  • 02:28 xDDDD they leave the room like water :D

  • Zack and Cody lifted this scene, didnt they?

  • Whoever posted this should be shot. You left off the funniest part. This all started with ordering 2 hard boiled eggs, HONK, make that 3 hard boiled eggs.

  • a classic scene and great movie, the scene in the hotel where they are running around the two roooms changing beds is a classic too.

  • funniest movie scene ever. love the marx brothers.

  • "If she isn't in here, you can propably find someone just as good."

  • Wrong aspect ratio

  • buster keaton wrote this scene for them.

  • So stupid, but it gets me doubled over every time.

  • 9 people didn't get their hard-boiled eggs.

  • That crowded cabin scene is just PURE GENIUS!!

  • I think there's a Suite Life of Zach and Cody episode like this. I LOVE this scene! I love Groucho! He makes NO sense! He's hilarious!

  • @jesushasareason which episode was it? p.s. harpo is my favorite!!

  • whenever I walk into a crowded room I ask if my Aunt Middie is in there... no-one gets it...

  • and 2 hard boiled eggs

  • Every time someone walks in a room looking a little confused I say "C'mon in, and leave all hope behind." And nobody gets it. That's a very sad commentary on today's generation.

  • This is one of the best scenes in movie history!

  • How can people dislike this?

  • fantastic

  • They should show Marx brothers movies in theaters with Three Stooges shorts playing before the Marx brothers.

  • This is brilliant!

  • This is the first and last time I will ever see a non-Asian working on nails.

  • LOL. Harpo jumps onto the platters of food to sleep. I wish I had that kind of talent!

  • Do you want a manicure? No, come on in! HYSTERICAL!

  • The Marx Brothers are awesome! And I love this scene.

  • I wouldnt want to join any club that had me as a member !!

  • This is my favorite scene ever =]

  • I make skits that are chock-full of puns and one-liners, please take a look and let me know what you think! I'm a huge fan of The Marx Brothers and want to reach out to an audience who likes that sense of humor

  • genius , so many years ahead of there time. I loved them, thanks for posting Elec Glue

  • The greatest comedy team performing the most unique scene in movie history.

  • "You want a manicure?"

    "No, come on in"

  • I saw this film 245 645 times....and it gets funnier everytime...;-)

Can't wait to see it again

  • Just discovered your channel. Thank you so much for bringing these forgotten comedy gems to the internet!!!

  • ...I came to mop up.

... just the woman I'm looking for ..come right ahead ...

    Genius

  • So many great lines in this scene.

  • "I want two pillows on this bed." xD I think I know what Groucho meant by that. Can't believe that got past the censors. Groucho's always spouting out a double-entendre.

  • Are those my hard boiled eggs? Haha!!!

  • Star Trek: DS9 did an homage to this. The only reason it wasn't as funny was because the room was too big.

  • @DataTasha4Ever which episode?

  • @speedformercy Uh, It's right in the beginning of Season 2. I think It's called "The Circle".

  • @speedformercy Yep, it's "The Circle." I'm trying to post a link but YouTube won't let me. Just search "DS9 2.02 The Circle [Kira and her friends]"

  • Did you want a manicure?

    No, c'mon in!

    Classic!

  • Ever notice not one of the Marx brothers has ever been remade? It is because no one thinks they could live tup to it?

I think some of these scripts would work really good in a modern setting if the rigth people were involved.

  • God, I feel like an idiot. Can someone please explain to me what's so funny about this scene? I just don't get it. It's just a bunch of people crowding into a room with the guy commenting about how the room is crowded.

  • @Lethkhar2000 It's a classic case of laughing at others' expense. Any Marx Brothers movie, Abbott and Costello movie, Laurel and Hardy movie, etc. are loaded with that. Lou Costello always getting into one scrape or another, Harding coming up with a plan, and Laurel screwing it up and getting Hardy into trouble, that type of thing.

  • @Lethkhar2000 To paraphrase Louis Armstrong, "if you have to ask what jazz is.... you'll never know."

(With all due respect, of course...)

  • @Lethkhar2000 If you don,t get it move on,then it,s not for you, one clue, pay attention to the dialogue ALSO !!!

