  • Rotary owners, putting up with terrible gas mileage and trolling from people who never owned one I love my 13b ;)

  • holy fuckin rb30 dammmm sounds nats and gos well... nats

  • smoking tires always look awesome

  • proud 13b owner here...

  • I read alot about roterys and pistons engines well there very diffent and any engine thats ment for race isnt going to last long anyway I,ve seen diesel engines with 1.5 mil kays on them they dont rev that,s why they last.

  • @tunastrike11 Rotarys are great for endurance racing. Mazda 787B won Le-MANS & that was a rotary. They use RX-8s quite alot in various parts of the world also for endurance racing & they perform fantastic. My RX7 FD is still running fine ,no problems. But my neighbours VW Golf 2L TDI is on its second engine & gearbox. Rotarys actually have less moving parts in their engines,so theory has it that less can go wrong with them. Keep em topped with oil & watch for rotar tip wear. Thats all really.

  • listend bitch i got a rx7 that bit any of ure hater car it do 6 sec on 1/4 wat up i race any mother fucker in here so get straight AN IS A 13B BITCHES DOING 6 SEC

  • my feet go faster than that rotisery shit

  • holy fuck, that last one was absolutely fucking amazing

  • That wrx is an EG33.

  • the rotarys has an very special idle and sound and an can get over 8000 rpm redline! love the sound!

  • MR MAD OWNED 6.85

  • 0:27 wow..powerful without weight ..

  • @mahmoudawwad1990 SO, it's a proper racing engine then?

  • 4.16 see the tyre.

  • that s*** just goes man !

  • powerful cars and shitty (and light) chassis

  • 1st one isnt a rotary...

  • Good old VL =P

  • puerto rico and australia no 1 got shit on our rotaries

  • i have to admit beside the rumor about the seals are shit i quite impressed by the rotary i mean come on virtually no top end? all i have to say is im all up for rotary and piston

  • 12 people dont like it because they live next to the track

    I love rotary engines

  • Rotary engines are very good if it weren't for the fact they are less reliable then an gold diggin' blonde...

  • @ynoht25 an engine is only as reliable as the person driving it, obviously you don't personally know much about rotaries and just go off byw hat others have told you. ive seen plenty of rotary engines outlive piston engines.

  • @BryceI3 I've been racing with a rotary for 4 years... You have to break it down after every run. Don't assume things on the internet. It will often just make you look like an idiot.

  • @ynoht25 u pretty much just contradicted urself.. if u read the first bit where i said as reliable as the driver and since your RACING then thats not what you would call reliable driving? and its hardly assuming when its personal exxperience. don't assume things on the internet, it will often make u look like an idiot.

  • @BryceI3 That first bit is only a accepted argument if you look on it from a non-racing perspective. And my first sentence was a reply to your "no personal experience". When racing I can't flood it at 1200 rpm... And I meant don't assume that I don't know anything. Amd just to put an end to the "reliable as the driver" last competition I had a 7.25 dial-in and ran on 7.2508.

  • @ynoht25 i hardly see how any of what you said contributes to anything at all

  • @ynoht25 they're not necessarily that unreliable if well maintained. But maintenance can be expensive.

  • puerto rico and austraila best rotaries countries in tha world no one got shit on dem

  • What about electric? Can electric do better?

  • @HyperFoxIII it might in a quarter tbf... single twine motors, with littleturbines giving high voltage and amplitude could give a LOT of torque, all of which is instintaneous, and you would have 1 gear so no worries about changing... good idea, just make sure you have a few AA batteries spare :)

  • @nathanpisces Yeah, I wasn't sure since rotary out-performs piston engines. There was this one electric drag car called "White Zombie" and that made me think about it. It beat a lot of muscle cars with piston engines so I wasn't sure if it could beat cars with rotary engines.

  • @HyperFoxIII well, V8's and i-6's have lots of torque low down, and with turboes, or superchargers can get a lot of power low down and quickly put it down. Electrics would give a very good fight, i prefer pistons than rotary though, and i'd back up pistons though lol

  • Rotaries perform extremely well for their displacement, and are a very smooth responsive engine, however, They are unreliable, chew through gas and i dont personally like the sound of them the way some idiots port them and make them pulse around town. they are a clever design, but impractical for road use in my opinion.

