  • I was on the edge of seat at the end. Wow. Drew..Bledsoe. Wow.

  • The receivers really sucked in the beginning, theres no excuse for dropping balls that hit you in the hands

  • It looks like he needed better receivers at this time, they were dropping passes left and right in this game

  • One single-season passing record that DIDN'T fall this year or in the past decade: Drew Bledsoe's pass attempt record (691 - 1994). Bledsoe remains the most-eager-to-sling-it QB of all time.

  • 1996 comeback

  • reminds me a little of Dan Marino

  • That Vikings offense must've been atrocious, look at all the chances Bledsoe gets here.

  • Wow. Watching this really makes me appreciate what Bellichick has done with this team.

  • Man John Randle was an animal..he was so relentless. Even despite being double and triple teamed, he still found ways to get to the QB. Too bad he never got much help from his team mates on defense. I miss seeing that guy play.

  • My dad and uncle were at that game. My uncle's a Vikings fan. I do not feel sorry for him.

  • Amazing! He was so money. Vikings were blitzing the hell out of him, WRs were dropping balls left and right, and yet Drew kept going at a manic pace, knowing he was going to give it all. What a competitor!

  • does anyone else hear the announcer go "What the f*** was that?" at around 4:52

  • Bring back those Jerseys!

  • @Pats1273 i would love for them to play with those jerseys just to honor the 96 team (and the true beginning of the dynasty)

  • @Pats1273 Oh hell no, worst Pats jerseys ever!

  • @BlueHen123 Are you kidding? These jerseys are great. The 1995-9 ones are even better. I don't like the red throwbacks.

  • @STP43FAN1 Both jerseys are okay. I'm thinking of buying a red throwback jersey of Stanley Morgan, and the royal blue jersey of, Drew Bledsoe. Lol

  • @BlueHen123 No way - the red jerseys look bad. These are good, 1995-9 royal blue even better.

  • Ryan Mallett reminds me a lot of Drew Bledsoe

  • Do you happen to know how many yards he had that game?

  • @kibreezy100 426. I think it was the Patriots single game passing record until the 511 that Brady had in the game against Miami this season.

  • Wow, is it just me or does it look a lot more gritty and violent back in 94? Like, it looks slower but it also looks better, you know what I mean?

  • There has been very few QBs who can sling it like Bledsoe

  • If Bledsoe doesn't make it into the Hall of Fame every Patriots fan should boycott the NFL an it's Hall of Fame.

  • @corpsespanker, he's not a Hall of Famer, no way. His stats are not all that impressive if you take a closer look at them. He had a 57 percent completion rate and a career 77.1 quarterback rating. Can't let him in with those numbers.

  • @jbissainthe If he's no allowed in it the why the hell is Namath in? You know his numbers? 65.5 career rating 50.1 comp%....Bradshaw 70.9 career rating 51.9 career comp%...but yet the number prove that he should not be in the Hall of Fame...either your just a Patriots hater or really stupid. I'll go with that last one.

  • @corpsespanker, first of all, I don't know where you get off calling someone stupid. I didn't insult you so please don't insult me. Second, I'm a Patriots fan, born and raised in Cambridge, MA. Third, Namath and Bradshaw played in entirely different eras. Back then NFL teams were more geared to running the ball. If you compare Bledsoe with his peers (Aikman, Young, to name a couple) his numbers don't even compare to what these players did. You have to compare players within the same era.

  • @jbissainthe Yes you can because with those numbers he turned around the Patriots and made them playoff contenders. What you mean to a team means a lot for the Hall.

  • we are a passing team..i bet he iced the shit out of his arms his recievers werent even contiously catching the ball at this point it was all reaction..lol

  • Andrew Luck's passing reminds me of Bledsoe so much.

  • Awesome, thanks a lot for posting this.

  • drew got a raw deal that year brady took over. He would of won that super bowl.

  • @therealjohnnyjohnson

you're delusional if you think bledsoe would have made it to the super bowl and won it. still love bledsoe though

  • Hmm.....Pats could have beat Packers in 1996 superbowl.

  • He should've gotten atleast 55 if it wasnt for those crap recievers droppin the ball right on the numbers

  • Bledsoe has always been my favorite QB. Loved him at Washington State and I loved him in the NFL. Brady may have the rings but Bledsoe will always be my favorite.

  • man Bledsoe had crap receivers!?!?!?! I saw so many drops that were right on the money Bledsoe should have set the record for most completions in that game and he only got 45?!!!!