  • this scene was stolen by suite life of zack and cody ;A;

  • @MsLawliet83 r u an idiot??

  • @il8awe what? it's true.

  • @MsLawliet83 You're kidding right?

  • @LawlietandLight ....no...it was that episode where cody gets sick of zack being messy and moves into the closet

  • "Say theres a slight misunderstanding here I said the girls had to work fast not your friend." Hahahaha I love this scene its hilarious.

  • .......and a hard-boiled egg!

  • Its just like travelling on a bus in the Philippines

  • God! i finally found it! Damn! it took me so long to get to know which film it was the one i accidentally saw on tv a couple of years ago! Damn i found it AT LAST! I LOVE THIS FILM SO MUCH!I DIED LAUGHING WHEN I WATCHED IT!<333333333

  • Jadore

  • Hilarious. Groucho's lines and timing are just priceless. LOL.

  • This has been copied so many times since, it's timeless.

  • do you want an manicure?

    No. Come in!

    ...

  • THIS IS SOOOOOOO FUCKIN FUNNY ! AND IT'S FROM THE 1930's ! JUST GREAT!

  • really nice!!! :D Marx bros were great!

  • 2:31 hahaha

  • Now he's half asleep, yeeeees, he's half asleep, and half-nelson! BRILLIANT! <3

  • I absolutely love The Marx Brothers and their movies! They are so hilarious and talented!! I love this scene, it's soooo funny!! xD

They don't make comedy movies like this anymore. :(

  • @jpluvsjobros Couldnt agree more. Im a devoted lifelong fan of comedy and I dont think ANY comedy movie through out the years, matches the wit that a Marx Brothers movie possesses(although, Life of Brian and Airplane! come close)

  • @MrProud1983 I 100% agree with you on that! I feel the sameway! They are comedy geniuses and always will be!! :D

  • Someone tried to tell me Family Guy is funny. I linked him to this and to the hat scene from Duck Soup and said "if Family Guy is funny, we're about 500 years ahead of schedule for Idiocracy."

  • @SimuLord if you want to question the quality of entertainment (or the existence of G~D) Family Guy is nothing compared to Jersey Shore

  • It's hard to believe when I was at my grandpa's house watching this... that Groucho's mustache is not real after all.

  • My favorite!!

  • "Are those my hard boiled eggs?" "I won't know till they get in the room." HAAAAA!!! :)

  • I didn't know groucho did a cameo in the Wizard of Oz

  • Ha... Harpo just climbs up and falls asleep on the food

  • hahahaha!

    Did you want a manicure?

    No, Come on in!

    :P

When are people going to learn that making jokes about stupid things aren't funny! When I say stupid i mean things that do make sense but are trying to be made funny, with these guys nothing makes sense but its still funny.

  • Notice how most of the women were pretty hot? I betcha they had a LOT of fun shooting that scene (and later even) nudge, nudge!

  • If you combined an entire season of today's sitcoms they couldn't match the brilliance, choreography and physical comedy of this classic Marx Bros. scene!

  • What would make this cozy scene even more awesome is if they were shooting it on an actual cruise liner that was in motion. If you've read chapter 24 in Groucho and Me, you'll know what I'm talking about.

  • This scene is like a comedic orgy.

  • 5 people are clearly "Dumb and Dumber" fans.

  • @lordxur

i think you can find a better example of bad comedy than dumb and dumber. the first film was actually pretty hilarious...and this is coming from a marx brothers fan.

  • @zeppelinswimmer I could, but I think "Dumb and Dumber" encapsulates the current state of bad comedy in its very title, so I am quite happy with my selection, thank you very much. :)

  • Disney's Program Suite life of Zack and copy re-acted this. Pretty funny, both are awsume. :D take a look at that version The Suite Life of Zack & Cody - Odd Couples - Part 3

  • "Yeah he's half asleep and half Nelson"

    Brilliant.

  • One of the best comedy ever made

  • at first i thought the guy in the suit was zeppo

  • classic as hell...ughh. The spirit of the Marx Brothers was anarchic not tame.

  • gods of comedy, fawlty towers etc owes so much to these guys!this is brill!!groucho' s comic timing has never been repeated.