  • funny they should bring up tauruses becauser i have a rx-8 stock and my buddy has a taurus sho intake and exaust and i still beat him. 1.3 vs a 3.2 s.h.o. lol (super high output my ass) lol pistons get pwned

  • I like some v8s but ya its rotary power bitch, an if i had the choice between a v8 or a rb it no thinking needed give my the rb aka v8 killa

  • Amazing performance! If "Felix Wankel" could see that......

  • rotary, amazing engineering achievement, + mental sound

  • Haha, looks like those engines would be better off in a go-cart. All hp no torque.

  • @mattg889 No torque my ass... you see these cars sliding all the way down the track right?

  • @Tj1056 yes you read right, NO TORQUE, look at how f-ing tiny those cars are. It doesn't take much to make them go!

  • @mattg889 sorry but you must be watching a different video these push around 700-900 foot pounds of torque

  • @Tj1056 actually I'm mistaken these are pushing out a lot more torque something like 1500-1700 pounds of torque

  • @Tj1056 Interesting, I just noticed in the description, some of them cars are actually v8's as well...

  • @Tj1056 Nope, still watching the right one. Yes they put out a lot of torque if there highly modded as the ones in this video are, but at stock they put out around 150 lb-ft. Many v8's can do well over 500 lb-ft with no mod's at all.

Don't get me wrong, these are fascinating engines, they just are not all there cracked up to be.

  • @mattg889 sorry but you are mistaken they put down 217 ib-ft. on a very light vehicle so it will still match that of a v8 in its stock form... but we are not looking at stock cars here.... these are running 7 seconds... faster then most v8s can do... also the funny thing is a rotary with its 217 Ib-ft. can still beat a 500 Ib-ft. v8 with no problem

  • @Tj1056 So I was a little off when I guessed there torque output, 217 still isn't good... My Taurus puts out that much...

Also I think you are still missing my point, yes the rotary can still beat a v8 because the engines are put in cars a little bigger than a go-cart. (that's not a car to me) Squeeze a v-8 into a go-cart sized car and then do the comparison!

or better yet, put the rotary into a mid-sized car then do the comparison!

There just not a practical engine.

  • @mattg889 well your just a complete moron now that you have said this... your "taurus" @ 200 Ib-ft. is not more then a 13b-rew 1.3l and is much bigger... makes less power... also v8 makes less power per liters isn't that sad... they are making a new rotary that has around 500 Ib-ft. and around i think 400whp 2.0l 2 rotor... remember the rotary is a old engine. A rotary is a much better choice of a engine and most people don't understand it... it moves more air and power then a piston engine can

  • @Tj1056 I must be, You lost me, Did i forget to mention my Taurus is a v6, not a v8, my bad. and actually my Taurus is closely matched to that 13b-rew engine.

I know the rotary is a powerful engine, but they just lack the torque output to really shine, They don't have enough of a "stroke" during the cycle, it is just that simple. You will never get that extra burst of speed when shifting from 4th to 5th at 90 mph @3000 rpm (not 8000) like my Taurus does. not without mods anyway.

  • @mattg889 its what you call a turbo and if racing 4th to 5th will shit at 4k and will pull just as hard...

  • @Tj1056 Yea with a turbo, that's a mod. My Taurus has nothing, all stock, its a plane old 4 door sedan.

  • @mattg889 except for the fact that the fd3s comes stock with twin turbo...

  • @Tj1056 Yes it comes stock, they purposely design it into the engine because it desperately needs it to be a comparable engine! If I were to put a turbo in my Taurus then suddenly it would again exceed that engine...

You have to compare apples to apples here...

  • @mattg889 did you know that this car is a 1.3l dont be a douche bag

  • @Tj1056 Yes, which is comparable to a 2.6 piston engine...

  • @mattg889 yes is comparable but is not LOL... also NA rotary can take your ford anyways...

  • @Tj1056 Yea..Sure..Bring it! lol

  • How can anyone not like a rotary? They are pure evil!!! Anyone of these people who have never driven one should!

  • fix a mustang, put a 20b in it. best idea for an upgrade ever

  • i dont care how fast they are i want a V8

  • That last one is a monster, 7.27, holy crap!

  • waooooo una Opel Commodore

  • THE SOUNDS 0__0 AND THE WAY THEY EXCELERATE YOUR PENIS WOULD GET RAMMED INWARDS

  • THE SOUNDS 0__0

  • holy shit

  • panalo

  • fucking monsters i would shit myself if i heard that comming tward me and aji8 go suck a dick and stop commenting on rotarys unless its good

  • the best thing in this video is the STAIDEL the red datsun from puerto rico

  • that last car goes through it in style lol

  • God fucking damn! I love the sound of a rotary at idle!!! They just sound so ballsy!

