I reckon you should try and aim to produce a phone that is the size of a person's palm...nowadays people are looking for practical things that can easily fit in skirt/ jeans' pocket and not make you uncomfortable.
If you manage to make a light, small touch screen mobile phone then your sales will increase enormously
@Golding777 Actually, you may want to take a look at the Xperia™X10 mini and/or the Vivaz™. I have been using the Vivaz for a couple of weeks and it does have the small, light quality as well as a touchscreen that you are interested in. The X10 mini has a touchscreen and it is only 2.5 inches diagonally.
It is not likely that Sony Ericsson will have Android 2.0 on the X10 before it is released, as it was said on the launch blog that it will be released with 1.6 and work up to Android 2.0
Why is this old man talking about the product? Stop talking about what the phone is going to be like and show us.. it's taking way too long for this phone to come out. Will it even be available in the US on contract? How overpriced is it going to be? Is the OS going to be laggy? All the screen images have been simulated thus far...
There's no guarantee that X10 will meet its expectations and the release date as X1 never did. By the time X10 is out there are many other options, all being more powerful than X10 and of course less expensive.
What happened to the company we all loved and was one the innovators?
I completely agree with you. SE needs to step it up and they just haven't. They're not paying attention to their competition, which in the last 3 years has been blowing them away. I think their staff is just a bunch of old people who focus more on marketing the product than delivering what people want.
It means you are one those people who are responsible for disrespecting your customers by recently introducing jokes like X2, instead of offering proper upgrades and updates for X1, all with the aim of forcing people to upgrade and pay another ridiculous price tag for just couple of minor upgrades!
You keep on making paper launches for the products that'll arrive in the next six months!
You're missing key tech trends with products - in this case Android 2.0! (BTW where's the flash at least LED?)
You're trying to differentiate but you're delivering same social networking experience in a bit different envelope, completely missing crucial time-to-market moment!
Was it worth spending so much time on Rachel UI, and still having awfully slow UI, and being so much late behind anyone else?
i like sony but please get bettter software update

Fantastic phone, but I will ONLY buy it if it has Andriod 2.0 (or 2.1 by that Feb!)

If this phone gets Android 2.0 before launch then I will buy it. If not, HTC Dragon with exactly the same specs is going to be my next phone...