  • The bit where Margaret Dumont opens the door and everyone falls out - I've seen it hundreds of times and I know exactly what's coming, but it never fails to crease me up

  • best ever!

  • And a hard boiled Egg. HONK!!!

  • We could have sent this zany clip down south to give the confined Chilean miners a few timely laughs! Laughter is still good medicine.

  • This is gonna be the "new" Orion cabin spacecraft.

  • Great stuff!

  • classic as heck

  • Zac&Cody did a cover of this, only just realised

  • I just saw this Friday. Absolutely hilarious movie!! Funniest scene in any movie.

"Or make that twelve more hard boiled eggs." Hehe :)

  • wicked

  • still the funniest scene ever

  • this kinda reminds me of the scene in Buster Keaton's "The Cameraman", when Keaton was sharing a small dressing room with another guy.

  • Comment removed

  • They were funny!

  • Love it !

  • And 3 hard boiled eggs

  • One of the funniest scenes ever.

  • "He´s half asleep and ½ nielson!"

  • it`s sooo funny! :-D

  • do you want your nails long or short?

  • best line for me is the manicurist... "do you want your nails long or short?" pmsl

  • #LOL

  • Anyone notice a young Judy Garland looking for her Aunt Minnie.

    Marx Brothers are the best

  • @The25Rocky That wasn't Judy Garland, I'm afraid.

  • @SirCrooner, Sorry to say you're wrong my friend. It was mentioned in her autobiography. One of Judy Garlands first rolls "looking for her Aunt Minnie".

  • @SirCrooner, Sorry to say you're wrong my friend. It was mentioned in her autobiography. One of Judy Garlands first rolls "looking for her Aunt Minnie".

  • @The25Rocky I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree with you. I'm not quite sure that you read the correct autobiography, as this in no way is Judy Garland. For a few reasons:

    1. This girl is too tall. She is almost the same height as Groucho, while Judy was the same height as, say...Mickey Rooney.

    2. Judy Garland was 13 at the time of this filming, and this girl is at least eighteen.

    3. Judy was a lot more fat than this girl.

    4. Judy had a far lower voice.

  • @The25Rocky And finally, Judy's gums weren't as large, as you can see when this girl smiles. She does look something like Garland, and I can see where you can get confused. I hope this helps you.

  • @SirCrooner Groucho's cameo in The Wizard of Oz was wonderful!

  • @HunterMann He looked absolutely ravishing when Dorothy came to Oz and he gave her the ruby slippers.

  • @SirCrooner There's no place like home!

  • The manicurist is hot.

  • @CrAzzyWak

C is for CrAzzyWak who died of ennui.

  • "Hey listen I'm getting the manicure, get out of here, will you?"

  • Best thing about this to my mind, is how Harpo stays asleep the whole time lol

  • Most hilarious comedians ever.

  • funniest movie scene ever

  • Best comedy scene ever!!! I always laugh like crazy! The Marx Brothers are also the best comedians ever to exist in my opinion!!! :D

  • @Brollyhero99TOP10 I 100% agree with you!!!! :D

  • Harpo is awesomely hilarious in this scene!

  • whenever i feel that everything is coming to an end, and hateful to everyone, i turn on a marx bros flick and it resets my mind to realize that everything is a joke, and should be treated as such.................

favorite line ever: " what ever it is, i'm against it!".....

  • i just watched this yesterday. first time seeing a Marx film these guys are genius.(were genius)

  • Winston Churchill was a huge Marx Brothers fan. On a day early in the war, as he was heading out to see the latest Marx Brothers film, he was informed by an assistant that the German second in command, Rudolph Hess, had parachuted into Britain, and was in their possession. Upon hearing this surprising news, he replied, "well, Hess or no Hess, I'm going out to see the Marx Brothers!"

  • I think all of the Marx brother's are rolling around in their graves knowing that kind of bullcrap thats on television now-a-days. These guys put any top tv show of today in shame.

  • @marter2006 Yes, even Seinfeld who so many claim is a genius... he was paid more per-episode than this entire Marx Bros. movie cost to make.

  • @marter2006 LOVE what you said!!!!! I totally agree!!!!!!!!!!

  • @marter2006 Modern Family is decent

  • Could you please post the scene where they confuse the policeman?