  • @timenyart This was before they drafted Terry Glenn and acquired Shawn Jefferson. His receivers were Michael Timpson, Vincent Brisby, and Ray Crittenden; he wound up throwing a lot to Coates, Turner, and Leroy Thompson. Troy Brown was on the team but limited to special teams (that was why Parcells scratched Brown for the Superbowl; he thought Hason Graham could handle special teams but it was Graham who got burned by Desmond Howard).

  • @STP43FAN1 Yeah I'm not a pats fan I've heard of Troy Brown and Terry Glenn and thats it.......

  • Wow, my shoulder is sore just watching this video!

  • greatest comeback of all time

  • I bet Bledsoe had to put his arm on ice for two days after this game

  • Brady is better, but I still have some love for Bledsoe. I grew up with the guy leading this begotten toilet of a team. He deserved that 2001 superbowl ring as much as brady.

  • the vikings where good back then

  • wow shitty line and recivers wow suck.........Bledsoe had a fuckin gun though jesus!!!!

  • @Mruhl316 the only recievers bledsoe ever had was terry glenn and ben coates.

  • @DrSanto91

    Troy Brown???

  • @descendency yeah troy brown was another reilable target, but that was about it. But still brady and bledsoe are my favorite quaterbacks.

  • that was E P I C ! !

  • Mechanics looked like crap?!....must be blind, they were pretty amazing if you ask me.

  • DREW BLEDSOE TO BEN COATES then it was on

  • Weird how lots of Boston fans still love Bledsoe over Brady. Drew was so bad...his mechanics looked like crap. Off balance, often overthrows his receivers, and doesnt know how to take a bit off the throw.

  • @plyzwthsqrlz Mechainics were fine. He had touch, he had accuracy. Bledsoe's weakness was he was so enamored of his arm strength he never wanted to learn "small ball" passing.

  • @plyzwthsqrlz wow dude your fuckin stupid you obvioulsey dont know what your talking about.....brady looks terrible compared to Bledsoe......brady cant even throw on the run at all hes a pussy and always has to plant his feet when he throws and there no question who has a better arm even my dad a brady lover even admits drews arm was way stronger im sorry but bradys mechanics are terrible to dude your fuckin dumb

  • @Mruhl316 Don't quit your day job...scrubbing toilets

  • haha wow his cannon cant be stoped jesus Bledsoe had one hell of an arm no wonder they cant catch it he needs chad johnson or somthing

  • ha wow they cant catch shit

  • Matt Bahr missed a FGA in the third that would have nullified the need for OT.

  • I was at this game! what a finish. This game moved Bledsoe up the ladder as one of the top gun slingers in the NFL. Is he top 20 all-time, no. Is he a class act and a tough sob, damn right he is. 2 more seasons and he's a sure hall of famer, he's on the fence even now. I say he gets in just for what he did for the Patriots organization alone, plus the numbers.

  • I remember this game vividly, watching it in my family's ski cabin in Nevada, eating roast beef, my father and I discussin the game afterwards. Good memories

  • 2:00 I can't help it - Bledsoe to Randy Moss.

    That's how werid school I am. ;)

  • Sure, he had 70 pass attempts, but it looks like he had a 25% completion rate

  • @connordan92 45 completions = a 64% completion rate.

  • Comment removed

  • @connordan92

Actually he had 45 completions which is also a record. Good one though!

  • @connordan92 His recievers should have had alot more than they did too

  • @connordan92 I remember that game, they had an awful first half. Incidentally in the 2nd half of that game they went mostly no huddle with Bledsoe calling his own plays in the huddle.

  • @FollyWantACracker. Wikipedia. I know it's not really that reliable a source but I'm hoping its true.

  • On January 24, 2011, the New England Patriots announced their intent to retire Bledsoe's #11 sometime during the upcoming 2011 season.

  • @MaliciousMayhem1987 Where did you hear that?

  • this was one of Drews best games, the Pats were losing at the half when they went into the locker room Parcells says what are we going to do?Zolack says let Drew call the plays Bill said ok,they came out in the 2 min drill and he went on to throw 70 and complete 45 which are both records that stand today.that game ignited the Pats to a 7 game winning streak..go to NFL.com videos and watch "the day that Drew was perfect"

  • @meuccilawless Not only that, this game and the team's subsequent successes showed up Bill Parcells as an overrated coach; when Bledsoe had more say in the offense they were successful; when Drew got hurt in 1995 and Parcells reigned in the offense toward the run they struggled more.

  • This was the game that really launched the Patriots. They've won 179 regular season games and 17 playoff games (three of them SBs) starting with this game.

