Yeah, I played this in 7th grade...looked it up because I suddenly played the melody today while I was working. It took a while to remember what it came form.
@KarumaGaming yall must have a way simpler version then. They never play the original professional versions in schools. Maybe you might see them do it in a Symphonic Orchestra in High School.. MAYBE! Othewise its usually a simpler version.
I remember playing this on piano when I was little, but in my music book it was just called "Tarantella" I can't believe I stumbled across it again just by accident!!
Get over it. Perceptions are what they are. As long as there's no insult intended, don't construe any. It's Russian enough for most of us. It's up to you to promote the correct image. We love this stuff, anyway :)
@tzar2007 , This vid is meant to be music and images to go with it, for the purpose of musical entertainment. It is not meant as a sociological study. Well, anyway, at least I got half of it right.
@sherhino oh dont be hypocritical now ... typical common western trait. you have no clue about Russia. you beautiful words dont change a thing Hillary C. haha
@tzar2007 Perhaps we don't know a lot, but we have come a long way. When I was a child, Russians were the bad guys, although my parents were careful to teach us that the people were probably nice, but the government was our enemy. We imagined everything to be gray and dreary, everyone always sad. Thanks to many efforts in the past 40 years, Russians moving to the US, and the internet, we now see there is much beauty and much to admire from Russia. Learning continues.
@tzar2007 I, for one, know much about the history of Russia and it's Nationality, yet I'm from the West. I don't care for stereotypes, in fact I hate stereotypical people. Not all of us in the West act like idiots, very few in fact do.
@tzar2007 I think young Russians have just forgotten their culture. What should he show? Vodka, cigarettes, and rows of identical apartment buildings? It all looked very Russian to me.
Are you in an orchestra then and play a string instrument? If not you are probably lying b/c I have seen an eastmon student in euphonium even have a little trouble with this...
I know it isn't easy but its harder on a wind instrument; i played this song a few weeks ago and i found doing double tonguing fast on high notes for twenty measures a little challenging but string instruments seem to be bragging b/c they play it earlier
This got stuck in my head in music class.. :/

half of what's in this vid has nothin to do with Russians as nationality.
you in the West have a rather srange perception of us Russians.
maybe, watching too much Borat did something on you guys.

@sherhino , I'm sure that it MUST be learnt before doing something.
As for me it's an offence that there are pictures of other nationalities used instead of Russian in your video (such as Caucasian and Ukraine).

@tzar2007 If you want to talk about a stereotypical image, listen to the far less well known "American" dance from "The Red Poppy."
