  • @joshuarugg hey, awesome! I'm glad this video is bringing up even further safety measures in the climbing business; I will forward your comment on to the Pure Life guys. And yes, anyone who knows cocos knows that most of them have been spiked, and that's why I feel good promoting companies that go out of their way to avoid spikes. I've seen spiked trees that just look mangled, and I know properties that have exclusively unspiked trees, no "inoculation", really healthy, no crown rot problems,

  • @joshuarugg aloha! the coconut "tree" (not a tree, but part of the grass family) doesn't have the bark that a tree has, so your spikes actually leave permanent holes, opening the plant up to disease and rot - the holes never heal. I assure you the coconut is not having fun w your spikes. As for faster... did you not see them repelling from one tree to the other? For ultimate fun and speed, try barefoot free-climbing up into the crown - careful! ;)
