I LOVE the ukele! I wish I could play! Sadly though, since my shoulder injuries, I can no longer play stringed instruments...my left arm and hand are useless. That's okay, I'll just listen :-D
Finally - after two years (okay nearly 3 and lots of other songs) I have got it! I will post a video response closer to Christmas. Excellent videos and I am glad you leave them up for slow learners like me.
I like your playing a lot, really I do. But may I make a suggestion to your pronunciation of 'Kalikimaka'? You are saying 'ka-lick-i-maka', when it should be said 'ka-lee-ki-maka.'
no it is a soprano DaSilva SM-1, but if you are looking for an excuse to acquire a concert ukulele then by all means, assume that it was a concert! :)
Well, I wanted to learn this song (I saw your uke noir vid mixing it with blue christmas and I falled in love inmediately)... I have no excuses now!! :-)
Wow! Where and how did you learn to play your ukulele? I stumbled upon you videos looking for ideas to play 'Mele Kalikimaka' other than the standard way it's written on the sheet music. You hit the style I've been looking for. I'll definitely check out you website.
Awesome !
Mele kalikimaka!

it has what is called an extended fret board. yours stops at 12 or 13, mine continues on the smaller bout's sound board up to 17 frets.
