I know this is just a movie, but it really bothers me that the girls got a novice pass and that Casey got a junior pass. Just because you do one double does not mean that you are at the junior level. I know girls who are in the preliminary, and even at pre-preliminary level who are working on their doubles :/ and no one in that routine is anywhere near the novice level

Lol this movie has its skating facts MESSED UP. The girls are seniors _17 to 18 years old) and only Junior level. Then, the kids are in a "beginner" class learning advanced single jumps - lutz, flip - and then, the say that Casey skipped 2 levels, which is prohibited by the USFSA, and also the ISI, and 2 levels above means their in Juvenile level (the kids) or the level above, and thats NOT beginner....

NO. To be able to do a good back scratch spin, layback, tiny flip jump, and waltz jump like Casey did does NOT make you a junior. A junior needs exceptional field in the moves skill, and Casey didn't do any move fields stuff, and you'd need at least three doubles maybe even a triple, and spins too complicated for you to imagine, like the illusion or sit switch foot spin, and Casey only did juvenile or maybe pre-juv things.

We're really supposed to believe that Casey learned advanced skating THAT fast? This was my original problem with the film, making her too darn good at EVERYTHING. I mean yeah, she had all that practice time on the pond, whereas it's possible the other girls never skated before they started training for it. But still. That makes her talent possible, but without the movie confirming how long she skated by herself before she took classes, it's still a stretch.

Physics requires strong abstract intelligence, whereas figure skating requires bodily-kinesthetic intelligence (exceptional connection and coordination between body and mind).
