  • reminds me of a lot of old Scottish songs to do with weaving etc - they need the rythm to work to

    good stuff

  • ERILAISTA! Todella hienoo.

  • they're singing about washing clothes simply cause this kind of songs were sang by the women in Karelia while they were doing their household tasks. So the lyrics were often very quotidien, dealing their everyday routines. Of course there are exceptions, songs telling a certain story, discribing the nature etc.

  • So do women now sing songs about watching crap on the telly, trying to find the big christmas toy for their kids, and having a crisis when IKEA runs out of Billy bookcases.

    Food for thought.

  • if u digg värttinä maybe u should check out a band called : Ancient bear cult

  • do they still have 4 singers, or did one of them leave?? because on most pictures there's only 3 of them.

    and the song is great!!!!

  • In nonsense is sometimes the power :)

  • Well, mostly they are singing about washing clothes on the dock. "Oitara aitara" is a pure nonsense

  • I always sing this when I wash matts at our summer cottage ^^.

  • I love this song!It´s nice!

  • nice

  • i don't know what they are saying but t sounds cool

  • I love this song! Thanks for putting the CD version! =)
