  • There's nothing like the old Disney movies. These movies were the best part of my childhood. This generation will never know the true epicness of Disney movies.

  • My favorite part of the movie comes right after this, when her father tries to run after her but his leg can't keep him up... OH GOD. JASLDKFJ.

  • epic music surge

  • SONG NAME, BITCHES!!!

  • The best scene in this film :) i love the music! so amazing! :))

  • Luv it :) but u spelled sequence wrong ;)

  • the song is short hair i believe just search mulan ost short hair

  • i luv this scene

  • i just watched Mulan and searched for this part coz i love the music ..thankx

  • well, time to go watch the entire movie!

  • OMG

this is by far my favorite disney movie

    the music is SOOOO powerful

disney doesnt understand how to make movies for the older viewers anymore

    btw dont watch mulan2

    it sucks ass

MULAN IS THE BEST DISNEY HEROINE EVER

  • @NyanDeerXD mulan 2 does not suck! it's not as good as the original, (but sequal is?) but it's still good.

  • omg, i loved this song but i cant ever think of it without thinking of my mother who passed away in 05. this was her favorite song from Mulan. Thanks for posting this so much!

  • Theres just something about that music combined with that scene...words cannot describe...Most Awesomely Epicly Legendary is close, but not close enough

Mulan, you are truly amazing!! :)

If only disney made more movies with girls like you, you are an inspiration!! :)

  • EPIC.

  • She cut her hair pretty evenly with a sword

  • @EEH197289 what do you expect, it's Disney!

  • @Natsumi2729 Oh of course, what was I thinking!

  • This song gives me the chills....love it!!

  • uuuugh it just reeks of oldschool disney! I LUV IT!

  • 1:17

When I first saw that part in the trailer, I thought Mulan was going to be some kind of anti-government rebel or terrorist.

  • fav part in the WHOOOOOOOLE movie<3 and i'm telling you this is my fav cartoon movie right after the road to el dorado

  • This part is actually considerably less badass than what the REAL Hua Mulan did: She challenged her father to a sword duel to prove that she was a better soldier than him, kicked his ass, and went to join the army with his full blessing.

  • @2wingo Really? I think this is better, she knows nothing of fighting or war yet to protect her father she would rush head first into it. To me thats true bravery.

  • @xtwilightsinx Not from the Chinese point of view. To the Chinese, loyalty to one's parents takes precedence over almost all other virtues, and sneaking off into the night in direct defiance of her father's wishes would be seen as the highest form of disobedience.

  • @2wingo how isn't that loyal? honor and respect are nice things but love for your family should always be whats important. with his leg and his age he would die in battle. in the end its about doing whats right and whats "right"

  • @xtwilightsinx I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just saying that this is how it would be viewed from a Chinese point of view. It would be viewed as disloyalty because it was a direct violation of his wish to serve the Emperor and have Mulan learn her place. Disobediance was, and still is albeit to a lesser degree, a serious sin to the Confusian ideals of the Chinese.

  • @2wingo true. I wasn't disagreeing either. I guess it's a little strange to look at it that way.

  • @xtwilightsinx It makes a lot more sense if you're familiar withe Analects of the philosopher Confucius.

  • This is touching!

  • why did that statues eyes turn that blue color? was their honor wrecked er something?

  • Judging from her lips I think Mulan just whispered "it's me" in Chinese to the horse! It's the first time I've noticed this!! GO Disney with the details :D (credential: I'm a native Chinese speaker lol)

  • I love this song, i wish i have a title on it.. :/

  • @Simonaha96 It's called Short Hair. :)

  • I hate it on videos when you can't make them as loud as you want them to be

  • @ticklemeliaa I know! Damn volume limit.

  • epicness personified. I'm 14 and this was the first disney movie I ever saw. EEEEEEEEEEPPPPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

  • this part always gives me chills...

  • I cannont believe that this piece is not on the soundtrack. This is the best score throughout the movie.

  • @scottof83 This is on the soundtrack, it's called Short Hair. Look it up, a person called Yahoosoundtracks has it on their channel :)

  • this is the epic scene with the epic music

  • Oh, I love this scene :)

  • I simply love this scene!!!

  • When I heard this part of the movie I began looking for it everywhere to play it in my music collection. I'm glad to see someone else appreciates awesome instrumentals.

    Thanks for the upload.

  • this is my favorite part of the movie. the music, the graphics, ugh EVERYTHING about it is flawless. I miss classic treasures like these. they're so much better than the movies today.

  • Why did disney have to become so suckish? They used to be able to move us with these types of movies and make us actually feel what the characters were thinking and really love them, lately it just seems like they're more interested in making money than anything else

  • Hopefully the Princess and the Frog will change this >_>

  • i watched the movie and i believe it took a turn for the better. i believe it went back to the quality that these kinds of disney movies had.

  • @youko100 Don't Worry it did.

  • omg......i always LOVED this part...

you know its good when kids still in single digits love it...

disney really needs to come back to this type of epicness....

I would pay sooooo much to have the old disney back..

and whoever made the music for this scene is a genius

  • @sparklop I totally agree with you :)

And the man who wrote the music is called Jerry Goldsmith, and the track is called Short Hair :)

  • @sparklop I am very excited about this Disney's project (The Snow Queen is scheduled to be released in 2013). Because it has some people that worked in other great Disney animations:

Written by Linda Woolverton (Beauty and the Beast, Lion King)

Produced by Don Hahn (Beauty and the Beast, Lion King)

Score by Alan Menken (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin)

Btw, The Snow Queen is a fairytale created by the danish Hans Christian Andersen, also the creator of The Little Mermaid!

  • @oopaulorafael Will it be animated?!

  • @oopaulorafael it is shelved again, to bad, if my info was right they planning it to be hand-drawn.

would've loved that, after the princess and the frog we need another real disney film again

  • @Achyuta1988 Sadly, you are right... I hope that it will be back in development asap. This happens several times in Disney, they shelve a project and some decades later they work on it again (for example Mermaid, B. a. t. Beast) or a few years later (according to Wikipedia King of the Elves was shelved in Dec 2009 and was back in development in July 2010).

  • @sparklop Jerry Glodsmith was the composer. He also did Gremlins! :D

  • @sparklop unfortunatly they cant cuz they got people making stuff like hanna montanna and high school musical! if i ever work their, ill change it for you, dont worry

  • when I was little it was my favorite part

  • same :)

  • this is such a great moment!

  • The Climax is when she cuts her hair.

  • that's because that said "Once you cut that hair, there's no turning back."

  • I know

  • EPIC

  • Awesome music.

  • this this my favorite scene on the movie, just intense and moving

  • I love this movie, and this piece of music is amazing.

  • Nice:) Mulan is definitely one of the best Disney movies made ever^^

  • The more "politically-correct" term is Asian, not Oriental.

  • @rikufanboy I hate being called Asian, everyone thinks that I'm from the idian sub continent. Prefer to be called oriental any day! Compromise it South East Asian.

  • @rikufanboy

    fuck politically correctness

if someone get offended then oh well thats life...

people get offended all the time they need to just not care about it.

  • mulan's one of the few oriental disney movies i've seen, the design is nice to see
