Yes, he's just showing when you "strike out" in "Mac's Last Stand". Plus keep in mind, this version of Sandman was the Title Defense version. All fighters are far more experienced and incredibly hard to beat.

This feels more like a "Game Over" movie than an actual ending, because you get it by losing. Plus, let's not forget the penalty of permanently retiring and not being able to play the game on that save file anymore.

@hotdiddykong2, if you win 10 fights in last stand mode without losing 3 times, you unlock Champions mode, although I'm not entirely sure what it does.

I'm glad I've actually seen what happens after you lose your third match, I'd heard rumour that Mac dies - but he doesn't. He just loses and retires as a result.

Here's hoping Mac decides to make a comeback at some point though, I'd love a Punch-Out!! 2!