  • Dayum!,, Alot Of Power!!,, They All Look Like Old Model Cars,, But The Way Take Off is Mind Blowing!!,, Plus The Sound is Too Roaring,, I Mean,, Its Very Loud And Blasting, But You Can Hear The Superiority!

  • Sheez.. These rotaries are getting it done bigtime!!

  • these rotary engines would be great in my lawn mower!

  • Best rotary engine tuners are from Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. These four countries have the best rotaries of the world . I cannot say that pistons engines are lame cause they are not , V8 are torque monsters , but the rotary engine its a mechanical wonder. Keep rotaries alive and let them give hell to all piston engines around the world. Peace out.

  • That Subaru is not a 6, its a 4.

    Subaru 6 bangers SUCK.

  • @AYEcorolla - well it don't sound like no EJ. last time i saw it was running the 6 cyl. they changed back or wha??

  • @TD625G Subaru 6 bangers sound like porsche engines.

That does not sound like no porsche.

  • Thought i might add again that the Blue WRX at the start runs an EG33 6 cylinder boxer motor, not a rotary. actually is RWD too. Fastest one in the world.

  • @TD625G

Except that Rigoli doesn't mess around with EG/EZ series.

  • @AYEcorolla - what you mean? they're messing around with that '33. Btw, what is an EZ?

  • all kinds of Power right there

  • wow o.o they launch really quick

  • For all of the Rotary haters out their, let's hook up your built piston engine with a equally pumped rotary, put them on the engined dyno and run them at max load for lets say 72 hrs and let's see wich one makes it and wich one will need a rebuild. Just a thought.

  • This engine will need to be rebuilt soon. I guess the rotary has to be put in tiny light cars to get good times. Why not use a motorcycle frame and cut to the chase.

    Rotary is junk and unreliable.

  • @aji8 Please leave negative comments to yourself, because your saying a rotary is unreliable? Just face it you dont know a jack about rotary engine or HOW TO TAKE CARE OF IT, just a topical v8 ignorant american idiot. Do all us a favor and learn more about engine cause there no PERFECT ENGINE IN THIS WORLD!

  • @heromiami305 More excuses for the poor rotary engine. Maybe you guys should go for an engine that you don't have to make excuses for. They are such great engines I never see them at the drag strip. I guess the owner screwed up and ruined a perfectly good engine...Yeah right...get a clue moron.

  • @aji8 OMG!?!? You never seen rotary engine race at the track? where do you live Pluto? Because rotary drag race is all over the world! anyway if rotary engine SUCKED so much what other engine is better?

  • @aji8 i bet if rotaries were made in america you wouldnt be talking shit about it.

  • what a hole shot! sheeeezzz!

  • look who gives a shit if your pistons or rotary s, its like holden or ford. but keep your stupid simple minded opinions to yourself. Because unless you have driven a rotary which most likely none of you have, you cant understand how the engine works and feels. So just keep all your comments to yourselves and grow up.

  • @MrHustlR all i know is that they love to rev lol

  • YOU AGAIN!? Listen, if rotaries really suck, then keep it to yourself. Really. Nobody gives a fuck about your opinions. Unless you're just plain being an ass and teasing people

  • @FourSidedPiston

I can post on here if I want. Who are you, a youtube censor? Get lost moron. If you don't like my posts don't read them. Are you too stupid to realize this???

  • Yeah, I'm too stupid to understand. I NO ANDERSTEND UAT U SEY!

  • @aji8

wait, you're telling FourSidedPiston not to read your posts if he doesn't like them? excellent logic there :p

  • @Croopskate

I do have good logic, thanks.

  • @FourSidedPiston I agree. Comparing Gen 1 or Gen 2 rotaries to modern piston engines is pointless as piston engines are in the Gen 20 range. However comparing the changes in performance and relilability from Gen 1 to Gen 2 of both roteries and piston would be a valid comparison. In this instance the rotary would trash pistons. Rotarines in drag racing however will never lead to reliability changes Paris to Dakar, Baja and the like will lead to both performance and reliability increases.

  • @FourSidedPiston Rotaries suck and they also blow. What makes rotaries so good is that they suck and blow so much faster than piston engines ;)

  • nice!

  • yeah that red nissan or whatever that thing is fuckin slams off the line gaaddamn

  • insane!!! im new to this stuff but what is rotary and how can you get a v8 to this spec???????