  • This has to be their best scene!

  • xD

    great!

  • I love the end!

  • I sing about the MB in The Celebrity Song.

  • LMAO i just saw this movie on TV last night (for the millionth time!) and it's so funny! I love the exchanging beds scene too!

  • This is the kind of COMEDY that is missing in todays movies and television :) I love this :)

  • " yes he's half asleep and half nelson " lol

  • that is awsome

  • Sigh...why can't all t.v shows and movies now be like this.

  • When I think of the Marx Brothers, I think of this scene!

  • Three Stooges were great but they were basically a one joke gag...hitting each other. Most modern comedies wouldn't be around today if it weren't for the Marx Brothers.

  • @whammer0411 Yes, and also Yiddish theater gave us some of the best comedians.

  • oh didnt the suite life of zack and cody do this scene ?

  • LOL. What a riot.

  • Did you wanna manicure? No. Come on in.

  • perfect!

  • is it my imagination or is it getting crowded in here.

    LOL great stuff.

  • Moe vs Chico

    Larry vs Harpo

    Curly vs Groucho

    IT'S ON!!!!

  • the three stooges kind of funny is slapping each other. the marx brothers are so much better.

  • @BloomLewis That's not true exactly. They do physical comedy. Bopping on the head, eye poking, sound effects. With the Marx Brothers, you have to be older to understand their humor. The Three Stooges are for everybody.

  • haha close to slapping, but i'm just 13 and i still get the marx brothers humor.

  • @BloomLewis I'm 19 and I'm just saying. I have nothing against the Marx Brothers, in fact I think they're hilarious. But, they are nothing compared to Moe, Larry, and Curly. Teens don't even know who the Marx Brothers are. But, they know who the Three Stooges are. And, Three Stooges didn't do movies like the Marx Brothers and they were still more popular.

  • they may be famous, but they're not as funny as the marx brothers.

  • @BloomLewis It's just my opinion.

  • ok then

  • @Gwitfu90 When you get older, and explore, you will realize the Marx Brothers are the best slapstick comedy team/family in movie history. The Three Stooges are just about visual gags, while the Marx Brothers. combine slapstick with comedic wit. This led to the birth of British comedy which led to the Goonies (Peter Sellers) of the 50's, and Monty Python. The British were smart enough to use the Marx Brothers style of comedy, and make it their own.

  • @strangeones4 Wasn't most of it just Harpo and Chico playing instruments?

  • @Gwitfu90 If you tend to ignore the guy in big pants with the cigar, and (painted) moustache that later hosted a game show called "You Bet Your LIfe" that never stops talking, sure.

  • @strangeones4 That's the thing. It was all about Groucho. It rarely featured Harpo and Chico. The Three Stooges had all three. Yes, it was a physical stuff, but they do it differently every time.

  • @Gwitfu90 Groucho Marx, and Moe Howard are the same character. The difference is one uses physical slapstick to make people laugh, while the other uses words. When I discovered british comedy such as Fawlty Towers, and Monty Python when I was in high school, I didn't have a need for the Three Stooges shorts I saw when I was around 10-12.

  • @Gwitfu90 There was nothing different with the Three Stooges. Moe was the leader and bully, Curly/Shemp/Joe/(the other guy), and Larry were the but of Moe's jokes, with slaps and pokes to the face. Just watch the auction scene from "The Cocoanuts" (1929). Groucho is trying to auction land from newly developed Coconut Grove (Miami). He is being undermined by Chico who is supposed to help him. It's pure comedic genius.

  • @Gwitfu90 The scene is listed on Youtube as "The Cocoanuts Part 9".

  • @strangeones4 I'm going to stop arguing, but I still believe the Stooges are better.

  • @Gwitfu90 Actually, I can sort of now see why the Marx Brothers are better, but you need to put the 3 Stooges up there.

  • @strangeones4 I am sorry, but I must point out that The Goon Show was the radio serial featuring Spike Milligan, Harry Secombe and Peter Sellers and. The Goonies is the film that originated the truffle shuffle!

  • You are correct. You also must point out that the Marx Brothers are two steps ahead of wit,and slapstick compared to local groceries, and local farms. I don't trust him.
