  • we had an illegal hook up of HBO in the early 80s.i was like 7 or 8 and this movie would scare the fucking shit out of me.this movie and my bloody valentine were some scary shit when i was a kid !

  • saw this this morning on netflix, totally by accident- corny film but brought back memories from 8th grade- Good watch, sheriff and wife have zero chemistry. The Mortician is laughable- some scary scenes though...on a 1-10 scale- a strong 6

  • Watched this last night. What a surprise! I had no idea it was going to be so good. While it wasn't "perfect", it was right up there with a great De Palma film for me. Some seriously freaky bits, too. Loved the scene with the family in the house. So much atmosphere.

  • Filmed in the town of Mendocino, Calif. in 1980. Stars James Farrentino, who died in January 2012.

  • The poster alone scared me.

  • i love the trailers during that time... sets the mood right now these days we get 20 second trailers that doesnt scare at all

  • I'm glad that I got the 2-disc Limited Edition of this movie when it came out! This is one of the greatest horror movies ever made! An excellent atmosphere throughout and incredible jump-scares!

  • reanimation was popular during the 30's i heard 4 real though

  • why have I never heard of this before? a movie where the zombies are victimized...... that's fucking genius

  • The shit is on Netflix instant que

  • I love clean, picturesque, friendly towns!

  • Oh, another one: The Amityville Horror.

  • This is the stuff Sammy Terry used to show on those late friday night horror flicks!

  • fuck remakes. whats the point of remaking a movie. be fucking original and make your own movie. stop stealing.

  • @royalnaz1 the point is bitch-ass bean counters in Hollywood don't give a SHIT about originality, and bitch-ass consumers don't make producers work for their money by making an original product. Tell your friends to stop giving their money to those who don't deserve it, and to ignore all the bullshit marketing that Hollywood sends out and instead concentrate on objective REVIEWS.

  • @TVismyopiate Well said.

  • why do people always ask where do you get this movie. WHEN THEY KNOW THERE IS FUCKING AMAZON AND EBAY AVAILABLE. ARE YOU PEOPLE RETARDED OR SOMETHING

  • @royalnaz1 Sounds like someone needs to take a nap, or get back on his meds .

  • @royalnaz1 Where do you get Amazon and EBAY?

  • damn this movie is the best not those crappy movies you see today ,

  • Dead and Buried--one of my all-time favorites. Thanks for posting this. Check out my short video response. You might like it.

  • is this one worth it?

  • @AghastRaven Yeah it's extremely worth it, so much so that a very high profile movie from the late 90s ripped off the ending. Can't tell you which one cause it'll give it away. Definitley watch Dead & Burtied though you'll love it if you love a good 80s murder mystery and suspense film!

  • twist ending

  • i used to rent this, & I dont remember most of it. Been too long.

  • i wasn't born in the 1980s...but I wish I could travel back in time to when media was like it is in this trailer...the voice...the artistic backdrop at 1:49 ......the video quality...

I feel like I was there...the 80s means so much to me...

  • "Dead and Buried. It will take your breath away."

Hmmm. That's not so bad. I can spare a breath or tw....

    "All of it!"

Oh shit, I'm going to die!

  • Great movie, watched the DVD last night

  • @1974Burnsy oh my god where did you get the dvd???

  • @Noodlelette it's available on dvd and on bluray, search it up on amazon.

  • This is one of my favourite horror movies. It has the best ever ending!

  • so is this movie any good?

  • I wanna see it again and again. I still have some breath in my lungz.

  • RIP Percy Rodrigues

  • this was a pretty good movie.... for all those who watch it keep an eye on the sherriff the way through the movie he messes with his hand BRILLIANT foreshadowing by the writer/director worth a watch.....

  • This was actually a good flick. I didn't know that this also a novel.

  • Had one of the most beautiful movie covers.

  • @MissInvisible11

agreed, it's my favorite ever. It's also one of those VHS boxes I would see on the shelf of the BB horror isle as a kid and get really creeped out.

  • I so remember that movie poster with the face sticking out of the ground when I was a kid.Still freaky after all these years

  • Great trailer!! Almost 30 years old and it's still scary^^ I'm already downloading the movie to check this out

  • I've never seen this film; it was placed on the list of banned movies in the 1980's in Britain while, say, Carrie, Dawn of the Dead and Halloween escaped such notoriety. Was it really "that" violent?

  • Not sure how the movie is, but you should read the book. Not easy to scare me, but that book terrified me, surprising ending, but now that I reflect on it 25 years later, it so much applies to what's going on in the world today. Definitely read the book.

  • @Aztec35361

Compared to Carrie and Halloween, yeah. The only reason why Dawn of the Dead wasn't banned is because the version that was released there was heavily cut to remove gore.

  • this movie is really good. loved jack albertson(grandpa joe from willy wonka) as dobbs. not your normal zombie flick

  • Dan O'Bannon can do no wrong. Well except for Futurekill. He wrote some of the best sci-fi and horror films of all time. Alien, Total Recall, Heavy Metal, Dead and Buried. And directed the best zombie flick of the 1980's--Return of the Living Dead. Sucks he's gone now :(

  • greatest horror movies ever made, this kicks ass

  • It will take your breath away.

    ALL of it.

    That made me laugh.

  • I've never seen this movie, looks cool though. worth watching?

and what's it about, zombies or killers?

  • The waitress with the bouffant hairstyle looks exactly like this girl in high school to the T. She had the bouffant, the dark hair, scary stare too. Freaked me out when I saw her in school. I bet she still has that hairstyle. Who played the waitress anyway?

  • I bought this ages ago and got bored after 20mins and never watched it again...Think i might have to give it another go..