  • Puerto Rico showing up...

  • Fuck that red one gets off the line quick

  • yeah thats fast

  • haha i was just about to say aji8 hasn't embarrassed him self in this video yet but i click view all comments and what do you know, his bs is right there.

This guy makes me laugh. Poor kid has no life but to go on youtube and troll around every rotary video.

  • the white car at 4:24 sounds like a bad MF !

  • wow, would like to see that last guy have a clean run.

  • seems like he would break that 7

  • I LOVE AUSTRALIA...!!!!!!!!!!

  • The puerto ricans in there went hard both cars launched so hard

  • no sport, is more dangerous

  • Or noisy. At least after one day at Santa Pod I couldn't hear my missus naggin' me for two months.

  • @telechinga

i would say group b rally was more dangerous. by far. if it was still continued to day, who knows how fast those cars would be.

  • Formula 1 i believe is actually more dangerous than this IMO

  • the wrx in the first race is the worlds fastest wrx it does the quarter mile in 7.60 secs @300kmh(181)mph

  • rotary + BIG turbo + NOs = PWN!!!

  • there's really nothing better except for a turbine lol

  • yea. but theres jet lag in a turbine... =S

  • most turbo drag cars are anti-lagged

  • stop playing video games

  • no, im serious..

  • turbo rotary the best

  • 5:30 i now have a massive boner

  • puerto rico at 0:47

    Rotary power!!!

    rotativos!!

  • Comment removed

  • They are baisicly like two strokes. monstress power and high rpm.

  • a wankel engine is completly different to a two stroke engine.....the wankel is rotatory

  • Yes I under stand that its a completely different principal, but the triangle make a power cycle every rotation just as a two stroke makes its power stroke every revolution... Less moving parts and higher output just as a two stroke as well...

  • ok...i thought you didn't know the differences

  • @JayandJenn07 Plus piston engines greatest downfall is the fact the piston has to stop at TDC and move the opposite direction. That causes a lot of stress on the moving parts. Where as a rotary is full kinetic energy always moving in the same direction.

  • Nothing beats the sound of a rotary full blast :D

  • 5:27 is a beast :o

  • Ебать ковырять!

  • hmmm lets compare stats... a 4 litre quad cam V8, a 5.7 litre twin cam v8 and a 1.3 litre twin turbo (8psi boost) rotary all have the same power levels from factory.. i think i know where i'd be going.

  • I would need an adult diaper before launch

  • erm i dont think any of theese cars got v8 in it there is somting new on the market and its called Rotary Engine

  • Rotary is junk. Piston engines are much better. The most powerful engines in the world are piston. No rotarys here. They would blow up.

  • rotarys are good for high rpm, and if you build it right a rotary could destroy most V8s, dont take me wrong tho, everything i own has a v8, and im no rotary fanboy, im just saying man.

  • Why is it then that some v8s can achieve about twice the RPM such as formula 1.

I guess the rotary isn't that great with RPM. LOL

  • what v8 do you know that can run on the street, and can rev to 11,000 rpm?? o_O f1 engines arent street legal

  • Purely because an F1engine is expensive and limited quantity.

  • How the hell do you know what is legal. You are a moron. Don't say things that are not true. LIAR.

  • youre the moron sir. f1 cars dont even closely meet epa standards. show me a v8 that can rev to 10000 rpm every day and i wont mark your comment.

  • NO YOu are a moron. The rotary barely meets EPA requirements and gets worse fuel economy and emmisions v.s. engines 4 times its size. They probably won't be sold in America soon. You can mark whatever you want. Fact is that most of the V8s can especially if it is OHC but DON't have to as they get more power out of the engine at a lower RPM. Why rev an engine if you don't have to. Most of those engines ARE streetable. All you said is "run on the street" NOT EPA moron.

  • You rotard idiots ALWAYS change the argument as you lose it. LOL I have got hand it to you. You are a bunch of whack jobs and liars. My rotary made 160 h.p. at over 8000 RPM....big deal! My V8 made that power at idle..You guys give the word "idiot" a bad name you are so stupid.

  • mazda 787b, with the 26b rotary engine was a 2.6 litre rotary engine naturally aspirated and put out 900 bhp. lets see a v8 do that, plus, the unfortunate rep of the rotary about how its not reliable is false. it really depends on the owner and how he maintains his vehicle. my last rx7 had 246,000 km's on it and ran like a top

  • Really do you have any dynos to back up your statement or is that your fantasy dyno? V8s have been doing that moron.

