its More Difficult To Understand, But The Video Went So Fast, But I am Practice alot! FIGHTING♥

  • @Queefbiffles Thank you for the comment! : ) I believe that you'll learn faster than others because you already have learnt Japanese. The structure and some vocabularies are almost the same : )

  • @koreanclass101 Really?! I find Korean way harder for me! Japanese came so easy to me. Korean pronunciation seems so similar to one another in some cases, which throws me off.

  • @Queefbiffles I'm in the same boat as you. I've been speaking Japanese for 5 years and I'm majoring in it, but I've really been wanting to learn Korean. Thanks to kanji I think it's easier to memorize what the characters look (and sound) like.

  • @Queefbiffles I agree with you. I also study Japanese and I find it easier. korean will be a challenge, but we can do it!!:)

  • So are the meaning of these characters 'vowels with consenants' ? I'm getting slightly confused.

  • @xxcarlyxx Yes. Korean characters need at least one vowel and one consonants to make a sound. So, 가(ga) has one consonant ㄱ(g), and one vowel ㅏ(a). : )

  • @koreanclass101 So different combinations of these vowels and consonants then make a meaning or word?

  • @xxcarlyxx Yes. Korean people make words only using those characters, the combinations of vowels and consonants. If you understand how to read those characters of this lesson, we will be able to read most Korean letters.

  • @koreanclass101 Thanks!

  • @xxcarlyxx these are just consonant paired up with vowel. 1 letter in Korea must have a minimum of one consonant paired with a vowel to create a syllable (1 letter = syllable. ex. MA, AH, SA, GA, GAM, SAM, PAM)

  • my brain is still spinning, this may take a while lol

  • I like learn Korean .

  • i have so much trouble hearing a significant difference betweenㅊandㅈ

  • @thesparkflyer Right. When people start learning Korean, it is not easy to know the differences between ㅈ and ㅊ, also ㅅ and ㅆ, because there is not that much difference in other languages. Actually ㅊ has strong tense than ㅈ, but you should have trained ears for this. Don't be hurry for catching the sense. The best way is to listen more. Also, you can get some classes of prononciation with details at our website. Feel free to come and listen the video lessons.

  • @thesparkflyer The website is koreanclass101,com

  • learning korean is FUNNN!! :D

  • I'm still so slow at reading! XD omg

  • What did she call me :O

  • so confusing T_T but i really wanna learn it !

fighting! yah i'll do wat ever it takes :>

  • somehow this video makes me feel like I'm back to kindergarten once again. haha. LOL. but this really helps a lot. :D

  • what's the difference of ja and cha? I'm sorry i don't understand it. it seems to me it's only cha but with a higher tone.

  • gracias muy bueno y muy divertido me encanto. :)

  • Haha!! I got it! Holy crap.

  • This is like a tongue twister. Omg

  • It took me 10 tries, but I got it.

  • I GOT IT

  • wow, feels like i am breaking my tongue repeating the syllables.... but really nice video, love the korean language.

  • lol its like a tongue twister!!!!!!

    그것은 혀 트위스터처럼

  • Is this from A to Z?

  • @Lover727J3nnifer no. Korean has a lot of consonants and vowels, and unlike english you always have to pair a consonant with a vowel for it to be complete word/syllable. they're just using 1 vowel paired with 14 basic consonants... you need to do that with around 20 vowels for each consonant to get a gist of Korean hangeul

  • @tokee1234567 just a minor corection, there are only 10 vowels in korean

P.s. hangeul is korean in well... korean so to say korean hangeul is like saying korean korean,

    <3

    wish you luck!

  • @CGTHOGBIABNTYSF well I count the more complex vowels as vowels too because they are technically vowels.

  • @Lover727J3nnifer No, the korean alphabed is different from ours. they have a set of 10 vowels and 14 consonants. this video shows the some combanations with the first vowel.

    simple vowels:ᅡ ᅣ ᅥ ᅧ ᅩ ᅭ ᅮ ᅲ ᅳ ᅵ

    Combined vowels:ᅢ ᅦ ᅤᅨ

    Simple consonants:ᄀ ᄂ ᄃ ᄉ ᄌ ᄎ ᄆ ᄇ ᄏᄅᄐᄋᄒ

    double consonants: ᄈ ᄍ ᄄ ᄁ ᄊ

there is usually a chart they use to learn and i will post it.

  • What's the difference between ja and cha?

  • @BalaDeHortelan just like how you wrote it. one sounds like Ja and one sounds like Cha

  • Ah, this helped me a lot! :D

And just after one day of practicing I can remember everything in this video! Luckily it wasn't so hard to remember. I just hope the rest will be like this too.