  • this looks awesome.

  • best horror flick ever.

  • @atomicwendy This movie is so surreal. I saw it back then and it scared the hell out of me and still does. It's one of those horror films that make you think.

  • remember seeing parts of this movie on "Scifi" channel back in 03'..was kinda stunned about the ending..

  • Time for a remake?????

  • @MegaLeedavid remakes suck

  • @n0wi there isn't a remake is there? I never heard of one. I saw this back in 1981 and it scared the hell out of me. It's too surreal.

  • @robbiesyohn i meant in general. if theyd remake this movie they would put in some "stylish" effects, sexy young actors, cool jokes, maybe even 3d and other shit.

  • @MegaLeedavid a remake would never be as good.

  • @atomicwendy you are right. No remake could do this. But you know what would be a funny prank. I am a practical jokester, get some friends dressed up as the characters in Dead and Buried and get a camera and go to their house and scare the pants of of them and start taking pictures. It would make them shit their pants I'm telling ya. This movie just won't leave my mind. I'm still seeing it in my head.

  • @atomicwendy

    Ok, how about a sequel????

  • @MegaLeedavid burn in hell!

  • This movie is so good, its kinda a film that no one noticed

  • @VeryFineCrapVideos

I just watched it last night I thought it was fantastic.

The opening music alone was very creepy, mildy disturbing, unsettling and pretty atmospheric. One of the best horror movies I missed out on from the 80's!

  • classic :]]

  • I love the movie poster...

  • "It will take your breath away. ALL of it." O_O

  • @lijluvr356 Will take your farts away. All of them. O_O

  • Amazing horror film.

  • One of the best horror filmsof the 80's....Great ending

  • Comment removed

  • awesome

  • man classics never die

  • In this Era the movies are simple;but efects its more natural and real.that today.

  • Great horror film! Kind of unique plot that you wouldn't guess from the movie trailer-love that in these old flicks.

  • ok....1:38....IS CREEPY!!!!

  • I miss those deep voices narrating horror movie trailers :(

  • Me too. My favorite part is when he would say, "Starts friday at a theater near you"

  • 80's horror=the best!

  • funny you say that...i hate them :P especially this one.

  • @LizzyT123 I remember being a kid with the TV on at night and one of those horror movie spots would come one and freak me out SO MUCH because of the narrator's voice. At 37, I still get chills when I put on one of these old trailers and hear that VOICE!

  • @LizzyT123 This guy, Percy Rodriguez, was a major part of my childhood. A great actor and voiceover legend (the trailers for Jaws, Poltergeist, The Stuff, The Exorcist, Madman, The Black Hole, on and on).

  • @LizzyT123 Ditto!

  • does anyone have soundtrack of this movie?

  • where is robert englund :P i cannet see him

  • that picture/poster of Dead and Buried is amazing...!

  • This is an excellent film. It took me years to find it ...

  • I've just bought it; it seems to be soooo great ! i'm quickly going to watch it ;)

  • cheeky boy

  • When I saw this movie many years ago it scared the brown out of me. I'm going straight to Netflixs, I wanna see it again.

  • i wanna watch this. NOW NOW NO WNO NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW. i really wanna watch it.

  • Fantastic film. I just watched this last night. So good i had to buy the 2 disc version.

  • Interesting Trailer. Thank you.

  • the god old zombie films, you can't compare them with the zombie films from nowadays they are absolutely boring

  • One of the greatest endings of all time!!!

  • Yes!!! Jack Albertson says to him, "Let me fix that for you." Brrr..

  • Creepy! I want to watch it! They don't make horror films like they use to. I'm a sucker for these old films and I'm the same age as this film, oh I feel so old!

  • you feel old?? you're still in your 20s...

  • I know exactly what you mean... i have the same feelings when i see this 80´s stuff.

Anyway, i gonna see this flick tonight on german television, i hope i will remember and tell ya if this one´s watchable.

  • Thanks! If I see any thing worth watching I will let you know!=)

  • Hello again! I´ve seen DAB yesterday and surprisingly it was pretty good. Sometimes a little cheesy with oldschool - effects, but overall one of the better 80´s horror-movies i´ve seen. Not an "Evil Dead", but nevertheless very entertaining. If i could get it for about 10 bucks, i would!

  • Thanks! I will be on the look out for it so I can watch it then buy it. Have you scene lets Scare Jessica to Death? I watched it and it was strange. Oh I watched Eaten alive It's strange not really scary. I think it's Robert Englund's First horror movie he stared in before Freddy Kruger,Check it out if your a fan of Tobie Hooper the guy who did Texas Chainsaw. The old Man in that movie is a real nut bag and mumbles to him self. I laughed through the whole thing. If you want a good laugh watch it

  • lol they use the Welcome to potters bluff audio file where hes tearing that one girl apart in the song Mortician-Dead and Buried a good song lol also na amazing movie

  • Great movie! I remember when I was a little girl this movie scared the shit out of me!

  • This a true Cult Classic

  • I waited 16 years to see this when I finally tracked down a copy of the rare Thorn Emi version. It was worth the wait and I love it. The double DVD is highly recommeded!

  • Just ordered it off ebay should be getting it any day now

  • I have searched on YouTube for the 70's movie "The possessed", with James Farentino, Joan Hackett and Harrison Ford. Does anyone have seen it?

  • I loved the way it ended with that creepy blue picture. Well, when I was a kid that same picture on the home video cover used to scare me :)

  • This is a good movie.

  • I love this trailer. The Blue Underground tin is sweet, but I wish they would've included a separate soundtrack CD. The score is just beautiful.

  • Cool trailer looks great!