The bad rep of the rotary stays intact until people stop replacing them with piston engines...You guys need to face the facts.

  • why would i have a dyno? its a friggen f1 car, im not a millionaire. and i've yet to see a 2.6 litre piston engine do that with no forced induction, but if you know of one please share, i would really like to research it. only idiots who refuse to learn about different ways of combustion swap rotaries for pistons. before you assume that all i like are rotary engines... don't because i appreciate a vehicle that has looks and power regardless of the engine type. im just stating my opinion

  • Ahhh o.k. then you are a liar.

F1 Engines around that size that do it all the time. The proof is out there. Do some research.

  • i forgot to mention that some people actually drive with 4 rotor engines, i dont see cars cruising down the street with piston based f1 engines

  • That is because we don't have to. We are NOT limited to displacement as the rotary is. F1 engines are wasteful/probably high maintainance due to their revs and would not make a good street engine as a 4 rotor rotary doesn't either. You can make more than enough power that what you want/need with most piston engines.

I do know of one Rx7 conversion that drives basically a NASCAR engine on the street.

  • WRONG once again and there is more proof on rotary sites ALL the time. The rotary is junk, that is why people replace it with a piston engine.

  • yeah whatever buddy, you keep telling yourself that cuz your too stupid to learn how a rotary works or how to take care of one

  • LOL..Actually I go by the guys on forums and a guy in my local car group on his 5 rebuild. He is a rotary purist but knows the engine's limits. Obviously you don't. Keep dreaming the rotary is reliable. My rotary was fine when I owned it but I didn't want to give it the chance to fail on me as I demand more from my engines. The rotary FAILS in this regard.

  • Limitations? you can alter the rotor to burn more efficiently, lighter weight, turbo it, & quite a few other things that add MASSIVE amounts of power, the power/weight ratio for a rotary is much higher than conventional piston engines..... NO IT DOESNT last as long, why? because all that power takes a toll on the limits of the block..... unless you spend insane amounts of money to have carbon steel replacing everthing.

  • your a idiot, v8's fail to...

  • Not like this piece of junk engine. Rotary = glass engine.

  • your retarded, face it

  • Look to the rotary engine owner if you really want to see retarded.

  • so most wogs are retarded? considering all these cars are from austrailia where rotarys are very very popular aswell as v8s

  • and these peice of junk engines are running consistant 7s and 6s ?

  • If they can hold together, and are put in a superlight chassis as the rotary doesn't do well with any weight at all they can sometimes. The engines are junk. Sorry you don't understand that.

  • mate aslong as you take good care of them dont over boost them and just make sure you keep up the maitnence they will last a good 100,000kms, sure a piston engine is far more conventional but the reason these guys love rotors is because of how they drive and sound? and those 20b cosmos are fucking heavy and still haul ass, sure as a daily the rotor is no match for a pistin but for a drag or weekend thrasher they are pretty bloody good

  • Any boost is overboost for a rotary. They have issues normally aspirated. My car was on it second engine in 140K miles. The previous owner had two rotaries and knew them well. I did not want to take a chance so I pulled the junk. I am glad you like a weedwhacker sound. Most of us do NOT. I can trim my lawn to listen to a rotary like noise. 20Bs are heavy and useless. I can have a 8 liter +, 2000+ h.p. big block for the same weight that gets better fuel economy.

  • no your plain stupid, your just pissed your rotory couldnt do shit cause you couldnt drive it, learn to drive kid and youll know what its like, your civic couldnt stand a chance against rotorys

  • Whatever you say moron. Keep making up your lies and stories if it makes you feel better. I do NOT own a Civic. I own an Rx7. The engine was working in my car but a pile of rubbish. Slow and noisy.

I knew more over 10 years ago when I started working on cars than you will ever know in your entire pathetic life.

  • lol your so funny, you own a rotory but on all kinds of vids you bash them, your as lame as they get

  • You need to follow along slow one. You are the lame one as you can't even keep up.

I USED to own a rotary engine. I intelligently replaced it with a piston engine.

  • keep dreamin

  • I don't need to dream as I know the truth. Sorry if you can't live with that. I don't expect any more from a rotard. You guys live in another reality.

  • so many people think your just plain nuts, no wait so many ppl KNOW your nuts

  • You keep thinking that. You are the nutty one if you believe that the rotary is a good engine when people take them out of their cars because they are unreliable and probably blown. LOL

  • keep thinkin your right, i dont want to hurt your feelings to much
