ronzthefonz- this is an art developed by the IDF- it is combat designed and combat proven in warzones that you are reading about NOW. I have never trained in it. I prefer Hapkido which shares several elements, but I would definitely welcome the opportunity to train with and learn from Krav Maga experts. It is an incredibly dynamic and powerful system.

Krava maga looks like a good technique for hand to hand combat/self defense. However, I would think twice about trying to grab a handgun from someone. They make it look far too easy; grabbing a gun, wrestling for it and throwing it on the floor. Anyone with any experience with real guns know that this is not the way to handle firearms. I doubt if the guys in the demo have any experience at all with real firearms instead of the plastic toy guns they use in training...

ok, maybe i jumped too conclusions, srry. Do you train with real guns e.g. with guns that are fully cocked and the attacker actually trying to pull the trigger? Reason I ask is; I have been shooting handguns for a number of years as a sport and I know how easy some guns can discharge, especially small caliber handguns. Other than that; great demo and great technique/sport. Keep up the good work.

@ronzthefonz1973 Gun disarming is a last resort.. if you can get away with giving someone your money then that''s the way to go. That being said, sometimes an attacker will not stop when he has your money. The disarming is very real and effective.. it's about experience and speed :) The attacker doesn't have the time to do something about it.

@ronzthefonz1973 idd this looks al handy except for the handgun, 1st : normally you don't put your gun right against someone's chest you prob just stay put

2nd: when taking a gun from someone who's figer is on the trigger it's bound to go off, probs hitting you.. but the cqc looks awesome!

@spikelpoep of course Krav Maga takes this into account. The "finger on the trigger" is in this case more dangerous for the gunman than for the fighter, as with most gun release techniques, it's quite possible to break the gunmans index finger.

@ronzthefonz1973 they throw the guns down on the mat as a way to keep the demo flowing smoothly allowing an attacker to run in so the instructor can flow from one technique into another......real world a highly doubt they would throw the gun on the floor...it's also how some krav maga schools pass the firearm back to the attacker who will attack again from a different angle....again, only in training. It is strange using a real gun in a demo.

Hangt deels af van het niveau van degene die het beoefent en natuurlijk van de techniek die gebruikt wordt. ;-)

Krav Maga is simpel en efficiënt, daardoor doeltreffend voor zelfverdediging "op straat". =)