  • the a's look weird...... remind me of e's...

  • - LOL After one month of practice reading Korean lyrics I can finally say this as fast as her! But why does she sound so nervous?

  • @koreanclass101 i was on your website, and i saw your special deal that you offer in which shipping and handling would have to be paid. Is that a legitimate offer?

  • @meesterHiM Yes! Visit our site to find out more.

  • @koreanclass101 I wanted to ask, Is there a video where I can learn which alphabet in english is all these consonants and vowels?

  • hahhaah.. its so funny,, she's so fast.. i tried to redait but i can,t yet memorize hangul..

  • Imao! Korean is really interesst :)

  • wow es como un trabalenguas!!!!

  • man if i got get this theres no hope n lesson 3 for me lol but im'ma keep at it untill i do thank alot 4 the lessons!!!!

  • Helps to remember it if you sing it to Twinkle Twinkle ;)

  • Why is Korean easier than Madarin :'( I want to take Korean class insteaddddd

  • @dawolffreak

Chinese is extremely difficult -_- Japanese is easier than chinese lol and korean is much easier than both

  • @azzans the letters are easier to read.. that was what hangeul was invented for, to decrease illiteracy and help people learn how to read. but the Korean language itself is hard

  • getting faster was fun.

  • Korean why must you be sooo hard!!! my head is hurting learning Hangeul....

  • @pinoyako2829 apprectiate Hangeul while you can. Mandarin is harder... and I even heard that English is somewhat hard because of all the exceptions in our language as well as words sounding alike but with different meanings and vice versa. although Hangeul, English, Spanish, and some other countries have a set alphabet

  • LOL, it was like music class... o-o do re mi fa so la ti do! ~ xDD

  • rofl.... "a" in every letter xD

  • @sweYoda2 They used the same vowel for every consonant to make it easier to follow.

  • son las vocales o algo asi???

  • Thank you a lot :)

  • @amandawproductions Practice (I also find flashcards work quite well).

  • From what I saw every person, that makes a video about korean language, has his own type of pronunciation. That confuses me even more.

  • @isolvia

yea like people from different regions in korea pronunce things diffferently because of accents. makes everything sooo confusing.

  • LOL me too. D:

  • Comment removed

  • Kind of weird how she's pronouncing it, kinda scares me.

  • ur welcome =)))))

  • ㅋㅋ = haha

i just know sth like that

  • how do you get the actual hangul characters when u type? :(

  • i copy it from a korean website XD

  • and you can scroll down and read Restone's comment , there's a way to type korean:)

  • i tried but it just turned almost everything to hangul except for the letters i type. it would still come out to be english.. unless im doing something wrong.

but copy and pasting is a good idea too x)

  • hmm... did you click on the botton "A" (around the botton "KO") when you try to type hangul?

cuz when you didn't click on it , you'll type in english.

and actually you can change the language back to your original language, the hangul will still be there:)

  • omg!! i love this i still learning korean!

    i cant believe it!

  • what do these mean?

  • these are the consonants to the korean alphabet

  • @trixchialoveskimchi you need to look into your languages on your computer. Korean format also has different layout on keyboard. You can easily google it by asking "How do I type Korean characters with my keyboard?"

  • @trixchialoveskimchi down at the taskbar there is one button like this EN click on that

click show the language bar click options (the down arrow) click settings click on add look for korean(korea) clcik on + beside it click on keyboard then choose korean or Microsoft IME

even if already know whats in it, like this one :D

  • I think this is very helpful!! Thanks for posting!!

  • this is great but that website is like a scam. they want you to pay its not free. not saying its a bad site just saying they say its free then say free 7 day trail. like what say you have to pay in the beginging not later. but this vid is great. im learning already

  • They provide you with several free sources for lessons including the youtube lessons.

  • That's so cool

  • aah...

    I need help. T___T

I'm trying to type in Korean on my computer, but...

Is ㄱ the first consonant in this video? [g in ga]

And is the one at :33 [k in ka] ㅋ?

And it's weird. There are 26 letters in the English alphabet, right? So... there are 24 with the Korean consonants and vowels combined. So why does each of the letters on my keyboard have a Korean counterpart? [Didn't know how else to word it.]

Does that make sense at all? Can someone explain?

  • I'm learning korean too. I can totally type in Korean. But you're comment confused me, i wanna help! So wait.. what do you mean? lol XD and yeah they are correct, ㄱ is g and ㅋ is k :)

  • Nothing really, I was just babbling. xD

    Thanks! :p

  • I tried saying them, but she's too fast! LOL

  • @need2free try saying them that fast with all the vowels. fast and long might not mix!! haha
