  • I'm buying a new plane on ROF. I can't decide between this or the Nieuport 28, and I can only buy one. Which one should I get?

  • @B1Studios se5.a ftw

  • @thekill847 This was 2 months ago, by now I have all the planes. :P But thanks for the reply.

  • now i somehow have the urge to play MS Train simulator 0_0?

  • Wow. you suck,..........

  • @b25e05n95 you kid :)

  • @jon2oo6spb lol ego war

  • @fable2omg haha you owned both

  • And they say that the SE5a (my favourite WWI dogfighter ever) was not so handling in comparison to other biplanes of the time? Hard to believe, seeing some images here. But too rough a landing, I believe. As I see it, it was just good luck that it didn´t break the landing gear into pieces!

  • @AlanMartinNala

The SE5a may not have been as nimble as say a Sopwith Camel, but it had several qualities, like being very sturdy and reliable. It was fast and could dive at speeds other fighters would desintigrate in. The dual Vickers and Lewis machine gun set up was great.

It also had the, in my mind, best aircraft engine of WWI, the Hispano-Suiza V8, which really was revolutionary at the time.

Many aces flew and scored plenty of victories with the SE5a.

  • @McLarenMercedes 100% agreed, but I´d also add that the SE5a seems as fast and reliable as the Spad VII/XIII, if I´m not wrong. Besides, his toughest rival, the Fokker D.VII, was probably the German equivalent to the SE5a in terms of performances and reliability, besides been more handling. I have seen many films facing these two workhorses with rather similar results, but was it the same in real life? Didn´t altitude make any difference in favour of one or the other?

  • @AlanMartinNala

I think the BMW engine of the Fokker DVII had problems on lower altitudes, whereas the "Wolseley Viper" (licence built Hispano-Suiza) worked well on all altitudes, especially on high altitudes.

The high speed of the SE5a was a great asset (which also was the case with the Spad XIII and used to great effect by Fonck) and it still outperformed the Fokker DVII in this area.

  • do u know where i can download this game ??

  • Mixture full rich and it'll be easier to start the engine.

You better use elevators even on the ground. Pull the stick with some power and the tail will hang the ground, then the plane wont advance. Push it when you're taking off, the tail will rise immediately and you'll accelerate faster.

Same to turn on the ground: push the power and the stick with full rudder (left or right), the tail wont hang the ground and you'll almost make an half turn on the spot.

  • Wow stall !

  • Some nice close to the earth stunts. Great flying.

  • cool

  • Nice vid :)

What did you use to record this? i tried fraps, but when i record with sound my fps in game drops to 0 or the game crashes (I7 920, 6gb ram, 9800GTX)

  • Then you must have a bad CPU or too much space taken up or something because i don't know why it's crashing. Even with those specs there are still soem that you left out that are crucial. Maybe you don't meet one of those.

  • I was using the trial version, i then registered it and was able to get a newer version.

I started using that and voila no more probs (see my youtube account)

Still cant record my own and my enemies voice tho, or i hear nothing, or i hear him and the game`s sound..

    Oh well.
