@BlackRoseDragon14 those are the same type its just ㅓ ㅏ ㅗ ㄹ ㄴ are some symbols by themself, 아 나 다 가 are one vowel and one constant ,and 극 훌 넛 츞 망 are a constanant a vowel and another consonant :)
So how many type of korean language are there? there's this ------> ㅗ디ㅣㅐ . And there's this. ------>안녕하세요 . Whats the difference? i wanna learn the one that south korean's use.
@nanycolmcr A. If it is not easy to find differences between g (of GA) and K of (KA) sound, don’t worry about it. Many listeners have had the same problem. Other languages such as English don’t have significant difference between those two consonants. If you know some Spanish words, consider double consonants as Spanish consonants. It has more stress than English. For example, single consonant ㄱ sounds like G of Green, and double consonants ㄲ sounds like C of Commo (in spanish).
@nanycolmcr All the Korean syllables are different. From what I learned in Yonsei University in Korea, when you put a hand in front of your mouth and say 가 (ga) you can feel a breath come out. If you say 까 (gga) you don't feel a breath come out and it is shortened. 카 is ka and any other korean syllable with double consonants works the same way (breath for singles and no breath for double consonants).
@Queefbiffles Thank you for the comment! : ) I believe that you'll learn faster than others because you already have learnt Japanese. The structure and some vocabularies are almost the same : )
@koreanclass101 Really?! I find Korean way harder for me! Japanese came so easy to me. Korean pronunciation seems so similar to one another in some cases, which throws me off.
@Queefbiffles I'm in the same boat as you. I've been speaking Japanese for 5 years and I'm majoring in it, but I've really been wanting to learn Korean. Thanks to kanji I think it's easier to memorize what the characters look (and sound) like.
@xxcarlyxx Yes. Korean characters need at least one vowel and one consonants to make a sound. So, 가(ga) has one consonant ㄱ(g), and one vowel ㅏ(a). : )
@xxcarlyxx Yes. Korean people make words only using those characters, the combinations of vowels and consonants. If you understand how to read those characters of this lesson, we will be able to read most Korean letters.
@xxcarlyxx these are just consonant paired up with vowel. 1 letter in Korea must have a minimum of one consonant paired with a vowel to create a syllable (1 letter = syllable. ex. MA, AH, SA, GA, GAM, SAM, PAM)
@thesparkflyer Right. When people start learning Korean, it is not easy to know the differences between ㅈ and ㅊ, also ㅅ and ㅆ, because there is not that much difference in other languages. Actually ㅊ has strong tense than ㅈ, but you should have trained ears for this. Don't be hurry for catching the sense. The best way is to listen more. Also, you can get some classes of prononciation with details at our website. Feel free to come and listen the video lessons.
@Lover727J3nnifer no. Korean has a lot of consonants and vowels, and unlike english you always have to pair a consonant with a vowel for it to be complete word/syllable. they're just using 1 vowel paired with 14 basic consonants... you need to do that with around 20 vowels for each consonant to get a gist of Korean hangeul
@Lover727J3nnifer No, the korean alphabed is different from ours. they have a set of 10 vowels and 14 consonants. this video shows the some combanations with the first vowel.
simple vowels:ᅡ ᅣ ᅥ ᅧ ᅩ ᅭ ᅮ ᅲ ᅳ ᅵ
Combined vowels:ᅢ ᅦ ᅤᅨ
Simple consonants:ᄀ ᄂ ᄃ ᄉ ᄌ ᄎ ᄆ ᄇ ᄏᄅᄐᄋᄒ
double consonants: ᄈ ᄍ ᄄ ᄁ ᄊ
there is usually a chart they use to learn and i will post it.
And just after one day of practicing I can remember everything in this video! Luckily it wasn't so hard to remember. I just hope the rest will be like this too.
@koreanclass101 i was on your website, and i saw your special deal that you offer in which shipping and handling would have to be paid. Is that a legitimate offer?
@azzans the letters are easier to read.. that was what hangeul was invented for, to decrease illiteracy and help people learn how to read. but the Korean language itself is hard
@pinoyako2829 apprectiate Hangeul while you can. Mandarin is harder... and I even heard that English is somewhat hard because of all the exceptions in our language as well as words sounding alike but with different meanings and vice versa. although Hangeul, English, Spanish, and some other countries have a set alphabet
i tried but it just turned almost everything to hangul except for the letters i type. it would still come out to be english.. unless im doing something wrong.
