i read his book "surprised by hope" and in it he states that men (unbelievers in the afterlife) will drift around here and there, and over time simply cease to resemble humans and lose any God like characteristics. Where does he come up with these ideas? They are not in the Bible. Will God ressurect the dead and be like "oh, ok you guys can cruize around and do whatever you want - I, with my infinite power, just cant get through to you, so on your way" Too much communion wine?

So if this man would not send people he loves to hell but god will then in my eyes he is more compassionate and moral than his god is. Hell is the adsence of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that is why we can help the ones in hell. because God isnt in hell, hell is a place of hatred, darkness, agony, everlasting death whilst God is here to bring life and life more abundant, He is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience and Life. The opening chapters of Genesis were not intended to be literal narratives; just because some people read and promote them as such does not mean that they are.
St. Augustine's commentary on Genesis is a non-literal reading.
Again, the Bible has DEMONSTRABLE gaps in it's genealogies, which right off the bat nullify a 6,000 year earth.

Some people say that hell is located inside the earth. They think Hell is in the mantle and core of the earth. I'm not sure really, but I know that i will do everything in my power not to end up there. Thats why I have accepted Jesus Christ as my lord and personal savior.

i read his book "surprised by hope" and in it he states that men (unbelievers in the afterlife) will drift around here and there, and over time simply cease to resemble humans and lose any God like characteristics. Hell is the adsence of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that is why we can help the ones in hell. because God isnt in hell, hell is a place of hatred, darkness, agony, everlasting death whilst God is here to bring life and life more abundant, He is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience and Life. Hell is in the centre of the earth...but it doesnt matter where it is, we just need to have a realtionship with Jesus to not go there but spend out eternity with our maker in heaven.

@HonestTechnoAtheist A Judge can both have mercy, the Mediator can make intercession for the person, and if they dont have the Mediator, they are going to be judged based on the crimes they have committed, of which they have no intercessor for, which means the Judge and the jury can condemn someone to suffer the punishment, God is the greatest imaginable being, so it follows His punishment is imaginablly, maybe even unimaginable great for those who disobey.

@yazlanka Yes, the Genesis account says 7 Days, and Jesus says, "I am the gate" - yet, no one believes Jesus was a walking gate that could be opened and closed. The opening chapters of Genesis were not intended to be literal narratives; just because some people read and promote them as such does not mean that they are.
St. Augustine's commentary on Genesis is a non-literal reading.
Again, the Bible has DEMONSTRABLE gaps in it's genealogies, which right off the bat nullify a 6,000 year earth.

@yazlanka It is American Fundamentalism that believes in a literal 7 Day creation with a 6,000 year old earth (Which, there are demonstrable gaps in the Biblical record, rendering that view even less Biblical than it's proponents think).
However, not all, and certainly not "most" Christians are fundamentalists; they're just the loudest and most publicized.
It also needs to be noted that the Bible contains many different literary styles. This, I assumed, was common knowledge.

That means you cant use science to determine the cause, because its based on the physically created universe.

There is only so much you can study about the universe, it probably doesnt get smaller that the smallest particles that science has uncovered, you dont have to have an explanation of how those particles are made up of or how did it come to be, it is.

There is no proof for god. Just because we dont have all the answers doesnt mean that there has to be an invisible god who doesnt need a creator like everything else. You believe this god is perfect in every way, but at the same time has many character flaws, jealousy,pettiness,anger,wrath, all very negative human traits, if a perfect god did exist, he would be above having such pathetic negative emotions.

If someone killed your child, would you be angry, would that be justfied? God is the greatest being, worthy of worship, and yet if people reject him and his salvation from wrath, isnt God able to take vengeance on His enemies? Remeber, Jesus was a man, God became flesh to know us more fully.

@LeesburgFLAtheist Science cant prove right and wrong, and pretty and ugly and other things which are reasonable to believe in, it cant prove supernatural things because it deals only with the natural world, metaphysical aspects of life are literally beyond physicallity. I use the Bible because it is the standard of truth that i measure everything in life with.

Science doesnt need to prove right and wrong or pretty and ugly. People have a moral compass and it has nothging to do with god, oh I know you think it does, but it doesnt. There are many cultures that are NOT christian who reject your god and yet they have morals, proving that you dont need god to be good.Science cant prove the supernatural because the supernatural does not exist.

I think its easy to see that He is the one who makes the rules and lays them down, because the things which He tells us not to do, are bad for us to do, is it bad for an animal to do, if a pelican kills a fish, did it commit sin? did it murder? did it break the commandment "Thou shalt not kill"? No, so if animals who we are over are not held by those commandments, God is far above them as the Judge.

@HonestTechnoAtheist No i think your wrong on your premises, there is no contradiction involved in all knowing and all powerful, what your really saying is, if God know everything and has power to prevent those bad things, he would, but because those bad things exist, He isnt all knowing or all powerful, but it could be that God will not do the logically impossible, He creates free creatures, so He literally can't MAKE a person FREELY choose Him.

And if he can still change them then he is not all knowing. "he can't make a person FREELY choose Him." No but he can use eternal torment as a persuasion technique.