  • @STP43FAN1 Yep, this was the defining game for the Patriots under Parcells. Bledsoe and Parcells didn't need to steal the signals of opposing teams to have success. The Patriots still haven't won a Super Bowl they didnt' cheat to win.

  • @studlynesss

1 - how do you steal something the other team is broadcasting into everyone's view?

2 - What Belichick did is allowed by the NFL constitution and by-laws - Roger Goodell didn't read his own rulebook and acted like he was being shown up - and he STILL acts like it in Peter King's piece.

  • @STP43FAN1 the pats haven't done shit in the playoffs since they were caught cheating. is that just coincidence?

  • @charger619c yeah the patriots only went 16-0 and made it to the superbowl dumbass

  • @tatertots00 I didn't know losing the superbowl was an accomplishment. What have they done since then?

  • @charger619c Ummm yeah they went 18-1 and last year went 14-3 dummy

  • @tatertots00 14-3 with how many playoff wins? How many playoff wins since choking in the superbowl? I can see a ton of you fags jumping off the Pats bandwagon in the next couple years. It's really hard to win playoff games when you don't know what the other team is going to do.

  • @charger619c The way they came back in a hopeless situation against the Jets shows they'll be winning in the postseason again, and soon. There's no bandwagon fans other than Jets fans.

  • @charger619c They've gone 35-13 with two quarterbacks and complete changeover in the roster. The playoff wins are inevitable again.

  • @charger619c They've posted four straight winning seasons (51 wins) with two quarterbacks and a complete roster changeover. That the playoffs have been a struggle is the compettive of the league, not a result of cheating tat never existed.

Sideline videotaping is allowed by the NFL constituion and bylaws - Roger Goodel did not read his own rulebook.

  • @STP43FAN1 Totally agree.. All of a sudden people were paying attention after this game.

  • I'm Not A Fan Of The Pats Or The Cowboys, But I sure Miss This Guy.

  • Brady is to much of a pussy to do the great stuff bledsoe did. Brady isnt great he has a great supporting cast

  • @piegirl89 your an idiot just shut up

  • @nonpoint112 Typical fairweather New England Fan

  • @piegirl89 drew bledsoe WAS a great qb but brady has won the pats more superbowls so BRADY>BLEDSOE YOU NOOB!

  • Brady is to much of a pussy to do the great stuff bledsoe did. Brady isnt great he has a great supporting cast

  • Just a curious question. Is that an NFL record for most passes in a NFL game by a quarterback? 70 passes is a lot for a quarterback.

  • @Chenglor91 70 is both the record for a single passer in a game and most by a team in a game.

  • @GreatComebacks1 Wow!!! I don't think that record will ever be broken again.

  • Wow, that was insane to watch!! Why even bother with the play-action passing in overtime, it's not like they tried to establish a run game at all! lol.

  • i cant stand the brady patriots but man this was some kind of performance, favorited

  • im so glad we got brady

  • @JewFroWarehouse I'm so glad the Patriots had Bledsoe in this era. Doesn't get the credit he deseves for turning the franchise around. He was great.

  • Wow... That's definitely not Brady's O-line.

  • @ndwwrestler2 Actually they had a pretty solid line back then. Considering how much they passed, Bledsoe did not get slapped around very much, which is saying alot considering he was one of the few quarterbacks who did not like being rushed.

  • @GreatComebacks1 Bledsoe didn't like being rushed? Really? See how many yards he picked up off small dumps and out routes, that's the story of his career up until '96. He KILLED the rush.

  • @GreatComebacks1 Bledsoe didn't like getting rushed but he also took quite a few hits - he played hurt more than most people remember. He was more responsible than Parcells for turning the team into a genuine force.

  • @GreatComebacks1 That's because Bledsoe had all of the mobility of Mount Rushmore.

  • c'mon brisby, hold on to that

  • know your history.. this game started the 10-6 run.. and thier first playoff (to Hoodie and the Browns) in YEARS!

  • Holy crap, there's like 15 drops. Should have been easy catches too.

  • @neilsmith47

Thats the story of Bledsoes career. He'd have such better stats if only he had receivers who could catch.

  • Wow, this is a very unique video and I do remember this game! Thanks a lot for posting this!!

  • This game was awesome! Been looking for a video for it and here it is! Finally! I miss watching this guy play.

  • I remember this WELL. This was the culmination in a series of over-the-top performances by Bledsoe. One week he threw 40, then he threw 50, then 60, and then THIS...the last one which went to Kevin Turner. I remember thinking that his arm was going to be dead by the time he was 30.
