I really liked how you mention the aspects that make this series so unique in a good way: in depth character development, story over merchandising and, while I think you didn't say this, an awesome OST. You even went on to say minor details that are in fact the series' spirit, like the Turn A (the most overpowered MS ever) serving as a washing machine for an improvised hospital or transporting a cow to help a farmer. It's too bad this will probably stay forever as a cult entry in the franchise

haha Rrobert. the Series Turn A is actually considered the last of all GUndam series in the time line. however the destruction from the Turn A and Turn X forced humanity resetiing basically all there technology. makign it APPEAR that the series would look as if it was in 1900s

Strangely enough, what got me interested in Turn A itself was the theme music from the show as heard on SRW-α Gaiden. I could actually visualize the mech --and pardon me for the oxymoron-- elegantly lumbering into battle while this music played in the background.

I think this show was a blessing because it shook up the franchise and showed Tomino was trying to make a series that went against Bandai's overriding priorities to make a show just to sell toys rather than tell a good story. Yes the Turn A is really ugly, but Tomino made sure both the hero gundam and main character Loran were as unmarketable as possible and not just please greedy corporate execs or shallow fans. Serious fans of Gundam actually appreciate the show a lot

BUT! we all must keep in mind that this was no ordinary gundam story line, it was a mash-up and mix of any thing and everything! So with that in mind... the Turn A Gundam series more than lives up to the title, "Gundam". (it's just hard to put it next to any other gundam and not laugh) XD

Ah Syd Mead. His concept design really did shape our visions of the future for decades even if he will probably be mostly remembered for his work on the likes of Tron, Aliens and Blade Runner.

I really did love this show too. It was so incredibly daring as the Gundam for the turn of the century (thus the namesake?). It's certainly a slow burner but I enjoyed watching it alternating between this and G Gundam for its polar opposite.

In terms of scale that must be a really big cow! haha

Turn A gundam is very pleasing as a gundam design as it does something new as opposed to other gundams that follow a guideline, I do admit I like the gundam look however its nice to see something new for a change

I had to force my self to watch Turn A Gundam......It not bad but it not good. Might like it better in English Dub.....If they ever do Dub it.......Don't give me this dub sucks i would rather watch bad dub in English then watch it in Japanese.
