I don't know about the UK, but in the US, speed limits are often 10-15mph below the ACTUAL safe speed limit as found by engineers and other professionals, so going above the posted speed limit isn't as dangerous as many people think.

I think too many people see driving as a right rather than a privileged. The testing should be far more difficult. I've recently arrived at the opinion that there isn't actually any amount of campaigning that can change the habits of aggressive macho drivers. The best the rest of us can do is protect ourselves by gathering as much material on defensive driving as possible and doing courses to improve our awareness and skills. The aggressive ones are living on borrowed time and they don't even know it. If you are involved in a collision it is little consolation being in the right. Drive Defensively.

1. The car in front didnt have the brakes on properly by how easy it rolled.
2. There should be damage to the window screen or bonnet, since there was two distingush bump sounds and impact injuries at the side and possible back of head.
3. No denting or damage the car that hit the lady, the damage inflicted to her back, there should be at least some.

For me (opinion), the scenario isn't really realistic O_O. I mean there weren't really any blind spots (based on the grassy surroundings (0:32) and I bet the driver could have seen the Red car (is that a vitara?) from far away and braked earlier (of course considering he's not a stupid driver). It would have been better if it were say a blind corner then he madly made an abrupt turn while speeding then hit the red car. That would have been better. Shows the driver is stupid

It may not have killed her, but it is a very heavy vehicle. The speed at which the red jeep travels when it gets hit from behind is enough to knock her down, and it could do real damage, especially if she wasn't prepared for it.

Have the man get out and check the car, then go to the woman to say his car was more damaged, to realise that she got out of HER car, checked the damage to the front of the car caused by the woman she hit, and tell the little boy there was more damaged done to her car than to his. Then he just stares slightly confused at the camera, then a cartoon car with 'SPEED' written across it starts to shake its head while clasping it with its hand (a wheel).

When I was 8 i was hit by a car going 50 when I was on my bike.
Broken elbow and a bruised rib is all I got. The car moved 10 feet when it was hit in this video and couldnt have accelerated past 20.

I love the video & people should slow down in denser areas but I feel that they should also learn to be more aware of their surroundings. It's not the speed that injures and kills people, it's the collision.

That's disturbing. I find it hard enough to deal with a death but if I killed someone I would commit suicide on the spot. My life would not be worth living. It's like that ad with the crumpled kid and the guy sees him everywhere. I would go insane with the guilt. Sad that that sort of thing really happens to people. BTW in Britain it's not an SUV, it's a Jeep or Land Rover.

1. The car in front didnt have the brakes on properly by how easy it rolled.
2. There should be damage to the window screen or bonnet, since there was two distingush bump sounds and impact injuries at the side and possible back of head.
3. No denting or damage the car that hit the lady, the damage inflicted to her back, there should be at least some.
I know this is not the point of the ad.

For me (opinion), the scenario isn't really realistic O_O. I mean there weren't really any blind spots (based on the grassy surroundings (0:32) and I bet the driver could have seen the Red car (is that a vitara?) from far away and braked earlier (of course considering he's not a stupid driver). It would have been better if it were say a blind corner then he madly made an abrupt turn while speeding then hit the red car. That would have been better. Shows the driver is stupid

It may not have killed her, but it is a very heavy vehicle. The speed at which the red jeep travels when it gets hit from behind is enough to knock her down, and it could do real damage, especially if she wasn't prepared for it.

Reducing speed is the only we can reduce the number of accidents and fatalities.We do not have the ability to properly calculate the correct stopping distance at a particular speed. They should have gone arthouse for this. Have the man get out and check the car, then go to the woman to say his car was more damaged, to realise that she got out of HER car, checked the damage to the front of the car caused by the woman she hit, and tell the little boy there was more damaged done to her car than to his. Then he just stares slightly confused at the camera, then a cartoon car with 'SPEED' written across it starts to shake its head while clasping it with its hand (a wheel).
