they should have done a commercial with the Arab desert in the background and Osama Bin Laden in it. Weve come to this arab spot ans you'll never believe what we found, the internet!!!
All these commercials have the theme that even in the most mythical of places, you can still get wireless internet service with their card. These two were the best ones, A T & T should put them up here for people to appreciate.
I could be wrong, but I think this is a bit misleading. My understanding is that connect card needs some kind of cell tower to function. Thus it would not function in a remote place like a desert island or on a ship at sea.
What's most interesing is that this commercial was actually filmed on the beaches of Mokuleia on the north shore... not on Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head is superimposed.
That computer has WWAN built in. On the top right part of the screen, there is a bump that includes the WWAN antenna. You don't even need the stupid card... HAHA!
I simply think it's poorly produced. The "island" is the Hawaiian island of Oahu, near Waikiki, with Diamond Head and hotels clearly visible in the upper left-head corner! Are the producers stupid or is this part of the joke? Then, the plane says "Amelia" but Amelia Earhart was lost over Polynesia, not Hawaii! Someone didn't do their research...
I agree with Kaileo...Are you supposed to be able to see Diamond Head and Waikiki in the background? If so, then the commercial makes no sense because he's supposed to be finding the internet in the middle of nowhere, but you can clearly see civilization in the background. Oversight?...or did they just think no one is smart enough to notice. This has bothered me for a while, I'm glad to know someone else noticed it too.
damn that connect card's huge, the new ones are soo much smaller and now u can just tether your 3g phone.

There's two more of these laptop connect card commercials I wish someone would post:
One has Bill Kurtis at the North Pole, with a Yeti building an igloo in the background.
And a second one with Kurtis in Ireland, with a leprachaun, rainbow and a pot of gold in the background.
LOL !!

@jec1ny that is old now,, sattelites can be used which have a distance of almost 700-800 miles so there would be a tower in that range.

It's a joke, dude. Don't be a tight ass.

It was an honest question. Mind your manners--not everyone is as smart as you think you are.

Thanks tapnorris... but I DO get the joke now. My only beef with xpx1 was that he didn't have to be rude in order to point out that it's a joke.
I've since seen the "Fountain of Youth" and "Michael Phelps" versions of these commercials, and they follow the same format.

What I think is REALLY hilarious are the guys who are giving me "thumbs down" for telling 'xpx1' not to be rude! Ha ha ha...
